blairwh58: I don't think there is a set time before your next AF arrives after a miscarriage. It can be different for everyone depending on a variety of factors including how far along you were and when your HCG drops enough. I had a period 2 weeks after I miscarried and had a D&C. I think it went back to normal after that.

AFM: I met w/RE today and got a tentative calender for our FET. I will start BCP when AF arrives around Tues or Weds next week. I cannot remember all of the next dates for the next steps after that (I will receive my firmed up calender when I get a little further along). However, our ET should take place about March 11. That is two days earlier than FET we did which produced our son. That was done on Friday March 13. I remember because it was Friday the 13th and I told someone that my grandma always said Friday the 13th was lucky. I am soooo excited to get started.

Blair- I hear what you are saying on "normal". This last one went 30 days, I have always been right on 26 or 27 and never late. I'm thinking I will be right on time this month though. Due to the cyst I could tell I ovulated a little early, so I think I am back on track.

Just kinda stumbled upon this website. We are doing invitro feb/march also. We start stemming 2/6 and transfer will be around 2/17. I have a six year old daughter that we had naturally with no problem, but trying to have another has been a nightmare. We had one failed IUI in May and upon further testing my Fertility doc found out I have MTHFR mutation and that is why I am not able to stay pregnant, although I only know of 3 losses.

IVF is expensive, and I am super scared I am going to get my hopes up and this not happen. When the doc looked at my baseline he said I have 3 follicles on one side and 5 on the other that look promising. Not really sure what any of this means.

I am taking lupron, menapur, and follistim to stem.

Here is something I find mildly amusing: I do accounting work at a heating and ac company. When our CSR's speak with one of our customers, they make note of it in their account. They write TTC (Talked To Customer). However, everytime I see it I see: Trying To Conceive. It gives me a chuckle.

Okay, I'm waiting for AF to show up to get things started.....waiting.....waiting. Now, I'm late. Not pregnant....It's just because I'm wanting it to happen. If I were hoping it were late for some reason, it would have showed up two days ago. Grrr I am also having really bad PMS. I'm liable to rip someone's head off at any moment....It'd better happen by tomorrow or I cannot be held responsible for my own actions.

Mamboo- ohhh I know exactly how you feel. I need AF to show up so I can get things started. I think you and I may end up on similar schedules if you are doing a fresh.

SD- stinks that DH is unavailable to help out with the injections but at least you get to start things! I had the same problem- with one of our first cycles DH did the PIO and then he was busy and couldn't so I had to start doing them all myself. You get used to it but I think the first time I stood in front of the mirror and cried- its a mental obstacle sticking yourself with a needle. Best of luck and keep us posted.

AFM- went in for education day today which was pretty much a waste- as to be expected since its our 4th cycle. But I did get a schedule for how things will go once AF finally comes. I will start lupron on day 22...so hopefully its only about 3 wks before I can start injections. I'm estimating if things continue to take awhile I will have a retrieval around march 7 or so. Just a waiting game now though.

Finally, AF is here. I started BCP today. Tomorrow, I need to schedule my trial ET and a test - sorry I forget what it's called. They put saline solution in your uterus and do ultrasound to make sure all is clear. I had a trial ET before, but since I had my son, they have to do it again. I hate this part, I always cramp badly with this test. The RE was surprised last time I cramped so much. However, does not cause any issue with the cycle.

Blair: I hope AF arrives soon for you too. I am having an FET. However, my ET is tentatively set for 3/11. That is very close to you! However, it may be pushed off 3 days due to my late AF 3 RE's at my clinic. They take turns doing procedures. With a fresh cycle you may have any of the RE's for any given procedure. It just depends on your body and when it's ready. However, there is more control over an FET and they try to schedule that for your particular RE. Therefore, mine would be 3/11 or 3/14 as long as everything else goes well. They'll time it for that.

YEY, I get to start bCp's today. not so much fun but at least it is another step. i start lupron on the 2nd and the deloestrogen on Feb 7.
I'm kind of freaking out. i found out yesterday that for my donors last cycle, her E2 levels got too high and they had to coast her for a few days before ER so that her levels would drop before trigger. I am now so worried that this will happen again, I don't mind coasting for a day or so, my clinic does that all the time. I am just worried that if her levels get too high then they won't go to ER. Either that or they will coast too long and her eggs won't be good. I know on her last cycle they got 30 eggs, and the recipient did get preggo. Still hard for me to sit back and relax. I just want march to get here so all this stuff is over and done with.

I am so jealous of everyone getting things started. I am still here just waiting for AF to show. If I could induce my period to start I would... but I guess I will just keep waiting.

Hi Everyone! I thought I'd introduce myself since I've been lurking

I'm Jamie and brand new to the whole IVF thing and therefore completely overwhelmed I don't really know if I should be on this board or April/May but I figured I'd start here. I am waiting for AF to start BCP probably during the first week of February. I am supposed to be taking Lupron and Gonal-F during the cycle but at this point I honestly don't know which meds are which or what they are for! I'm trying to take it one step at a time so that I can keep relatively calm and optimistic.

So far, reading your stories has given me hope and motivation. Thanks for sharing and being open. I'm sure I'll have tons of questions as the weeks go on, so thanks in advance for your help. In the meantime, I'll be lurking and learning the lingo

jb- welcome to the boards. It doesnt matter when you are planning your IVF you are more than welcome to chat on here anytime. I know how scary and intimidating the 1st cycle can be so its nice to have people here who are going through the same thing. How long have you been TTC and have they figured out why its not working naturally?

SD- Thanks for the dance....try one more time. Glad you are now done with the BCPs and hopefully you get to keep things going.

to_have_fun- Even though BCP arent really an exciting step, its the next step in the process none the less. Youll be doing shots in no time!!

mamaboo- I am really hoping that we end up doing a retrieval/transfer around March 11. Hopefully we will be able to do the 2ww together. Ill warn you now that I like to POAS early.

AFM- So...Can everyone do an AF dance for me sometime today. Ive been patiently waiting but am starting to get very frustrated. I went and bought a HPT just because I figured it would trick my body and Id end up starting my period before I got home from the store. But nothing...and of course the test was negative (no big shock obviously). The miscarriage started 12/15...and D&C was Dec 21 so I feel like its time. I really want to be able to get the ball rolling for this cycle.

Hi AFM! I know what you mean re waiting for AF. I had a d & c following a miscarriage on Oct 5, 2010. AF finally came for a visit 8 weeks later! Hopefully it will come fast for you. Now that I've had 2 periods, I am due for FET after my Feb period, likely 3rd week of Feb... Hang in there...
