Gina - GREAT pics of your boys, so cute!! And YAY for the SCH shrinking!

Wanababy - Great bump picture! And yes, I never thought about it but it definitely looks bigger when I look down at my belly.

Karin - I agree with Mellow on the stretch marks. I had lots of stretch marks with my first two (just like my mom) so we'll just have to see if I get brand new ones with this baby. I'm drinking lots of water & using my Palmer's every day to try to prevent new ones as much as possible but I think a lot of it is in the genes.

Freckles - Good luck at your appointment today! Hope all goes well.

Gina-GREAT picture of your boys! They are so darn cute! And I am so happy to hear that your SCH has gotten smaller.

Mellow-That's so awesome that you can hear their little heartbeats all the time at home! And woo-hoo for uneventful!!!!

Zoe-Congrats for making it to 9 weeks!

Karin-A mother's job to worry! Mine actually doesn't outwardly worry at all! Sometimes she seems like she doesn't care, but she really, really does, she just internalizes everything. I grew up with that-so I have turned into a very mellow person...we'll see when the babies get here! Too little to carry twins? I certainly don't have that issue!!!!

Freckles...Thinking about you today. Check in and let us know how it goes!

Wanababy-Welcome and congrats on the twins! 2 more girls, huh? You lucky lady!!!!!

Stephanie...COngrats on the 2 boys!!!! I sure hope you stayed home yesterday! It was terrible all over Illinois! My school closed and they haven't closed since 1999! And the hunger hit me yesterday-I ate ALL DAY LONG...it was out of control!

AFM...I haven't thrown up in 3 days now (knock on wood) and am feeling almost human! I was soooo hungry all day long yesterday and just ate and ate and ate! I actually gained a whole pound! But that was from the 12 I lost being sick-so I think I will be ok. I'm home on another snow day today, 19 inches where I live, and I think I am going to meet my mom for lunch. I haven't really seen her since NYE becuase I have just felt so awful! Every time one of you find out the sex of the baby I tell DH and he is getting SO anxious! We want to know do badly! DH is such a boy and everyone is telling him that he isn going to get 2 girls to work on cars, hunt and fish with. He is getting a little scared! I can't wait to know either. I don't care what they are, but I want to know if my feeling is right about 1 of each! Here is my bump...it's a week old already and I feel like they've grown since then. So it is from 10w2d.

Question:
I remember asking this when I was pg with one baby but I feel like it is a different question when pregnant with 2 or more . . . when is it OK to start wearing maternity clothes with twins- the kind that make it obvious to everyone you are pregnant? My bump can still be hidden but its such an effort and my choices of clothes are really limited . . . most of the stuff I have that fits is delicate or dry clean only. I am jut too tired and sick to deal with that kind of labor intensity AND raise a challenging three year old, two large dogs and keep my husband from drowning us in clutter. I don't want to be too obvious too early because what if something goes wrong-I'm only 9 weeks? PLus I'm not quite big enough to fill them out - don't want to look silly- but maternity clothes fit much more comfortably with no rubber bands, safety pins etc..

Ryann......So glad you're feeling better! :D Maybe you're over the hump! Your bump is so cute! You look small too.

Deidre......I've been using bio oil on my tummy and cocoa butter on boobs, butt and thighs. I feel like a slathered mess sometimes. I've never heard of happy event and will be googling it later. Your bump pic is cute. It's still little for 19 wks. You must be doing good in your eating habits. That's about how mine looks now and I'm 13w5d. I'm worried it's going to get out-of-control.

Freckles....Praying for you and sending positive thoughts your way.

Zoe.....I think you should wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Have you told everyone yet or are you keeping it a secret. I think that if everyone knows, then it's not a problem. I looked at maternity clothes the other day and decided to wait until I really need them. I'm in the house alot anyway. I wear pj's and sweats most of the time, so it doesn't really matter. I did go to GapBody and buy a comfy new baggy sweats outfit. I think i will get lots of wear out of it.

Gina.....Gorgeous boys you have there!

Klinger......How's your little one?

