Kerri.. Congrats for being PUPO!!

SD- going to day 5 with 3 embryos?you are brave!! But I'm sure all 3 will be doing just fine! Good luck embies, grow fast!!

AFM- I transferred 3 embryos today, 1- 9 cell and 2- 6 cell. The rest 3 are still doing fine, but don't know how they will look on day 5.

If they can charge $17,000 for an IVF cycle and accept only $4,000 then obviously they are still making money as they are all driving BMWs and putting their kids through ivy league colleges... so why can't they just charge self-pay customers the $4,000? That's seems unfair that those with not fertility coverage and having to pay out of pocket get screwed... Of course I know I am preaching to the choir here, but really! Maybe the new healthcare reform will make it more reasonable? Does anyone know if the new plan offers fertility coverage? It doesnt really matter to me.... I'll probably be on social security by the time it gets passed and in-place.. assuming it ever does... but I don't think medicare covers IVF either.

Carol - I agree! Obviously they can not do every IVF for $4,000, but they could give people who pay alot a break on a beta test and stuff like that.

Tiger - I am so sorry! It sucks!

I go to a SIRM - the dr's do try and reply to emails. sometimes it isn't the quickest but usually within 24hrs. I even emailed a Dr. at the SIRM in NY, Im in st. louis and he answered my questions. I am not one of those that swear by the clinic that i go too. Its a clinic just like all the rest but they do have protocols that are different and its easier to contact the Dr. I also like the fact that they are smaller and I always see the Dr. He does all the u/s. I went to a bigger clinic for my 4 canceled cycles and 2 first IVF cycles and I never saw my RE. I think in the year plus I was doing procedures there, I saw my official Dr. 3 times. Having a question for the dr at my old clinic was a pita because I always had to leave voice mails and then the nurse would have to call me back. would end up playing phone tag all day. Makes IVF even more stressful.

Leora- Wow!!! I have so much to say about the adoption workers statements. Unfortunately...they are true!!! HOWEVER....just because a child is born drug exposed or addicted does NOT mean the child will have issues or problems. My oldest son was born drug addicted...9+ years later he is an honor roll student, star athlete, boy scout, has received several best behavior awards and is just a fabulously overall terric kid!!! Honestly you should be able to tell the agency what you can/will be willing to accept and can't/won't. Any child with prenatal exposure to alcohol, opiates, and or meth I would honestly say no to. Cocaine, marijuana, and similar drugs seem not to have the same long lasting effects. Also children who have attachment issues...reactive attachment disorder is a big NO!!!! I am so passionate about this I can't even focus enought to type so I need to get all my old notes and stuff out so i can provide facts not just opinion. It pisses me off when social workers categorize children as throw aways. The children I said no about adopting can be helped but it requires alot of training...ie therapeutic foster and adoptive homes. These parents have years of training and experience to take on these children.

As for everyone else...I have to catch up on personals...as soon as i read Leora's I started typing..

ASFM...my last beta today 23,005 at 29 dpo. I have my 1st u/s on 2/15.

Lauren & Tiger - i'm so sorry about your BFN! my heart goes out to you. Scream, yell, and punch the pillow if you need. then we'll re-group mentally, emotionally and move on to the next step. As Dora would say in "Finding Nemo": just keep on swimming! :)

Afm - 2-3 days after my ET, i was cramping as if i was getting AF. now, it has stopped. i don't feel anything anymore. Is that a bad sign?

Rio - thanks and I am glad everything is going well with you!

My WTF appt is at 11 tomorrow now. We were talking about bad luck..I found out today that my friend's 3 year old son has cancer. They are doing surgery tomorrow to remove a tumor and then he needs chemo. I don't know all the details, but how awful! Makes any complaint I have ever had seem like absolutely nothing.

Tiger & Lauren - SO SO sorry for the BFN. :( Hugs to you both!

Lauren - How terrible! So sorry to hear that about your friend. No parent or child should ever have to go through that. One of the main reasons I did not want to be a peds nurse - it broke my heart working on the oncology unit. Best wishes and a speedy recovery to your friend's son. My prayers are with him.

Samantha: Thanks for translating!! Hopefully that wierd spam will stop.

Sherry: Congratulations!! You are PUPO!! Rest and enjoy.

Leora: Great sign that you are able to “feel” things...I predict great growth tomorrow at your SnS. And, as for what Kristen says--I second and third it! I have two adopted siblings myself. I can speak from both personal and professional opinion. It doesn’t seem intuitive, but alcohol (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) tends to have much more of a negative impact upon neurology and emotional well-being than crack. I don’t know what the drug situation is like in Israel. Is it the same “types” as here? Anyway, in a day or two I will send you some links to help you. And, regarding attachment--again, Kristin has it nailed. Disrupted attachments are very difficult to remedy. It is sad to say, but true. Best of luck with job decision.

