Hi everyone - my husband was just prescribed a course of antibiotics for a possible sinus infection. do you know if it is OK for him to be on antibiotics during IVF? its not going to affect his sperm sample, is it? or should he wait to start it?
Urghhh - decisions, decisions...
ME 40, DH, 43
#1 IVF BFN
#2 FET DS born
#3 IVF ectopic
#4 FET BFN
#5 FET Chemical
#6 IVF, BFP at 8dpo, beta 215, started out with twins, one vanished at 6 weeks, EDD 9/4/12
LYD10- I think it should be fine for him to be on antibiotics. At the clinic I just switched over to they just prescribed my DH a course of antibiotics to take sometime before the retreival. When we asked why they said that both of us needed to have a course of antibiotics in the past year...since this is IVF #4 I lucked out and already had a few courses. Your husband should be fine though.
My IVF clinic prescribed my DH an antibiotic before our fresh transfer also to prevent any infections. But, I would check with your RE first because every antibiotic is not the same and they should be aware of any medications that both of you are currently on.
I think my clinic made my DH take some before the transfer as well. It will be fine, try not to worry too much!
