At 44 with two follicles? I triggered with one at 22ish and one at 17. My stims went for 12 days but the last two days the follicles grew 8 mm each. Oddly, I had just switched to a new batch of gonal f from another company, but RE says its just a sign of ovarian dysfunction and that it just took that long to get the follicles growing. My estrogen is at 400...it pretty much doubled every two days, but is my lowest yet (but also its half what it was when I had 4 mature follicles).
So it was 26 then 52 then 130 then 260 then 400 ...
I think she is going off my age and follicle number. Is it that NO ONE gets pregnant at 44 when they have just two follicles?
Guess I will know more on retrieval (Sunday) and if there are eggs, then more on Monday to see if they could even fertilize...
Me: 44 severely reduced reserve
DH: 44 perfect
IVF 1: Feb 08 -BFP twins (lost one at 7 weeks, one at 13 weeks)
IVF 2: June 08 -BFN
IVF 3: September 08 -BFN
IVF 4: November 08 - Katherine Emma born 8/9/2009

"One in a million" is an exaggeration, but their point that the probability of success is very low is correct. I'd guess it's in the 1-5% range.

Thanks, I was thinking around 2 percent myself ... my chances have never been great and I won't kid myself on this one, but at least I get to try.
On that note, SG will not cycle me again after this round and usually they won't go to retrieval with less than 3, but luckily my RE is cool with just 2. Its kind of a shame that they are cutting me off, I was not gonna try again anyway, but I would like to be the one making that decision.
So say my embryos were both 8 cells and perfect looking on day 3, but I did not get pg...then what would I think?
Anyway, thanks for the info!

38 yrs. DOR, TTC since '04, recommended DE but didn't listen 3 IVF's & 1 FET: 1 cancellation, 1 m/c @ 12 wks, 1 chemical, 1 miracle boy & miracle 'natural' PG right now while waiting to cycle (WTF?)

Lynniecat -- If you still make mature eggs that fertilize and grow to be near perfect 8 cell embies. Then I think your chances are better than your average 44 year old. My OB is now 46 but she had two kids via IVF using her own eggs at 42 and 44! She also recently told me she delivered a baby (natural conception) for a 46 year old woman. She said she's seeing more and more in the 40-45 age group. I really do think it's possible!

She tried CCRM a few years ago.
