Hi girls I am back :D I know I have been MIA for a long time but unfortunately my morning sickness was so terrible that I was a miserable puppy for a while there not to mention the exhaustion. I hope you girls are right and that the fatigue will get better. Not to mention the endless winter storms we have been having here in the Northeast are so depressing. I am hoping that I am starting to turn the corner now with the morning sickness. We were released to our regular OB at 9 weeks and all he did was take a bunch of vials of blood and that's it...ugh sorta disappointing but he seemed nice. He quickly informed me that his job was to "wean" us RE girls off of the ultrasound...lol well his plan failed and earlier this week I had some spotting and after an ultrasound found out that I have a low placenta so now I am being monitored with hope that it moves. I was told to get a lot of rest but I don't know how its possible since I teach 7th grade and am on my feet all day long. I am starting to show now too....which seems so much earlier than I did with my son (I will do a belly pic soon)

Ryan my OB also mentioned that after May 6th I will stop working and be on martial bed-rest because Of my non-existent cervix/TAC so I guess we will be bored together...lol

Mellow I sent you a PM but I just wanted to say I am so happy how well your little ones are doing.

As per my guess on the gender....hmmmm :) I think its a girl but I will be happy regardless of the gender. I dream about the baby all the time and its always a girl so I am guessing its a girl but now sure :)

mellow4 wrote:Sonya~ Does David work in the oil sands? I'm sure it gets lonely having him gone so often, but I know how well that type of work pays, so it's understandable. Glad to hear you are doing well, and feeling pretty good. You are right, the third trimester brings on the exhaustion...especially so since we aren't young little chickies anymore. haha. When I had my first daughter, almost 16 years ago...I was 20, and nothing got to me. Last year with my pregnancy with Johnny, I was a little shocked at how different I felt! :) I still count it a joy!
Hey Mellow... no... the oil sands are a unique thing in the oil and gas world. It's a special type of earth that requires a special kind of drilling and extraction to get to the oil. Unlike a typical (not nearly as environmentally significant) regular old oil well in a farmer's field, etc. If you ever want to check it out (it's pretty much an environmental disaster/financial billion-dollar reward mess) google oil sands fort mcmurray, alberta.

Actually my husband is an environmental inspector on the pipelines, that carry the oil from the oil sands across the country to the processing plants or ports. He makes sure that the companies building the pipelines follow Canada's VERY strict environmental guidelines. It's a great job and he loves it, but he's gone so much.

I know this pregnancy is really like a first time experience. I remember being pregnant (21 years ago!!) but I don't REMEMBER it. I'm really enjoying everything about this, but highly suspect it's taking a much bigger tole on me than when I was 16 or 18 and had my boys.

Anna - Glad you're feeling better enough to rejoin us! Your baby is adorable! Who knew tiny beans could be so cute??? Okay, I'm gonna agree with you about the gender guess. I did a lot of research on the "angle of the dangle" in the 12 week u/s and my completely non-professional opinion is in agreement. :D

Sonya - BEAUTIFUL bump!!! You're adorable!

I'm hoping everyone's doing fantastic. No news is good news, right?

We're putting a gazillion finishing touches on our house before the first showing this afternoon. It's lot of work, I have to keep stopping for mini breaks, but worth it. We opted to sell and buy a new house rather than add on. Hopefully all goes well because we have already found two houses that would be perfect for us! One has a pool for the older kids and a beautiful deck for sipping margaritas (Mmmmmmm!) while DH BBQs in the summer. Fingers and toes crossed!!! :D

Have a wonderful day, ladies!!!

Sonya - You look GREAT! I'm so glad you let those muscles relax so you could show off your beautiful pregnant self!

rio - Good luck with your u/s tomorrow! I can't wait to hear what you're having! And I'm doing well. I'll be 18 weeks on Thursday so it'll be time for another bump pic. And 2 weeks from today we have our big u/s and can hopefully see what we've got cooking in there. I swear this 6 week break between u/s is pure torture LOL, but I'll be 19w5d by then so we should get a really good look at the baby.

Stepanie - A deck and pool sounds sooo nice right now! I'm definitely ready for winter to pack up and leave now.

Sonya- you look pregnant not fat!!!! You look beautiful and just right! Keep doing what you are doing. It's working!

Steph- if you guys get the house with the pool and deck we can all invite ourselves over with our precious babies for a party to celebrate!!!!

Looks like everyone is doing well. Yeah for that! Keep baking ladies!

AFM- sick again. :( Throat infection that required antibiotic. I feel like crap. But thank goodness I think the meds and Tylenol aee working. Just so darn paranoid about being sick. I pray each night for God to protect my little one from this crap. I don't see how I can be getting sick so much. I'm so careful about washing hands, purell my hands, wiping stuff off regularly My last pregnancy with the twins I didn't get sick once!!!!!! Does the winter weather really make a difference? Anywho, I have u/s on Friday. Looking forward to that soo much!

Karen....so sorry you're sick! I know you're paranoid about being sick, but sometimes we just have to trust our doctors! And YES, winter makes a huge diference! I always spend all winder sick as a dog! I hope you feel better really soon!

Amanda...I hear you on the 6 weeks between ultrasounds being torture...my wait is 8 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rio...CAn't wait to hear how your ultrasound went!

Stephanie....You better get some rest you busy lady! And I'm thinking a baby party with your new pool sounds great :) At least I wouldn't have to leave the state! I'm glad you brought up the twin v. singleton preganacy thing...my sister is 9 weeks ahead of me with a singleton and just has all the energy in the world! I feel like everyone looks at me like I'm just beggin for attention, but really, this is kicking my butt!

Sonya...You totally look all BABY! Quit trying to suck it in and wear that baby belly proud!

Anna...What a great picture! I haven't even gotten to see them looking like "real babies" yet...makes me just a little jealous! I can totally feel for you with the sickness...this has been killer!

Mellow...Your offer to Margi on the winter thread had me in tears! It's so nice to form such relationships on here! You seem like such a wonderful person!

AFM....Home with the stomach flu :( Thought it was just morning sickness, but I threw up over 20 times yesterday and feel better today, so I HAD to have a bug. Today I'm just drained because I couldn't even keep water down yesterday. My poor students are just learning to live without their teacher!

Question for you all....My last ultrasound was at 8 weeks. I had an ob appointment monday and we heard the heartbeats (I recorded it so I listen to it over and over!). My next appt is in 4 weeks so I will be 16 weeks at that time. I asked if we would be having an ultrasound and the nurse said, no, not until 20 weeks. Seriously?!?! That's 12 weeks between ultrasounds....does that sound right to any of you? Especially with twins?? If he really is making me wait til 20 weeks then I am scheduling an appointment at a private 3d place...I need to see these two! I've never even seen them looking like "babies". Not to mention I am dying to find out what they are!

Here is my 12 weeks bump...I feel liek I am really popping! Doc says I am measuring 16 weeks.

That is not what I would have expected either. At my "prenatal consultation" at the OB's office last week they said I would get extra ultrasounds due to the twins, but I also take a medication for a chronic condition that will require them to monitor me for IUGR. Of course they didn't get specific about which weeks the US would take place. I'm 10 weeks and my last RE ultrasound is on 2/11. I know I'll have my Level 2 within 3 weeks of now tho, because I mailed my triple screen bloodwork on Monday.

Won't you also have a level 2 ultrasound at 13-16 weeks to evalutate risk of genetic defects?