Kerri: Congratulations on being PUPO. There are so many decisions to make and question along this journey. Try to feel secure in where you are and focus on positively visualizing those little embi-babies of yours snuggling in tightly!

Hope (this works out, Hope): Welcome! Good luck with transfer tomorrow!!! Are you transfering two blasts?

Katie: Welcome back!! Great to “see” you. Sounds like you are on track. Excited for you!

Tiger: Ugh. So sad for you. (((HUGS))) I was really praying for a miracle with you. Get all the tests and completely optimize your next cycle. The HSG can be done during the first half of an active cycle, so it doesn’t need to delay anything.

SD: Hoping and praying for your little embies.

Lauren: So sorry. ((((HUGS))))) I know that you were expecting it, but it is still never “easy”. Next cycle will work!! Oh, just read about your friend’s three year old--yes, life can be unpredictable, scary and unfair. I will say a prayer tonight.

Jieb: Hoping that cramping is implantation!! Keep up your PMA. And, yes, I have checked out that website myself!

Rio: So happy your bean is growing nicely!! Sorry “she” is being shy. ;-)

Tiger/Lauren/NwQuiz/Carol: I agree with all you ladies. The money/insurance thing is completely ridiculous and unfair. I am very blessed to have insurance (at the moment) but I have wasted HOURS of my life this week and endured way too much stress regarding what is to be paid for, when things are to be sent, etc. My Lupron cost me $7. If the insurance hadn’t “agreed” with over-ride, it would have cost me $365. Having been on both sides of this--self-pay and insurance it is totally unfair to those that are self-pay. As you have said: the clinics get a “negotiated amount” from the insurance companies....maybe someone needs to “negotiate” for the self-pay client!!!

Hope/Ashley: How are you doing? 2 days until beta?!?! Are you surviving!?

Tammy: How about you? How are you feeling?

Well I wasn't sure what I was "supposed" to see today with SnS, but I think it was all ok. No big cyst or anything, so I guess that is good and means I am supressed? Problem is the stupid LAB couldn't find a way to fax a STAT order to CA. Now I explained to the lady at the lab this morning how very important it was, yatta, yatta, yatta! How can they not understand the importance of giving feedback for fertility information. All they needed to do was fax a simple E2 level. GRRRRRRRR. So, now I am delayed a day to start Lupron. :( The nurse was reassuring and said it wasn't a "big deal" But I need to stick to my schedule as I have planned vacation, flights, etc. And my worry is that if these labs can't get their way to CA now, what about during stim?!?! I am going to get really fussy tomorrow with someone. They have got to get their act together. OK-vent over. Thanks for bearing with me. It is just really frustrating. And this is a different lab from last week.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I have not been on in a while.

Tiger - I am so sorry to hear about your results! Totally sucks! Pamper yourself & eat lots of things that make you happy. :) Chocolate helped me. :) I had the HSG done & my hub has zero morphology. Not a fun test, but if you take it you will have another assurance that all is OK on your end. Wishing you the best as you move forward.

Lauren - So sorry to hear about your news too. Sorry that you had to go through all the garbage with your clinic too. Sounds like it might be time to change your doctor. I wish you the best with your next cycle & whatever you decide.

Leora - Sounds like your cycle is going well. I am praying this is your cycle for that BFP! I read your post about the twins & my heart goes out to you. You are a very strong person having gone through something like that & continuing on.

Amanda & HopeisAllIHave - Praying for BFPs for you! Your wait is almost over! :) Amanda - You just posted as I was ready to post. Sending out extra prayers that those tests you are taking are wrong!

Lou - I spoke with my doc today & he was going on about how we should have had so many more embies to transfer. I could only think of you & that it only takes one! So happy for you. Hope you are enjoying being a mom to be. :)

Margi - Glad to hear you are starting. Sorry for the mess up on your Lupron though. Hope everything gets worked out. Also, I think I read that you are taking Lupron. My doc is now suggesting that. Have you taken Lupron before? or was there a reason why you were switched to Lupron?

SDTrying - Praying that all your embies are happy & healthy & ready for transfer on day 5! :)

AFM - I spoke with my doctor yesterday & he says that my cycle went much quicker than he would of liked. I was only on stims for 8 days when I triggered. So he now wants to put me on Lupron to both slow things down & have better control over my cycle. He said they usually use the Lupron on younger patients, but that he is comfortable doing this on me since I have so many eggs. I know many on here have used the Lupron. Can you tell me if what he says sounds right? And anything about cycling with Lupron?

I told my doc that I was getting lots of info from this site & he said that he could only compare it to being like having 20 mother-in-laws giving you advice. Thought that was kind of funny!

Praying for everyone on this board! Be well. Be healthy. Smile... :) :) :)
