hi mommies!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry I havent updated. Cant believe how much these two little ones run my life!
I will make personals quick and Im sorry if i miss anyone
PA-FA-I was worried about you with all this snow. I hoe that baby girl doesnt make her grand entrance in a blizzard! Not long now! Thanks for the monitor info that was the one we ended up getting.

Purple-How it going twin mom x2. I cant even imagine

Mev-My twin. I assume you have met your little ones by now. Cant wait to hear all about them.

Julia-Hope you got all the paperwork in order. Less than 7 weeks :)

Franca-I think your C sec was today? thinking of you!

AFM-Danny is home from the hospital :) Leigh is still in she was all set to be discharged when she hit 4 pounds but the night before her release she had a breathing spell and her heart rate dropped so she bought herself at least another week in the NICU. Poor baby girl but the docs assure me that it is all normal for her age/size. She's now 4.8 lbs and he's 5.11 I cant beleive they are a month old tomorrow!

Be well ladies

jenice- I'm 38w 2d today. My OB says if I go into labor now it will be a C because the baby is not engaged. I guess I will find out more on Tue at my next appt. Right now he says that nothing will happen any time soon. I'm only 1cm dilated and DH is out of town until Saturday.

Franca - congrats! How are you and baby girl doing?

PA - you are getting closer! I hope that baby will wait until your hubby is home! Hopefully the baby will engage before you go into labor. I am sure you are ready for something to happen=)

Jenice - 36 weeks is great! My first set was born then. You should be thrilled to have made it this far. Now you have a new set of appointments to look forward to! I think the checkups are actually fun (minus the shots), it is neat to see how much they grow.

I am so happy one of your babies is home! I hope Leigh gets to join you soon! It will be nice to have both babies at home with you.... then you really won't have any free time=)

julia - I am sure you are more than ready to meet your little ones, but I hope they stay in a lot longer for you. Hopefully you can get all your paperwork in order, so you have one less thing to stress about. Have you found a nanny yet?

AFM - we had our first real night of sleep last night. Both babies slept a 4 hour stretch at the same time... it was a little slice of heaven. I am feeling pretty much recovered from my c-section. My OB check me out yesterday and couldn't believe how quickly I healed. I told him it was way more comfortable than being 38 weeks pregnant with twins=) I had an oh so fun trip to the ER. My older son fell in a parking lot and managed to bonk his head on the gravel and it needed to be glued together. So imagine me and my mom and all four kids sitting in the ER... it was not fun, thank goodness my mom was there. I am very lucky to have help for another week. My dad is coming and my mom will stay too. Anyway... lots of crying downstairs... I had better run.

Purple- Your poor baby's head. How is his bump going? Was he scared in the ER or fascinated by it? Hopefully it wasn't too bad for him.

AFM- My c- section is scheduled for tomorrow. After my NST, fluid check and OB they had me go back for another sono to get a weight check. Baby girl is weighing in at 9lb13oz. She is still very high up and not engaged so they scheduled a c. In 24 hours I will be at the hospital getting ready for surgery. OMG I can't believe I finally get to be a mommy tomorrow. I'm so excited.
I hope everyone is doing great. Much love. XOXO

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been on lately. As you can imagine, life has been busy! It's all about eating, sleeping, and changing diapers!

I had my scheduled c-section on Jan 31st. I delivered a Baby Boy, Emmanuel, at 9:28a he weighed 5 lbs 11 oz & measured 19.25 in. Our Baby Girl, Angeliki, came at 9:29a and she weighed 5 lbs 1 oz & measured 18 in.

The delivery went well, I ended up having a complication that night with excessive bleeding from a hemorrhage which later required me to get a blood transfusion of 2 units of blood. It took me a couple of days to recover and of course we were relegated to stay in the hospital during the big blizzard here in Chicago, but I'm happy to say that we're all doing well. We came home on Feb 3rd. And just trying to keep up with all the eating, sleeping, and diapers!

I'd say our biggest challenge has been feeding. I started them on breastfeeding only for the first four days, but then they weren't giving us enough diapers so we've also been supplementing them with formula. We had our first pediatrician visit last Wednesday and they're still underweight, so we'll be going in for weekly weigh-ins until the doctors are happy with their progress.

Other than that, we are so in love and so grateful to have them here in our lives. Everyone once in awhile I do remind myself how long it took for us to get here to be parents, and so happy we persevered because I not only embrace being a mom but don't know what I'd do without my "two". Thank you all for being here during the pregnancy and birth. It's been an amazing journey and I appreciate having each of you to share it with, who I felt really understands what it took to get here.

