As you all know i had a c section. i did take antibiotics straight away as i had an infection somewhere. Its been 13 days now and i was wondering if any of you who is breast feeding also have flu like symptoms from being so tired for the first month or so? i have not got any infections no mistitis or fever just flu like symptoms that come and go. i'm exausted as Elizabeth has her days and nights mixed up. i do try and have naps but im finding it hard.
much love
xxx
Franca - I had flu like symptoms for a day or two when I had a clogged duct within the first three weeks. I did NOT feel that way the next time I had a clogged duct a month or so later. I think that run down feeling has a lot to do with pure exhaustion. It hit me on a night Darren was gone and I didn't have any help. I hope you feel better!
PA OMG i missed the news!!!! Congrats on baby Addisson she is just utterly gorgous and thankfully not as big as they thought!!! She weighs the same as Kayla did 9lb 6ozs so our munchkins are now the heaviest babies born here though we may wait to see how karen and lou do!! Hope you are recovering well xxx
Katie i agree the days just fly by!! I reckon Ryan is over 13lbs as Kayla weighed 13lbs 2 wks ago and he is older so you may just brave the scales and let us know
Lou roll on 22nd!!! I have a good feeling this time for you xx
Karen 15 wks already thats just great!!! Dont worry about the antibiotics pregnant women take them all the time
Sorry for flying visit but may give Kayla a bath, she is still napping well though her reflux sometimes makes it difficult for her to nod off on her own but i just whisk her out for a quick stroll in her buggy and she usually nods off, she wouldnt take her afternoon nap today and she was wreaked tired so even though it was spilling rain i went for quick walk and she slept for nearly 3 hrs!!! It was worth getting wet
gi xx

Ok Girls... I just got such a funny email I had to share it.... The subject line is Complain Letter
This is an "actual letter" from an Austin, Texas woman sent to Proctor and Gamble regarding one of their feminine products. She really gets rolling after the first paragraph. This was PC Magazine's 2009 Editors' Choice award-winner for the best letter sent via e-mail.
Dear Mr. Thatcher,
I have been a loyal user of your 'Always' maxi pads for over 20 years and I appreciate many of their features. Why, without the LeakGuard Core or Dri-Weave absorbency, I'd probably never go horseback riding or salsa dancing, and I'd certainly steer clear of running up and down the beach in tight, white shorts.
But my favorite feature has to be your revolutionary Flexi-Wings. Kudos on being the only company smart enough to realize how crucial it is that maxi pads be aerodynamic I can't tell you how safe and secure I feel each month knowing there's a little F-16 in my pants.
Have you ever had a menstrual period, Mr. Thatcher? I'm guessing you haven't. Well, my time of the month is starting right now. As I type, I can already feel hormonal forces violently surging through my body. Just a few minutes from now, my body will adjust and I'll be transformed into what my husband likes to call 'an inbred hillbilly with knife skills.'
Isn't the human body amazing?
As Brand Manager in the Feminine-Hygiene Division, you've no doubt seen quite a bit of research on what exactly happens during your customer's monthly visits from 'Aunt Flo'. Therefore, you must know about the bloating, puffiness, and cramping we endure, and about our intense mood swings, crying jags, and out-of-control behavior. You surely realize it's a tough time for most women.
The point is, sir, you of all people must realize that America is just crawling with homicidal maniacs in Capri pants... Which brings me to the reason for my letter. Last month, while in the throes of cramping so painful I wanted to reach inside my body and yank out my uterus, I opened an Always maxi-pad, and there, printed on the adhesive backing, were these words: 'Have a Happy Period.'
Are you f------ kidding me? What I mean is, does any part of your tiny middle-manager brain really think happiness - actual smiling, laughing happiness, is possible during a menstrual period? Did anything mentioned above sound the least bit pleasurable? Well, did it, James? FYI, unless you're some kind of sick S&M freak, there will never be anything 'happy' about a day in which you have to jack yourself up on Motrin and Kahlua and lock yourself in your house just so you don't march down to the local Walgreen's armed with a hunting rifle and a sketchy plan to end your life in a blaze of glory.
For the love of God, pull your head out, man! If you have to slap a moronic message on a maxi pad, wouldn't it make more sense to say something that's actually pertinent, like 'Put down the Hammer' or 'Vehicular Manslaughter is Wrong'.
Sir, please inform your Accounting Department that, effective immediately, there will be an $8 drop in monthly profits, for I have chosen to take my maxi-pad business elsewhere. And though I will certainly miss your Flex-Wings, I will not for one minute miss your brand of condescending bullsh!t. And that's a promise I will keep.
Always.

Hello everyone! Sorry I have been missing for so long. Thanks Steph for posting a pic. I will try to post while Addison is sleeping on my mother-in-law's shoulder.
So , yes, Addison Jean was born on Feb 10 at 8:29am weighing 9lb6oz and 21inches long. My c-section went great as far as surgeries go. I had to be at the hospital at 6am and surgery was scheduled for 8am. I was prepped and laid out by 8:20am. DH came in and Addison was born soon after. They had asked me if I minded if a nursing student watched my section. I said not at all! So I had 2 students watching. DH watched the whole thing. After they made the incision the Dr said, oh she's big...we need to make a bigger cut. HMMMM. I ended up with 15 staples from the large cut to get her out. Hearing her cry was the most awesome sound I have ever heard. I didn't get to see her for like 10 mins. I was like...come on! DH finally brought her to me so I could see my daughter and look into her eyes. She was crying so hard when they were bringing her to me. I started talking to her and telling her that everything was ok and she stopped crying. It was awesome...like she immediately recognized my voice.
We finally made it into recovery...where we decided on her name. We were a little torn for names. Our top 3 were Addison, Ciara and Avery. Then a nurse walked in and her name tag said Addie. We took it as a sign and named her Addison.
The first day was great. But by midnight she was hypoglycemic, low blood sugar, and had to go to NICU. They said it was normal for big babies to have low blood sugar because it takes them more to regulate once away from mom. She did really well and only had to spend about 30 hrs in NICU. It was hard seeing her there but the nurses took wonderful care of her and explained everything to me. We went down there every three hours to feed her and spend time with her. In between was resting time so that the babies could get better.
We got her back Saturday morning. By that afternoon she was starting to get jaundice. Her blood sugar was still good though. She was able to go home as planned on Sunday. She had a great first night at home. Until around 4am. She started crying her head off. We figured she hadn't pooped and after an hour finally had a small BM. It was rather solid and she was all squinched up. She hasn't had another one all day. Of course...I haven't had one since before surgery so I know how she feels. UGH.
I'm sure I left stuff out but it's time for feeding. And maybe a bit of a bath. Her first pediatrician appt is tomorrow. I will update more tomorrow. Hugs and kisses!
