Hello girls! I am doing IVF this month also. I start stim meds tomorrow. I would love to have more people to talk to during this time.

Darlene- looks like we are on the same schedule. Today is also day 4 of my meds. How long have you been TTC? What is your protocol? I am taking .075 Lupron, 300 iu of follistim, and 1.5 vial of reponex. My DR has always said that the retrieval is 10-14 days once you start the meds. Then the transfer is 3-5 days afterwards. Mine has always been 3 days. IVF is an emotional process. U have to keep positive and your spirits up.

On day 9 of stimms now, had a scan today but not up to standard yet, have another scan on wednesday.

Treatment On Hold!!!
Went in for egg collection on 14th January. 25 eggs were retrieved. Apparantly I am now at risk of OHSS so continuing with treatment would be dangerous. DH and I very disappointed.
The good news was that they have 4 fertilised eggs to freeze until I am fully recovered (they reckon 3 months).
Had quite alot of pain over the weekend and my stomach is so bloated, I look a few months pregnant.
Having a scan on the 21st to see how my ovaries are doing.

MY FIRST U/S AFTER STARTING THE INJECTIONS WAS YESTERDAY. I HAVE 5 EGGS UP FOR RETRIEVAL. NOT THE BEST NUMBER I GUESS BUT WITH A AMH OF .68 THEY THINK IT IS VERY GOOD. MY RETRIEVAL HAS BEEN MOVED UP TO THIS SUNDAY, PREVIOUSLY WAS GOING TO BE WED. SO I AM SUPER EXCITED, AND CAUTIOUS!

Hi eveyone. Long time no see. Hope eveyone is coping well with life as we know it. Nothing says stress quite like infertility I always say. We are on the brink of a transfer. We had 8 good eggs. Now 6 embys, 4 good and 2 stragglers. It will likely be a day 5 transfer on Sunday. I feel strangely relaxed. My husband was so nervous going to do his bit on Weds, he was a case! I tried to joke with him and say he'd been doing it just fine for 25yrs and what was the big deal but he wasn't amused. Lord mem are big babies sometimes. Try progesterone in oil- now that will separate the men from the boys so to speak. This stuff is a horror. I am limping on both sides!

I am on day 5 of stimulation--ultrasound yesterday showed 12 follicles, but I guess they were too small (??) so they DOUBLED my meds. I keep reading these posts and decided to finally join in--love to connect with people going through the same roller coaster.

tinkerbell- so sorry to hear! but at least you have some frozen. just hang in there thru the waiting time. i know it will be unbearable.

RPH- wow! 12 follicles already! that sounds good. 5th day of stims is still early, so they will definately grow.

Well, i had my retrieval on Wed., they took 11 follicles. just had my transfer this morning (3 day transfer). 6 good embryos. Dr wants to be aggressive so he put all 6 back in. REALLY good news- had 4 embryos at a grade 8, 1 at grade 6, and 1 at grade 4. all looking good. so hopeful. maybe 3rd time is a charm?!
now for the dreaded progesterone oil shots in the bum.... but i have a numbing spray this time so maybe won't be as bad.

gone thru this a couple times now, so if anyone has questions, just holler!

Hi,
it seems the thread becoming busy again. I got my medication this afternoon; I have to take 2 FSH shots a day starting from tomorrow. Depending on the development, I will have to take 3 shots a day later. Very scary!
My husband had fever for the last few days, and he is now in the phase of recovery; I started having a sore throat yesterday; I hope it won't affect the result of stimulations.

Hello Ladies. It is good to see progress out there. Now we need some BFPs! We transferred one emby on Sun. Now the 2WW. We only had one left to freeze. This is our first try. Starting with 8 eggs, 6 fertilized, 4 looked good but only two turned out. Is this less than average?

IM NOT SURE WHAT A GOOD NUMBER IS. I STARTED WITH 5 FOR RETRIEVAL BUT ONCE THE GOT THEM ONLY 2 WERE MATURE ENOUGH FOR FERTILIZATION. 1 FERTILIZED ON ITS OWN AND THE OTHER ONE WAS ARTIFICIALLY DONE. AS OF RIGHT NOW I HAVE 1 DEFINITE FOR TOMORROWS TRANSFER AND HOPEFULLY THE 2ND ONE WILL BE UP TO PAR. SO TOMORROWS THE BIG DAY!!

Good luck Kerri. I was sick once during the Stims as well and I think as long as you don't run a fever you will be fine. Just keep in contact with your dr. And good luck!

I am in the 2ww. Yesterday morning I experienced really severe and sharp shooting pains down low. I know people say this sometimes happens during implantation but these pains were way worse than normal. And it lasted for about 1/2 hr. Then cramping a 1/2 hr afterwards. I am so nervous b/c I had this happen once before and it resulted in chemical preg. trying to stay on the positive side.

BTW- has anyone ever heard of progesterone levels at 150 -200? For the last 4 procedures mine have been that high which seems abnormal.

Hi Ladies,

I am new to this forum. Hope its not too late to join this thread. I am going through ivf #3 this jan 2011. I had 2 day transfer of 3 embies on jan 21st 2011. Currently in 2ww period.
This is not my first time however its the first time i have had (something like) food poisoning. I am not sure if thats what it was...
last night i had abdominal pain and had to go to restroom 5-6 times. then early morning all of a sudden i had severe chills...so much that i had to take 4 blankets and i was still shivering like a leaf!!! Never happened to me before!!
it took about 40 mins or so to calm down and after about 2 hrs i was fine. I though still feel a little tired and out of breath.

I called the doc's office and the nurse thinks it might be a food poisoning. If it really was food poisoning - Should i be concerned? Would that have affected the embryos?

Anyone who know anything about this please share.

praying4another - If your doctor's office did not have any concerns I would try not to worry, I know it is easier said then done. Everyone around me seems to be getting sick, I just keep hoping I will be spared.

thanks for the comment. how far are you now for 2ww? I had chemical last time but I did not have cramps or any sign; keeping postitive is very important. Isn't it progesterone one should take during this 2ww? I thought the level of progesterone is the higher the better during this period?

I thougt the number is not bad, even though it is not high. After all, you need only one or two? I had similar numbers during my previous runs. I was not satisfied but my doc was happy about this. She was a bit reluctant when I asked for a new protocol.
