Leora - that's terrible. I don't know how some clinics get away with being closed on certain days of the week. Luckily, my clinic is open 365 days/year. My AF started on New Year's Eve, so I was relieved to find out that they're open every day of the year. Labs were a pain to get drawn on New Year's Day, though, as most of the labs, apart from the one in socal, were closed. So, panicked, I called my nurse who just had me drive to the clinic to get the CD2 labs drawn. It was an hour drive, but was worth it. I can't wait to hear how your ovaries are doing though! Can you believe how close you are to ER already?

Tammy - so happy to hear your embryos are doing so well. I hope they continue to grow! Glad to hear Zach is feeling much better! Have a joyous weekend!!

Qita - not everyone exhibits symptoms before the beta, so please don't let that get you down. You had 3 5 day transfers. To me, the chances sound great that at least one would stick. Please keep your PMA and just wait till Monday for your beta. I'm not even planning on POAS until my beta.. I don't think I could handle the disappointment before then and I certainly know it won't be good for my PMA if it's negative. Like Lou said, even after 14dpo, and a GREAT beta, she still saw a faint line for positive. So hold on to some hope and think positive thoughts. Praying for you and your DH!

Lauren - is your beta scheduled for Thursday? Are you having any symptoms? I'm praying for you and Tiger to get those BFP's!

Lou - I am still so happy for you! I definitely kept you in my prayers before going to sleep the night before. You totally deserve it!!

Jeib - so sorry to hear your embies were not of high quality, but please keep your PMA. There have been lots of stories posted of successful and viable pregnancies resulting from low quality embryos, and you had 3 5day blasts, albeit low quality. Just keep your PMA. How many cells were your embryos, did they say? Lots of baby dust to you, my dear.

AFM - I'm feeling much, much better! Thanks everyone. I called my nurse the next day after my dizziness episode which lasted for hours, and she said it may be due to a couple of things: 1) I've been on bedrest and my body is used to being a bit more active 2) I've only been drinking gatorade for my bloating so my body is dehydrated and craving for some good ol' h20. Well, whatever it was, by the next afternoon, I felt 95% better and it felt good to feel like myself again! I no longer needed assistance from DH to walk me to the restroom, which was starting to become a nuisance. So today, I am 3dp5dt. No major symptoms yet. I thought I felt some cramping during the night, but it could have just been my mind playing tricks on me. I'm not planning on POAS before my beta, so the next 6 days are going to go by so sloooooooowww. Oh well, positive thoughts. Woosah!

hi all, just a quick hello. i just came back from the ET and the embryologist showed me pics of the blastocyts and they are not very promising. they transfer three to increase my chances that one will take since they are not of high quality blatocyts. i was so upset i started crying even before the ET. my bf says that they are the three stooges...i know he was trying to make me feel better...so, i'm glad he was there. now, as a microbiologist, i know what cells are suppose to look like and it's not at all like that. i'm so worried that they wont take b/c of the low quality. i think i'll just bum around for the rest of the day.

Jeib - dont read anything into how they looked! firstly they are blasts so they must be pretty strong embryos otherwise they wouldnt have made it to blasts. secondly you have 3 in there! you have very good chances for 1 to take - and even very decent chances for 2 to take frankly. i had 3 so so embryos transfered on day 3 and 1 took. you have 3 blasts! that's much better chances. i think you'll be very pregnant!! you'll see.

My stomach still hurts. I can barely walk at times. I had to be at work this morning at 5:30 (working in a hospital kitchen) and the longer I was there, the more uncomfortable I got. Is it just my ovaries still being huge? I am on Do.stinex for ohss. I hope I am not getting it!

SD - I wish I didn't worry so much. For my first IVF, I didn't know anything! I never asked for my results. I just knew what I had to take and when. I'm trying not to obsess so much this cycle.... I'm just getting more and more desperate for this to work!

Tammy - sorry! I've changed the list. Good luck tomorrow at the ET! Let us know how it goes!

Qita - I'm sorry that you've gotten BFNs on the HPTs. While that's not a good sign, you aren't necessarily out yet! 12dpo (7dp5dt) is still really early. I hope you get good news on Monday.

Lauren - just 4 more days until your beta - I really hope this worked. I've always POAS, but it's so hard to not get a final answer. At least with the beta, you know for sure one way or another. I keep swearing that I won't POAS.... but I always break down.

Lou - lots of people love you! I really hope #6 is lucky for me too....

Jeib - I'm sorry the blasts weren't as good as you hoped... but I'm still hoping for your BFP! What day is your beta (so I can add it to the list)?

Ashley - I'm not sure how close to ER I am. In the past, I've done 7-8 days of Ganirelix... which would mean at least a week from Sunday until triggering. My hope is to have the ER by Feb 14 or 15... fingers crossed that things go really well at the SnS tomorrow. JUST SIX DAYS UNTIL BETA! YAY!