AFM......I was wondering if any of you are taking or planning on taking a prenatal fitness class. I really want to take one when I start to feel like I have more energy. I want to talk to my OB about it first and get the okay. I use to workout regularly until I started the whole IVF process and then then gym took a back seat to ttc. I did do yoga for a while and always did a few walks a day with my dog. Since I've been preggo, I haven't felt like doing anything. I feel like the laziest person on the planet and that is not like me.

Karin - I want to get back to exercising, too but have felt too sick and crappy. AND it's too cold to exercise outside and my fancy gym membership expired on 1/10 ( a year membership was a gift from MIL last year). We're not sure what to do now . . . don't know if I can go back to YMCA now - too far, not as nice, too crowded, etc. Problem is how to find it in budget to pay for fancy healthclub as MIL shows no signs of renwing the membership, though she has joined herself (I doubt she goes)!
I went to gym a couple of weeks ago and lasted only 15 mins on treadmill and 5-10 minutes of strength/flex exercises. I am also a yoga lover but avoided it while my sciatica was acting up. Exercise keeps my anxiety/depression at bay and also keeps the sciatica under control. The chiropractor says I have to get back to exercise soon or they won't let me exercise at all! I don't think that is true. I started walking at 20 weeks when pregnant with DS -and walked up to 3 hrs a day until the day before I delivered. I guess it depends on how one's pregnancy is going.
AGree that checking with Doc is a good idea before starting! Would love a prenatal class - they sound relaxing.

Twin Mamas, I was told that if you are going to do any exercising, it should just be walking or light yoga, and that they will likely make you stop doing much of anything other than walking in the last trimester. I think it depends on your Dr., but there is concern that to much excursion can cause contracting, and so on...and since twins have a tendency to come early...they like to limit activity. Ask your Dr. and see what they say, it's up to them, and how you are responding to it. :)

Thanks for the advice, Mellow - certainly don't want to bring on PTL . . . will definitely follow doc's advice and be super careful!!

Wondering . . . do most twin mamas who make it past 36 weeks end up on bed rest?? Or at least be ordered to stop working by 36 weeks? From the couple of books I've read and the many posts from multiple mamas, it seems that if you make it to nearly 40 weeks you were on bed rest. Would you say this is true? Trying to get and idea of what I should plan for . . .

zoegirl~ According to my Dr., most twins are born at 36 weeks. He said they don't like to go past 38 weeks and will induce, because in twin pregnancies the placentas stop being as functional around 38 weeks. He also said to expect to be on limited activity the last trimester. So, likely you will be asked to stop working much sooner than 36 weeks, to keep the little ones where they belong. :) I will very likely be on bed rest the entire last trimester, my kiddo's like to come a little early, and I have issues with contractions early on. It's hard to say what will happen for you, each of us are different. But, what from what the Dr. said, expect to see the babies around 36 weeks, and be really happy if they make it longer to 38. My due date is August 8, but he will deliver us by the 24th of July, if they haven't come by then.

Zoe-my doc has already told me I need to be done working by 24 weeks and on 80% bedrest. Tha suprised me because I've had a pretty uneventful pregnancy (aside from 1 bleeding episode) but he said baby A attached low and baby B right on top of A, so A puts his/her weight on B. So 24 weeks is May 2 for me, and the end of the school year is June 20-something. I'm still thinking MAYBE if all looks good still he will let me continue, but I'm planning on being done by May 2.

Gina - Your boys are BEAUTIFUL!!! Isn't it so funny to watch them interact? I'm so happy to hear your bleed is shrinking, that's such a relief!

Karin - I'm with you on the laziest person on the planet feeling! I've just short of begged my OB to give me the go ahead to at least walk on a treadmill for an hour a few days a week, but thanks to the SCHs, she said absolutely not. :x Especially with twins, I don't want my body to fall apart. It's scary to think of the amount of time I will need to spend in the gym after the boys are born, but won't have the time because I'm going to have two new babies...

Ryann - Yay for no puking and being able to eat again!!! What kinds of food are you craving? I actually did go in to work last night. We're down by the University of Illinois, so we only got a massive sleeting and about 4 inches of snow. Damn snow stayed just west of us. By the time I went in, major streets were mostly clear. Your bump is ADORABLE!!!

