AFM- just as I was recovering from a horrible periods, the pain of the growing follicles started(thx to my endo) so I literally didn't get a break...counting my days till ER( most probably on sat) for this symptoms to subside..and I'm really praying to god for a bfp as I can't imagine 1 more horrible periods pain in a row!! I'm tired and exhausted and sleep deprived..taking the day off from work..

Anton- We'd love to come to Cyprus one day. It's so close - on a good day, you can see Cyprus from the cliffs in Haifa. I'll ask your advice on what to do/see! Your clinic sounds so nice and organized.... I think the biggest problem with mine is that it is run, staffed and attended by Israelis - who are a lovely people, but terrible with the concept of 'waiting in line'. Oh well... my IVF is free - I can't complain about the lines too much!

Lou - sorry your PMA is MIA (this is like a secret code!). I love the S&S abbreviation - do you remember who came up with that? People are crediting *me* with the "WTF appt" phrase, but I could have sworn I saw someone else say it first, but can't remember where.... oh well - it's like being famous! ----- you are such a strong lady. I'm really hoping for a BFP for you, but even if it's not, you'll have a good cry over the weekend and learn to move on with your life. <hugs>

Kristin - GREAT! x5 in 3 days? That's fantastic! When do you get an u/s to see that cute little guy?

Rio - people think that living in vacation destinations is like living on vacation all the time! I live in a huge tourist city (mostly religious tourists, but still) --- but trust me, most of my day is just like yours! Waking up, showering, cup of coffee, bitching about traffic and talking about TV shows with co-workers. You live in San Fran? My husband is from Palo Alto! I've never been to California, which he thinks is a travesty. We plan to go to NoCal one day....

Lauren 1711 - it usually snows once a year here - and EVERYTHING shuts down (even if there are just flurries). We have been DYING to take our dog out in the snow! He is 2.5 years old and has never seen snow! No snow for the last 2 years! He *hates* the rain - refuses to walk in it at all. If we try to walk him in the rain, he just runs from under a bench to under a bush to under a trash can to stay dry!

LYD10 - sounds good! I'm right behind you - first S&S tomorrow!

Hope - stiches on your head? The day before your wedding? That must be a fun story! I'll ask about the swimming... CONGRATS on such good embryos! Would you consider transferring one because they are so great?

AFM -- I have the BEST husband in the world. A little background - I LOVE birthdays. Mine is July 31. I always plan a huge party. My best friend's is July 30 - so we usually do a joint party. ANYWAY - I went to the mall after work with a friend. When I came home, there was a surprise HALF-BIRTHDAY party waiting for me! DH did everything! Decorated, bought a cake and tons of junk food, cooked dinner, invited all of our friends, bought presents - including a birthday girl tiara for me! He has been planning this for WEEKS! Isn't he amazing? He didn't know (neither did I) that this would co-incide with starting our new cycle, but it feels like such a good start. For my real birthday party this year (July 31, 2010), I got a BFP the next day.... so hopefully a super fun birthday party brings me good luck. It was so fun and random to have 10 people over on a Monday night for cake and songs! AAaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh - I'm in heaven! The S&S tomorrow is totally off my mind.

Also - I was worried my AF wasn't heavy enough - I was really light. But now, regular flow! Hurrah!

Hi ladies,

Embies are looking good. Scheduled for a day 5 transfer on Wednesday. A little nervous b/c like with Lou, we're expecting bad weather Tues into Wednesday. Why the heck did I decide to do this into the winter months?? It's supposed to snow and possible freezing rain...which has me nervous. Ugh.

So question for all - I kind of understand the day 3 and day 5 concepts...but what does it really mean? Do you have a better chance of conceiving on one vs. the other? Is one better. RE didn't give me any cell counts, just told me my 5 embies are still going strong. Just curious what I should expect and/or ask. No Beta date scheduled yet.

