Carol - last night was the last night before I have icky progesterone suppositories (hopefully for then next 10 weeks or so) so I had to make it a good one! My mother takes special joy in embarrassing my teenage siblings. Hopefully I'll get a chance to embarrass my kids as well!
Oh Ashely - I'm so sorry that you are on this crazy ride. Of course, it's a great sign that your beta almost doubled. Hopefully there is still hope for your little one. Definite answers are so much better than beta hell. I hope your next beta helps!
Kristin - YAY! That is so fantastic! Remember that the baby is tiny right now, so measuring a day off is really not a sign of anything. What a fantastic heartbeat! Maybe talk to women on this board named Riogirl71 and Klinger (her real name is Amanda). Both of them are due in July. Rio saw 2 heartbeats, but one stopped and she lost a twin. Amanda saw two sacs, but like you, one was smaller than the other and her twin didn't make it. I hope your twin does have a heartbeat next time, but if not, you can see a site called CLIMB (Center for Loss in Multiple Birth). They have a forum for 'vanishing twins' and ideas about how to cope with losing one, but still carrying the other. When is your next scan?
Tiger- we were given 30-40% odds with IVF as well. I haven't asked about iUI. Wouldn't the odds be much better than regular IUI because donor sperm is "super sperm"? You're right though - going from 30% to 10% odds is really hard....The HSG is really not a big deal in terms of time or pain. I hope things are clear!
LYD - I know how you feel. I started my suppositories today, so no bad side effects yet. I never have any signs or feelings about implantation - and I've gotten pregnant twice! Hopefully you are just not feeling the teeny tiny baby implanting
Sherry - When they call your husband, make sure he asks them for the beta number, so all of us can obsess with you! My husband never remembers to ask for hormone levels when the nurses call him!
SD - my clinic does betas on 17dpo -which I think is really late. You don't want to do it too early though, either. Can you wait until 13-14 dpo? I think that would be best. Sorry your pee stick was still BFN. For the record, I always get BFN on 10dpo, and usually don't get BFP until 13-14dpo!
Margi - The first ER, I was completely wiped out afterwards. Since then, I've been under general anesthesia and additional 4 times (2 ERs, 1 D&C and an emergency surgery to stop a postpartum hemorrhage). Each time I feel better and better when I wake up. Yesterday, I went 'asleep' at around 8:15. I was awake and eating by 9:15. I felt fine enough to drive by 11am. I guess I'm getting 'used to' it! Also, UGH it's such a ***** to make sure you have your meds AND your needles. I hope FedEx gets them to you really fast!
AFM - I'm concerned about my fert report. Of 17 eggs, 14 were mature. Of those 14 that were ICSI'ed, today 7 of them are growing embryos. That's normal for me (first IVF - 18 eggs, 13 mature, day 3 = 6 embryos and second IVF - 14 eggs, 13 mature, day 3 = 8 embryos, day 5 = 3 blasts + 1-12cell (not frozen)) but I'm starting to get concerned that I'm getting so few embryos from my eggs. Are these normal fertilization rates?
What could be causing so few of the eggs to become embryos? I know that PCO can make you have immature eggs - but what makes the ICSI fail so much? We are using DH's sperm - which is a super low count, but motility and morphology seem to be okay. Could there be a problem with my eggs? That is something we never considered, since I'm 24. Now I'm worried that IUI with donor sperm wouldn't' work either because there is something wrong with my eggs. How do you test the eggs?
In a way, I don't care if there are any to freeze, since I *hate* FETs (never ever ever ever work for me!) and can always do another fresh (paid for by the insurance). But I really really really want 2 of those 7 to make it to blasts on Sunday!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand - the 2ww begins! I'm now 1dpo.... can I POAS yet?
good luck to Samantha & JustSoLost on ERs today and Jeib on her beta!