Wanababy - Agreed, HUGE bump from the top view, just big from the profile view. LOVE the bump pic!!!

afm - I had a bit of a scare that started Tuesday morning and lasted through last night. Of course, with the crappy weather, my OB's office was closed and I had to wing it over the phone with a Patient Advisory nurse and the on call OB. Basically, I started having Braxton-Hicks and LOTS of discomfort on Tuesday, so I put myself on moderate bed rest and really pushed the water, which definitely helped. Yesterday morning was even worse. The pressure was bad enough to wake me up repeatedly in the morning. It didn't get any better with the self prescribed bed rest and extra water. My lower abdomen was actually getting tight and hard. I was thisclose to going to the ER... Thank goodness everything started feeling better over the course of the evening and this morning I feel fine.

I called my OB's office today and one of her nurses told me that I did exactly what they would've suggested and to be sure to keep track of how many I have in an hour. She also said that though it may sound silly, she feels the storm that moved through may have had something to do with it, too! Something about the barometric pressure having an effect on my uterus. She said she saw LOTS of examples of this working in Labor and Delivery for years and years. I figure she may have a point, especially since barometric pressure from thunderstorms gives me horrible headaches.

I was borderline panicking yesterday, but tried my hardest to stay calm. I read getting worked up causes hormones to react and can make things worse. I'm so relieved all is fine. WHEW!

Stephanie, so glad you are okay. Watch over those contractions...it's scary sometimes. I woke up with a huge one this morning..bladder was full, that always sets me off...I was amazed at how high my uterus is though! An inch below my belly button, and mine is really high up on my tummy. A little shocking. If they hurt, don't mess around with them. Again, so glad today things are better. :) Take care of those little ones!

Ok....here's how the story goes. I'm a bit annoyed so please forgive me.

As I said, my OB nurse called and said that the bloodwork came back and showed abnormalities. Of course, I freaked out. (By the way, I drove to Florida from the DC area last Sunday to spend a week with my family.) Once she told me that I was unable to relax and felt it was best that I head back to DC. On the drive back, at 10am she called. (I was in South Carolina by then) She said that the lab made a mistake and miscalculated the due date. They also put my birthdate as 1971 which would make me 39 instead of my actual age of 33. You would think my freakin' OB could call me directly to give me THAT news.

In any event, I was happy to hear those results.

Then....I think from being so nervous I haven't been able to eat or drink much. (I think I also may have a slight stomach flu) I decided to go to the ER this morning because I felt faint and thought I may be dehydrated. I wasn't keeping much down. Right before I left, the OB nurse called and said they sent my bloodwork back and changed all the errors. I am still showing abnormalities so my OB wants to see me tomorrow. UGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!

So, I spent the day in the ER and tomorrow I see the OB. I just can't believe all the shit and the lab errors. I'm just so annoyed and pray that everything is ok. I should know more tomorrow.

Thank you ladies for being so supportive. You have no idea how much it means.
estimated ER is 10/12
estimated Emb. Transfer is 10/15-10/17 :) [/color]
Beta #1 - 123 :)
Beta #2 scheduled for Thursday 10/28 - 256 :)
U/S scheduled for 11/15!!! + Heartbeat. Pregnant with one little angel!

Hi girls, I would like to suggest signing up for the recall emails at https://www.cpsc.gov/cpsclist.aspx I signed up for anything related to children and always get those recalls asap when they post which is great!

Stephanie - what a scare, braxton hicks already... I am so sorry but glad everything worked out and after all you had a good reason to stay put and stay home. Glad everything is better!

Freckles - How many mistakes can they make? Sorry to get all this on your drive how terrible, I really hope all is well. I am 39 now so they already start out telling me one in 100... thanks! I hope it all works out and please let us know.

Lovely baby bumps!!! Keep them coming!!!

I got a little cold and so does DS so we are a bit under the weather. I have just been so tired and hungry cause of the diet. Everything else seems to be going fine. I can feel the baby, not kicks or anything like that, but I feel a slow movement and can feel a hard part of my belly moving a bit, especially when laying down, I can't wait for next week to find out the sex!