Leora - I wish someone celebrated my half birthday!! I'm a July baby too so they just missed mine As a consulation, I'll take a BFP instead

July baby here also - July 7. We also married on our birthday - 7/7/07 at 7 pm. I have one son born on the 7th day (December) and another born in the 7th month of July like me also. So I like to think 7 is a lucky number, as well as 13 for some reason. Leora... WHEN you get pregnant this cycle, maybe you can have a baby on 11/11/11 !!!

anton- Our RE is usually conservative, but he is being aggressive with me. He said at the ET I was an interesting case. I would much rather be non-interesting..lol. Love your pic

AFM: Beta is 2/11 I am doing the progestrone shots and the heparin shots. This is going to be a long 2 ww. We did 4 last time and ended up with a chemical. Yes I will POAS as soon as I can. It is funny when I first went to the RE the nurse was like now don't cheat and this time she is like please cheat & call me as soon as you know..lol

Hope - What incredible news, will you transfer 2 blasts?

Kimber - wow - usually you want to transfer all the best ones and being able to take them to day 5 will let them know which ones out of the bunch are best. I never had enough to go to day 5 so all of mine were day 3, they also tend to transfer less embryos on day 5 then day 3. good luck!

Leora- I think it was Franny (Turtle) who started the SnS thing. I remember starting the WTF when Lauren got her BFN and went to go see her RE, I could be wrong but don't remember seeing it before, I thought it was funny since it was a preiod when we were all being potty mouths on the board! I live near San Francisco and lived in Rio growing up so I hear ya on that! Your DH is awesome!!!!! What a sweetie! BTW what a lucky day 7/31, my EDD! Your BFP is coming - I know it!

Sorry girls...real quick update for now and then I'll have to read and catch up tomorrow with everyone. I hope everyone is doing well.

Went to my SnS this morning. I have 9 possible follicles that are going to be ready. More realistically 7 or 8 mature ones. This is fantastic for me. We were debating between ER being Wed or Thurs because my follies range from 11.5 to 20.5...however then my E2 level came back only a 679...so we decided to obviously wait till Thursday for ER. I go back in tomorrow morning for another SnS and then trigger tomorrow night...I think regardless. I'm actually glad ER isnt Wednesday morning cause it probably would have taken us 3-4 hrs in the snow/ice storm to get there. We talked about going a day early and getting a hotel, but now we dont have to worry so much. The roads should be better on Thursday. To all who are going to be affected by this storm...please please be careful. xoxo

Quick post..sorry ladies...I have a lot to catch up on! I will just add that I am also a July baby (7/26) and Carol--DH and I special "we are now a couple date" was 7/7/07...your anniversary.

My AFC was 16. My labs didn't actually get accomplished STAT as they were supposed to--despite my traveling to 3 different labs! so I won't hear back from the nurses until tomorrow. Hoping all is a go and I get my instructions tomorrow afternoon.

I am teaching all day tomorrow...but I will try to catch up with all you strong ladies during a break! I gotta get to bed to get some sleep or I will look like an idiot tomorrow.

Sounds like lots of wonderful things abrewing!! Keep it up everyone!!

hopeisallIhave-excellent news on your embies! iam so happy for you! how many are you planning on transfering? thank you for the pic advice! i will try and not paste a "poster" instead! glad it made sense to someone the wedding thing. I guess only someone in our situation could understand that we will see how it goes. hopefully this cycle (starting end of month) will bring us a BFP so we can then find a weding date...for now, making a baby is a priority for us

