purplefish- congrats on your healthy babies. They are just beautiful. I'm glad you are all home and that you were ready.

AFM- I spent the day in triage with contractions 3 mins apart but not dilating any further than 1cm. SOOOOOO back home now. On Wednesday I had my last appt with the peri. Baby girl is measuring 39w and 8lb9oz. She's ready to go. They said she is surrounded by too much fluid though and they are talking about a scheduled c-section. However, after today's events...maybe she will just come on her own?

Hi ladies
I have a quick question ? Has anyone done any research on the SIDS monitors? WE are trying to get some before the twins come home and keep getting conflicting information. If anyone has any info can you send it my way?
Thanks hope everyone is well :D

Kitty- My sister-in-law used the angelcare monitor and LOVED it. Her son would only sleep on his stomach so the pediatrician suggested that monitor. She said it only went off twice. Once when she forgot to turn it off and took him out of the room and off the monitor. Once when the little wiggle worm weaseled his way off of it. But she said it does work as advertised and she was very happy with it.

Kamaile - I am so happy for you! I am sorry about your ribs that has to be so hard!

The babies and I are doing great! I am feeling almost recovered from my c-section. I still can't lift obviously, but the incision has healed and I am headed out and walking around. The little ones are still learning day from night, so we are feeling a little tired, but very happy and grateful.

How is everyone else feeling?

Mev- Congrats and good luck honey. I am so happy for you. My little girl is still snug as a bug. They have diagnosed me with polyhydramnios. (too much amniotic fluid) They are worried about a cord prolapse or a placenta abruption. I am getting NST twice a week, a once a week fluid check and once a week OB. SIGH.... next appt is Tue. I was having strong contractions tonight but they stopped after 40 mins. Maybe it's because I had brownies for dinner??? :D I still have not gained one pound. I just want her out.
Anyhow, I can't believe you kept those twins in until 38w. Dang you and purple are my heroes! I can't wait for updates! XOXO

hi ladies!!

mev - good luck today!!! this is so exciting, you are going to meet your two little miracles!! hope all goes well and pls keep us updated!!

purple - your twins are ADORABLE! i am so glad you are recovering from the c-section so well, and that you all are settled down at home. how are you managing the older kids and the twins together? was DH able to take much time off to be with you?

pa-fa - sorry to hear about your amniotic liquid levels and all those exams you have to go thru... have they discussed inducing you early? you are so close!!! is DH done travelling or is he still flying around the world?

franca - hang in there, you are almost there!!

kitty - thinking of you!! hope the little ones are growing well and ready to go home!

AFM - sorry i have been MIA, i have been sooo busy trying to get the house together for the twins - including our kitchen remodel after the flood - interviewing the nannies and getting paperwork in order (working on getting the twins lined-up to get their french citizenship, increasing our life insurance, etc). i have been feeling great -- 33 weeks 4 days and counting :) we have an OB apt and our prenatal apt w/ the pediatrician.

Juila- They have been saying they can't induce because she can't engage. So we find out tomorrow if it will be a planned c-section...or when, more likely. Hubby starts flying on Wednesday but is staying in the states. Doesn't really do me a lot of good. There is another major storm coming so when he goes he may not be able to get back if I were to go into labor on my own.
Are you guys moving to France? Did I miss that somewhere? You mention French citizenship.

Hope you all are well!

pa-fa - hoping for good news for you tomorrow!! c-section or not, your little girl is being well monitored so she'll be fine, and that's all that matters, right?? i can't imagine how stressful it must be to have DH fly so late into your pregnancy... i'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that he stays out of all the bad storms and come on safely and on schedule so he can be by your side for the baby's arrival!! NO, we are not moving to france... at least not now :) i am french (born & raised) so want to make sure the twins get their french citizenship in case we decide to relocate some day. it's pretty easy to do, but it needs to be done within 30 days after their birth, and the atlanta french consulate does not make it easy to figure out how to do it by mail instead of in person... i am slowly gathering all the paperwork and spending way too much time on the phone w/ the consulate figuring out the details. we could take care of it outside of the 30 day window, but it's 10 times as much paperwork (french-style!), so it would make my life so much easier if i could get all arranged now... at least that little project is helping me keep my mind off of counting minutes left til i meet my 2 little miracles...
take care and fingers crossed for good news for you tomorrow!
