Post by krcaja »

I just found out I'm pregnant after IVF. My ER was 1/11/2011. ET was 1/16/2011. I had my 1st beta on 1/27/2011 it was 345. My 2nd beta was today 1/31/2011 and it was 1565. This is my first pregnancy. Looking for others to share this journey with.

krcaja - Congrats to you on your pregnancy & great betas! And I'm sure others will be joining you really soon on this thread. Some people are nervous to join until they've seen their little on on u/s or have seen the heartbeat, but pretty soon this thread will be hopping. Good luck and have a happy & healthy 9 months! :D

I just completed my first IVF cycle and had my first beta today. Today was only 12 days post (14 would be on Sunday) My beta was only 38. Should I be worried?? My dr called to tell me I had a positive test, and my next beta will be on Monday. I know that anything greater that 0 is positive. From my internet research it actually looks like a norm beta for 12 days, but everyone elses that I see is so much higher than mine. I guess I should be happy today, and just wait for Mondays results. Any thoughts anyone???

I'm surprised they tested you at 12 dpo... but yes... that sounds like a great number for 12 dpo. Betas typically double faster than 48 hours in very early pregnancy, so at 14po you should expect over 100. That's good news and congratulations are in order! Great that you managed this on your first try! :) You can get some comfort from www.betabase.info if you want.

Krcaja - if all goes well, I cannot wait to join you here.

Dallas- Good luck on your beta! Sonya is right, for 12 dpo, your number was good.

AFM- My first beta at 14 dpo was 290. I have my second beta tomorrow. I'm really nervous.

Krcaja- Honestly, I'm very tired. I would be happy with a nap every day, going to bed at 9pm, and a lot of nothing inbetween. I'm also fairly queasy off and on but so far my appetite is ok when I'm not.

Yes, Ive lost my appetite. I have to remember to eat now, its kinda wierd. I thought that with all of these meds I would have a raging appetite and gain weight... Ive actually lost weight over the last couple of wks.

Lou the first few weeks were BRUTAL for me... I felt so guilty because I was so tired all the time and didn't think I was 'very' pregnant. Looking back, those weeks are ESSENTIAL to listen to your body and give it whatever it demands. I didn't have a choice - I slept lots, often, and generally was a couch potato whenever I got the chance.

Sonya- I fully agree with you. But I work full time and long hours are expected. I'm not telling people at work so I think I'll have to suck it up a bit. But I'm continuing with weekly acupuncture and maybe will also do prenatal massage.

hi ladies, i wonder if i can join you? i've got quite an IF history but i 'won the lottery' and got naturally pregnant while awaiting another IVF cycle... that's crazy in my world, but it happened..

i don't feel like a 'normie' pregnant person, and although i didn't cycle to get here... i feel like it's with the 'ivf'ers' is where i belong.. would anyone mind?

i'm due around sept 18 (so weird not having a DD that's down to the 'exact minute', lol),, and i've already had 3 u/s 's as i 've been bleeding, but i'm 8 wks now and feeling optimistic..

i've been active on another forum with some cycle buddies from my specific clinic, but many of them are still struggling to get PG and i don't feel right sharing my 'being PG fears, symptoms, issues".. i've been very active on this board over the years and made great friends while i cycled for my 3rd time and got our son.

i've had 1 cancelled IVF due to poor response, 2 full IVF's (m/c at 12 wks, and then my son), and 1 failed FET.. i was recommended to go donor eggs instead of sticking with my own due to my DOR and poor response to stims, but i persevered with my own and i'm one of the lucky ones that it really paid off for.

btw, dallas i'm so glad your beta more than doubled, great sign! and lou- CONGRATULATIONS! i've followed your story on here and i'm so happy for you :)
please let me know, thanks karen
38 yrs. DOR, TTC since '04, recommended DE but didn't listen
3 IVF's & 1 FET: 1 cancellation, 1 m/c @ 12 wks, 1 chemical, 1 miracle boy & miracle 'natural' PG right now while waiting to cycle (WTF?)