Rio-thanks for your comment on my pic. as Leorina said about vacations destinations, people who leave in such a place doesn't mean that they are on vacation all the time! ...but I am not complaining. Life is sweet and all Iam missing is a baby! then I am sure be living in paradise!!! as for what i do for a living, well, I have a Higher Diploma in Graphics and Advertising Desigh, a Higher Diploma in Psychology and a BA in Marketing. I have worked 6 years in an adv agency at client service dept. and the last 7years I've been working as Marketing Manager in one of the biggest FMCG distributors in the island. For the last year and a half I got promoted into the fragrances dept. with Christian Dior and I was the marketig manager of John Varvatos fragrances. unfortunatelly, the company in Greece changed hands (it moved from the house of Shisheido to Elizabeth Arden) so we lost the distribution and so the company had to let me go (redundancy). they had offered me a part time job in PR but i didnt take it. this happend in May during my 3rd IVF attempt. you cannot imagine how stressfull and dissapointing that period was. i was in hell!! the management knew that i was stimming that period but they acted so unhuman to me and they just didn't care. my boss (woman) was pregnant at that time and she went through similar situations like me to have a baby and she made it. she had to stay in bed for all the 9 months and right when she got back, 6 months after she got pregnant again naturaly this time and again she had to stay home. this happend the same time when my thing was going on. iam sure the management thought that they couldn't affort another pregnant in the department staying at home too (if i had a BFP there was a risk i might stay home too) so they had to let me go. I know! they are piggs!!!! the least I could say.they paid me 2months in advance (which was the amount for 7years of working with them) and nothing else! that was the thank you from all those years of staying late working my ass off! i made a claim at the social securities get redunduncy money and I am waiting. of course that cycle ended in a BFN!! i wasn't expecting anything else after what i have been through. so we dicided that I stay home and rest for the summer and then we did the 4th IVF in Oct which was again a BFN and so here we are now trying our 5th IVF. i am geting paid from social insurances and i will get paid for another 2 months. i am not looking for a job right but i am working as a volunteer in a care home with people that are Mentaly disable (schizophrenic, paranoid, severe depresion syndromes etc). I do occupational therapy for them almost every afternoon and this has been a great help for my personal ivf journey. i love helping these people and it made me realize that there is so much worse situations and emotional wreckage than what we are going through. ...i hope that with all these BFN i get i dont end up in there one day! we shall see how this cycle goes and then I go searching for job. my DH doesn't want me to start now that we are close to our cycle . he wants me to me calm and get ready for our baby/babies

Lauren-I know what you mean ...mine comes and frm felling guilty bcause he sais its bcause of him that Iam going through ivf (MF) so he wants to be part of the procedure as much as possible. he is an angel he is a Professor of Sociology in a University so its very convenient so far, with the timing on the doctors appt. he doesn't have classes 8hrs a day. as for the parking, the clinic has a private parking place for all its patients/visitors free of charge so no staying in the car waiting

Leorina-hey i knew that women in Israel are doing IVF for free! i think is free until you manage to make 2 babies and is free no matter how many times you have tried to make them. you are so lucky dear! and I am happy for you for that! here in Cyprus there is no insurance company that even consider paying a part of ivf . i saw that one day on a tv programme and it inspired me to write a letter to the health minister complaining about the non existing support from the goverment on this issue...i havent heard back from him yet... so far we have paid around $24.000 in IVF and for this cycle 5th IVF we are planning on spending another 7.000$ to this new RE. let these baby/babies come healthy...and there is no college tuition for them. they will have to work them selves to college! btw, that was realy sweet what your DH made for your birthday!! Bravo to him!! i guess we are both very lucky to have such carring and supporting partners! i cant complain!

Kimber-Awesome news on your embies! how many will you transfer? the day 5 ones are in the blastocyst stage which is the next level of formation more advance level than the 3 day embryos. the day 5 ones seem to be stronger to survive...the day 5 embryos you do only if you have more than 3 good embryos. this is what iam planning to do in this cycle (if i have plenty of embies) hope everything goes well for you! keep us posted! you are looking good girl! thing BFP!

Also my DH is with your DH, I don't make him go to the blood and ultrasounds because he works 6 days a week and there really isn't any reason for him to go. Thee last two times he hasn't even gone to the WTF appointments. He wants to go to this one though as he's more vocal than me and will say stuff I don't dare too.

It's just too much and I want to start living my life again and doing fun stuff.
