I have stage 3 endo and cervical stenosis. My RE diagnosed my issues and since then I have had a few laps and two ivf's. The first ivf was not successful as my transfer was difficult due to my cervix..RE sent me to a great surgeon afterwards who specializes in this stuff for another surgery..i had the surgery and he was able to fix my issues and then I went for another ivf which did get me pregnant but unfortunately I miscarried at 7 weeks anyway, after the m/c my RE saw that a very small cyst/endometrioma I had on my left ovary prior to ivf was growing in size rapidly so he sent me for another surgery..i recently had that surgery and the cyst was removed and the surgeon didn't see a lot of endo develop which is good news considering the fact that the two surgeries were almost a year apart..anyway to make a long story short, for my first two ivf's I paid from my pocket but then I found a job which covers ivf..the only thing that kept me going after the m/c was the thought that I would not have to pay for another ivf cycle but just a few days ago I found out that my RE has been taken off the reproductive resource services program that my company participates in. On further investigation, I found out that my clinic was not agreeing to the contracted rates and so they were taken off the program. Anyway, this means that my company will only cover 50% if I go with him as opposed to 100% coverage if I go to a in-network clinic. I am very disappointed and stressed as I am not sure if it would be a good idea to change clinics now considering the fact that my RE knows all my complicated issues and has gotten me pg once even though it didn't last..I am comfortable with him and don't want to go to another clinic that would experiment with me all over again..please advice what I should do? What what you ladies do if you were in my shoes? Is it time for me to find a new RE or just stick with the same one and pay from pocket?

After paying out of pocket I would suggest going with a clinic that your insurance covers if you can find one with gret rates. Any good RE can check your medical records. THis is hard enough without the financial burden, I understand you want to stay with your RE but I would go with 100% coverage good luck!
Ugh, really tough question. If you really think this RE can get you pregnant and can afford it, I would stay. 50% is still a big discount. Good luck to you!

It sounds like the options might be from what I read as saving money versis rapport with your specialist? My insurance doesn't cover anything, but if it did I would weight out the options too! You are comfortable with your specialist, and he knows your history. At the same time, these procedures aren't cheap, and we know medical records can be transferred to any clinic. You've already had all the surgeries and they will know your medical history. I would research the clinics, find out their success rate and try to use your insurance, (which I would personally give my left arm to have.)
Financially speaking, I think anyone would agree! Best of luck with your decision, and pls keep us posted!

I definitely understand your dilemma. I recently gave birth to my daughter after trying for 10 ½ years and suffering stillbirths, several miscarriages, etc. My Re had the RIGHT recipe to get me pregnant and maintain my pregnancy this time. But, two weeks after delivering her in December I got a letter from his clinic saying that he would not accept my insurance anymore. Well, I immediately panicked because I would like to try again in a few years and I know he is the only physician so far that knew exactly what my body needs to maintain a pregnancy, so I have decided that when I want to try again, I will locate him even though he isn’t in network. I figured that he knows exactly what I need and I would have to start over with another physician.
With that said, you will have to decide if your RE is the right physician that you will need to have a successful pregnancy. I wish you good luck in your decision.
WOw that is a tough one. One hand you are comfortable with this RE, which I completely understand. I left an RE I had been seeing for 8 years due to the clinic being very expensive. My insurance $$$ was running out and I knew another RE that had a good reputation but charged alot less.WE still put $$$ out of pocket but alot less if we had not moved to the new RE. My old clinic I had a miscarriage so I knew I could get pregnant, which was a relief to know. I had alot of problems with my meds and E2 levels, which after several cycles of IVF figured what was going to work for me. So, I went to the new RE and basically said this is what meds I need to be on and this is how my body reacts to everything. The RE took his time and did put me through ALOT of procedures and tons of blood work. I am 37 weeks pregnant now.Maybe you could explain your situation to your RE and ask him to refer you to another RE ?? I would switch RE's which I know is really hard but if you get pregnant and have a baby maybe you would want baby # 2 and that would be alot of $$$ to put out of pocket which could = several more times. Plus, in my situation this was baby # 2 for us and switching to the new RE's was really hard with a 5 year old with dragging DD around and all those nasty procedures and endless appts. Believe me it is really hard to be waking your kids up @ the crack of dawn in hopes of maybe getting pregnant. The guilt I felt Does your insurance cover several rounds of IVF ?

I would at least get a 2nd opinion from an RE that your insurance covers. If you don't like him/her or their plan you can always stay with your current RE. you might actually like the 2nd RE better. Who knows, a lot of RE's have free consults so couldn't hurt just to see what your options are. The financial part is a big aspect.