Sherry - I've never OHSS - but in any case, call your doctor. And feel better!

AFM - still nothing new. I'm still freaking out about my SnS tomorrow, my adoption appt on Monday and NOT HAVING ANYTHING TO DO THIS WEEK! GAH! I'm not sure I'll be okay. The plan for tomorrow is to go for SnS and then take my laptop to the university library... hopefully I'll get some job searching done then.

Leora - my first SnS wasnt till day 5 either. the doc didnt want to see me earlier than that. You are with the same doc as in the previous cycles, right? so he knows your body pretty well at this point. first 5 days are pretty uneventful for me - dont feel anything just taking the medicine. I am sure you'll have a good SnS tomorrow - lots of follies.
To answer your question about the results of my 2nd SnS - my doc said - 'you are developing like the previous cycle'. i got some follies that are bigger than 10 at this point and a bunch that are still smaller than 10. last time i stimed for a while. my follies take their time to grow even my natural cycles are on the longish side - 30/31 days. so my follies just take their time. today is day 9 of stims and i probably wont trigger till tuesday night. maybe monday night, but most likely tuesday night.

i forgot - do we still stim after trigger? or is that the last day of stims?

Leora - so what did your doc say with respect to your previous cycles not working? what's his going theory at this point? may i ask you what happened with the twins? was it just early labor with twins?

frankly i am not holding my breath for the fresh cycle to work. i am more focusing on getting teh embryos frozen. i'll transfer a couple - assuming everything goes well and i have embryos to transfer - at this point its an assumption on my part! but last time my fresh cycle failed. something about my estrogen being high and the environment not being great. maybe because my stims are so long. so i am mentally preparing to be happy if we get some good embryos frozen, transfer a couple ( probably not even the best couple - as last time i wasted my best 2 embryos on a so-so uterus environment) and if it fails - turn right around and start doing frozen ones. my clinic has awesome frozen rates - that's what worked for me in the past and that's what i am counting on now. I'll probably be joining the march/april thread after my beta results
i am planning on doing accupuncture the morning of my transfer - hopefully a couple of hours before. if my transfer falls on a saturday my hubby will be holding down the fort with my 10 month DS for the whole weekend while i am in bed. poor hubby! i am hoping the transfer will take place on sunday or better yet monday - so my DS can go to his home day care lady as usual and i'll just take 2 sick days from work. but i am estimating my hubby will be busy with him at least one day this weekend - if not two!!!

at my last u/s, my cyst was still there . . . ugh . . . looks like its getting smaller, but its still there . . . my next u/s is on 2.9 . . . fingers crossed . .

Lyd: I did acupuncture on my IVF #2 on the day of my transfer and we got pregnant =) Good Luck =)

I understand the feelings because I had a similar experience: bleeding before beta test. From another viewpoint, do give up hoping because you haven’t had a physical sign showing negative. Good luck for Monday.

AFM: Had sns on Friday. New follicles are still growing. The total count reached 12 today, my new record. My only concern is that the sizes of follies are very different so the number of mature eggs may be low. But who cares, we need only 2 good one to be extremely happy; we want a twin, preferably a boy and a girl so we have everything we want in one shot. Triggered tonight and the ER is planned on Monday morning.

Hope - My beta is Wednesday. I am going a day early because it's my day off. I would like to tell you that your 6 days will fly by, but they are not flying for me lol!

Leora - I did not buy home tests because I keep thinking I should just wait for beta. Now it's 8:20 Saturday night. We are home about to watch a movie, and I want to make DH go buy me some for tomorrow lol!! My 1st S&S is usually on day 5 because I stim so long and slow!

Jeib - I agree that 3 blasts are great!! Good luck!

I am having AF symptoms like I keep thinking it's here and expect to see it when I go to the bathroom. If nothing tomorrow I will buy some tests and do it Monday morning.

Hi Ladies

I am excited to be able to have such a wealth of experience and support on this IVF rollercoaster. I will share my story in a post tomorrow but I just had a question about acupuncture. If you did acupuncture for your cycle how often did you have it done? When did you start? Did you have it on the day of transfer?

I know I want to do acupuncture and am trying to decide how often is enough to make a difference.

On my first two ivf cycles, I did acupuncture as I stimmed . . . for IVF #1, I did not have acupuncture on my transfer day . . . for IVF #2, I did have acupuncture before and after transfer . . . got pregnant on ivf #2 =)

for ivf #3, I'm doing acupuncture before I stim . . . not sure when I'll start the stims, but I do enjoy acupuncture . . .

Ghost always says there's no medical evidence to support acupuncture with IVF, but I feel it doesn't hurt . . . if nothing else, it made me feel balanced and confident on transfer day . . . but deep down, I do believe acupuncture helps =)