I will have to catch up on personals later, hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their little ones as we are :)

hi mamas!! how are you all doing?

pa-fa - congrats on the arrival of your beautiful daughter addison... it's such a pretty name! wow she really was a big girl! hope you are recovering well, and enjoying your new life as a family... when is DH is going out of town?

franca - congrats to you too mama!! how is elizabeth doing? hope you are recovering from the c/s...

jenice - well it's just you and i still standing! how are you doing? do you have a date from your OB yet? i bet you are ready to meet your little boy!! and ready to not be pregnant anymore (these last days are soooo long, aren't they??)

mev - that picture of your twins is so adorable! angeliki and emmanuel are such pretty names! sorry you had that bleeding scare post-delivery, but it sounds like you were well taken care of... how are you adjusting to motherhood? do you have a lot of help at home with the twins?

purple - a real night of sleep, 4 hours?? oh my i know it's coming but it's still so hard to imagine! so sorry about your trip to the ER, how old is your little boy? i can't imagine having to sit in the ER w/ 4 little ones... hopefully they did not keep you waiting too long... you are a true twin-super-mama, now recovering from the c/s within days/ weeks... so glad you are already feeling better :)

kitty - hope the babies are home with you now and doing well!

afm - well, almost 37 weeks, and still pregnant! at last week's u/s they estimated the twins to weigh in at 6 lbs 6 oz and 6 lbs 7 oz. so i guess that's about 7 lbs each by now... i definitely feel more and more uncomfortable and more tired every day, but i can still function. i am still working - thankfully, working from home so i don't have to put on career-wear or bother with make up & hair, i spend most of my time on computer/ conference calls. once i am done w/ work all i want to do is nap. DH has been great doing so much around the house, he is awesome. he can't wait to be a dad... i am both scared and can't wait to meet our little ones. baby A is breech so it's definitely going to be a c-section for us. they'll give us a date for the c/s nxt week if i am still pregnant. i had convinced myself that the babies would have arrived yesterday (2 babies on two-sday 2.22) but nope, no signs of them yet!

good luck everyone!!

Wish me luck, hugs to all :D

jenice - hooray! I thought the c-section was easier the second time around.

julia - are you still hanging in there or do you have two new babies?

Our little ones are doing better. They are still waking up often to feed at night, but they are going right back to sleep now and not partying all night long. They have also started in the past two days giving us one 4.5 to 5 hour stretch!!! Woo-hoo. For you new parents according to the doctor 5 hours is officially sleeping through the night... not nearly enough sleep but better than three hours!
I ordered the weego twin carrier last week and am anxiously waiting for it to arrive. I am really hoping that it helps give me some hands free ability. I tried the moby wrap, which they love individually, but with them both in it, all I do is keep them from bashing heads together, so it is not really hands free. The weego carrier was expensive, so I am hoping that it isn't a dud. I will let you other twin mommas know what I think of it. One of our major issues right now is that Russell hates his carseat. He screams bloody murder every time we put him in it. I am hoping the carrier will give us me way to get out (without my husband) and without a stroller. I hope you guys are all doing well! I think of everyone often, but I am sure like me you guys are all busy!

Hi there! I hope everyone is doing well.

Jenice - Congratulations! I can't wait to hear updates, stats, and see some pictures!

Julia - Thinking of you, hope all is going well!

Purplefish - Glad to hear that the babies are giving you some rest. Our two typically give us a 4-hour stint overnight which has been great. They feed every 3 hours, but considering it takes me about 1 1/2 hours to feed them (breastfeed 15 mins then formula feed) especially when you account for burping, diaper changes, possible outfit change depending on spit up or blow out. It's crazy, but I LOVE it. It helps that babies are so cute and cuddly.

I can't believe my Two are a month old now. We've been very fortunate to have help the first month, first my sister for 10 days and my parents for 2 weeks. But my parents just left yesterday so today is my first official day completely on my own!
My husband and I were lucky enough to go out last night, he had a special event and we have two pregnant friends who were available to babysit so I could join him. (I would have felt awful asking one person to watch twin newborns!) It felt so great to dress up, put on make-up, wear heels (it's been months!), drink a glass of wine (it's been almost a year!) and to have conversations with adults that didn't include the words "poop" or "pee"! LOL A night out was refreshing and it energized me to tackle my first day on my own!

The Two had their one-month check-up on Monday. Emmanuel is now 7 lbs 13 oz and Angeliki is 6 lbs 13 oz. Here is a picture of our Two at one month old. (By the way, love these monthly stickers I bought from stickybellies.com - perfect for capturing these milestones!)
