Dee --is yours pre-loaded? mine are not so when I did that I just changed needles because I heard u shouldn't stick yourself twice with the same needle and finished the rest of the injection. it'll all work out i'm sure it has happened before.
btw-where r u at in this big world of ours i missed it if u said?

Hi all,

I feel like I'm on menopause! All my reassuring words, yet after just one antagonist injection I feel horrid. Woke up dizzy with a bad headache and total state of confusion.

Amanda - DH is coming home today (It's Friday here) but will prolly fly again next week. He sent an sms before getting on the plane from Johannesburg that he's on his way home to inject me :) I will only find out the date of my ER on February the 7th. meaning by then I will take my 11th antagonist injection. Fun ain't it! And the next in turn is the same stim that caused me OHSS last time. Swell! More to look forward to!!! Happy to hear your DH gets to call everyday, I can only try and imagine how difficult this is when he's away for such long periods of times, and not on just business trips. Wonderful that your MIL and SIL are there and that you take comfort in that. I'm sure he's happy about it enormously, that you have such a strong bond with his side of the family and that they can physically be there with you right now.

Dee - my injections are loaded already so I'm sorry if I sounded smug before, I forgot many other countries get syringes that need to be loaded every time and I realize this complicates things even more.

Kamina - I also tried to eat healthy in October during our first IVF. I'm kinda devided about it because I know it should be helping your body, on the other hand somethings are holding me back: the first that although feeling instantaneously better while eating healthy, I know and am conscious about the effects of these hormones on my body, so I kind of ruin for myself saying it won't matter anyways. Also, again - although actually feeling better, preparing only certain foods means preparation and I don't want it to come to a point where instead of helping me it becomes a stress factor. I made a wonderful smoothy yesterday: a green apple, fresh ginger, a carrot, some pieces of pineapple, put to blender with water and eventually added ice cubes. It's a smooty that originates from some kind of a detox diet I believe and it tasted lovely and made me feel good. Until I woke up this morning like a zombie.

rph - are things alright?

Hi ladies,

Like Dee I also have an ongoing headache. DH returned which immediately made me feel better, though I have to admit my injection yesterday went somewhat better than his today. He was feeling really sorry, it seemed like he did everything right yet there were quite a few drops of blood and the injection spot was bumpy. With the preloaded antagonist one is instructed to only inject the stomach, I wonder how it must feel in the leg! Dee! I'm also bloated and moody! One minute upset the next feeling incredibly unlucky with all this, then I suddenly feel very relaxed and happy.
I know where Giorgia is! Used to be good friends with an Atlanta girl when I lived in Norway. Then she married a Norwegian doctor and moved someplace deep in the woods :D She was a terrific aerobic instructor! I always love southern accent when I hear it on TV, though I realize not all ppl speak with the accent it still sounds very beautiful to me so that's what I think of when the south is reminded . Oh and also "to kill a mocking bird".

I'll now try to get a shut eye, yesterday night I barely could.

Hi all!

Dee, it is great to be at apx. the same stage as you! Today, after the somewhat painful injection yesterday night I felt much better. DH thinks the first day my body just needed getting itself (re)adapted to the yukky stuff. About the sleep!!! Apparently, you experience things very similar to me. During my first IVF I had great difficulties sleeping properly. Normally I have more troubles FALLING asleep, but while on hormones I could not actually neither fall asleep NOR sleep. I read about and also experienced, strangely enough - reoccurring nightmares. Also I had a lot of these (not sure the english/medical term) pains in the muscles around the heart or upper ribcage, that I felt like only breathing would make this worse. Both this and the insomnia worsened when hormonal treatment continued, and it followed into the 2WW while "only" on progesterone suppositories and Estrogen pills. Being bloated also becomes much worse while taking the stims. I think the most positive way to look at it, besides the fantastic outcome, is that each day that goes is one treatment day less and when the entire ordeal doesn't last more than a month and a half - 2WW included - each day counts a lot.

Have a great day, and to the rest of you - where did you all go???

Hello Dee,

Trusting and Kay, the doc has me on the estradiol everyday. With BC I know you are on for 21 days and off for 7. But I am on for the entire time. I never stop taking. Does that sound correct?

Trusting, bed rest is hard. I was on bed rest for a week, I almost lost my mind. Try to have some good books to read. Watch netflix. Watch romantic comedys. Nothing heavy.

Waiting Kay - With the PCOS I hae to watch my sugar or I will not ovulate. It is hard because Im always craving sweets. sigh. Your smoothy sounded great. Yeah, the drugs give me a headache and I feel really loopy. But I guess I can not really complain, you girls are really going through it!!! You've made me feel much better and not sorry for myself.

Hi Dee!

Oh sorry, thought you read in the thread earlier. I'm from Israel, actually returned here after around 12 years in different countries in Europe, mainly Norway. My DH is Israeli and we live rather close to his family, something that sometimes gives birth to bursts from my side (being feisty as I am) that in turn cause me to need and abuse this forum for comfort. I joined exactly in January right my 9 years old younger SIL (married to DH's bro) just had a baby and I tuned it finding out my FET from first IVF resulted again in a chemical pregnancy. SIL keeps on informing me and everyone else how at my age I should just concentrate on other things. (Maybe she means folk dancing for the elderly, I didn't bother asking her) so I felt I needed objective shoulders to lament to. Everything that you are describing sound totally normal to me. The heart thingy was scary because when it was late at night and hubby was fast asleep and I couldn't this was not the type of pain I easily related to the treatment. But now I know of it and anticipate it (with no passion). You are lucky to already see your RE this Monday. I have to take LH, E2 and progesterone blood work on Monday the 7th, then at 4 PM that same day I have my appointment to RE when he'll both perform U/S, inform me about the ER date (I believe around the 21'st, ) and will prescribe me my favorites of all times that last time cause me OHSS - the stim meds.
I am more than thrilled to chat, and it's incredible that we're so synchronized with times. Will be very exciting!!!

Ladies-

Sorry, have been working a ton (and when I'm not working I'm getting accupuncture, or ultrasounds, or bloodwork), but I couldn't wait to see how everyone was doing and I really do love having all of you for support. When did you guys tell your families about everything? I've only told my sister, and my MIL knows cause she had to pick up some medicine for me one night....I keep going back and forth about if I want anyone to know.

I did my HCG tonight and egg retrieval is set for Monday....so nervous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dee and K- YAY! Congrats on starting the cycle!!! I also had problems staying asleep--I hope it goes away now that I've stopped the injections. Can't wait to hear how it's progressing!

Dee-
One night I forgot to keep the follistim pen in my skin for 5 seconds (don't know if you ladies have taken that one but it squirts out after you push it down) and I squirted it all over myself. My ER is MONDAY and everything moved along well so no worries if you fudge one shot! And I had/have crazy mood swings (I'm generally pretty even)--at least we can blame it on the drugs!

K-
Glad DH is coming home soon!

Kamina-
I think the BC the whole time is fine--every doctor is different.

Amanda-
Hoping to hear how you are soon...
