Tammy - you have every right to be sad and angry, especially if you think they are not listening to you about your E2 levels. You transfered 4 good embies, something has to be going on. I pray really hard your baby sticks and was just a late implanter. Huge hugs.Image

jkulab - sometimes people don't know what to say so they don't say anything, luckily we don't have this problem!!! As for your boyfriend - it is his duty to make you feel better and comfort you right now! He better have some really good moments or a bunch of crazy IVFers will come after him!! ;)

longtimeivfer - good to see you here our addict friend! I hope this cycle is the lucky one for you! Did the RE say the ganirelix issue was ok?Image

TIger - awesome news on your HSG! Image

SD - that is a grea tbeta since you are so early, talk about getting an early beta!!! Super doubling vibes for you!!! I agree - california babies are great ;) love your PMA!Image

Samantha - you have great numbers! Outcome depends on the quality of embryo and how many you transfer also, starting out with high numbers is great.

Anton - 8 more days to go to start the baby making!!!!Image

Leora - 6 is awesome, I hope you have 6 at day 5!!! Keep up the V8 because once the baby puts HCG in your body you can get late OHSS... better to avoid it by drinking V8 and eating salty stuff!Image

Hope - how are you, beta today right? I hope there is a great number for you!!!!!!!!!!!Image

nquiz - how are those follies doing?Image

Justsolost - fert report?

hotgreentea/nat&alex- beta today? BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Image

Hope this works - good luck tomorow!Image

Lou - feeling better?Image

Margi - your pharmacy gets the Darwin awards for not giving you needles! Geesh, come on AF, I am getting dizzy from dancing so hard!!! Image Image

Thanks riogirl71! Beta tomorrow at 4. We have refrained from any POAS test. I have no idea what to expect tomorrow so I am keeping expectations in check. So tempted to try a POAS test tomorrow morning :). That will be 8 days past a day 5 transfer. Should be enough, right?

Tammy -- I'm really sorry. I was praying for a higher number for you this time. I saw your post to Ghost. Your estrogen level was that low while you were on estrogen patches? I take estrace 2mg three times a day in the 2ww and my estrogen was checked at my beta draw. It was 803. I'm puzzled by your hormone levels. Gosh, you are so lucky things worked out so you could have Zach! I know how much it hurts to have this happen again and again... but it makes me thankful that you were at least able to become a mother. Thinking of you today Tammy and praying that maybe there's a chance things could turn around.

Tiger -- So glad you got the tubes checked and greased up/lubed up for your next IUI. THAT will be the one. It's gotta work!

AFM -- My dreaded spotting is back but it is light. I don't know if it's a bad sign or not. I am very worried about losing this pregnancy. <sigh> This whole process is just one worry after another. I had a nice strong beta number and thought that might mean a strong pregnancy with a good chance of continuing, but now I don't know anything anymore.

Lou - as many girls here have said, many bleed during pregnancy, some bleed a lot, my RE said not to worry unless you are soaking pads - and you are not. Of course you are scared and worried, that is completely normal, hopefully your US will help you ease your worries a bit! 5 days to go!

Hope thisworks - it should be enough to get a line but remember how many false negatives we get here!!! It could be negative you are still very pregnant!

Hope - stalking you for the beta!

Samantha -- Fantastic fert report! You're in great shape for a BFP!!!!

Leora -- You're almost there girl. This is going to work this time and you will join me on the pregnant thread. I insist! :D

Ashley -- Do you have another beta today? I'm praying for another doubling for you. Please keep us posted.

Rio -- Thanks for the reassurance. It's only light brown spotting. So I'm trying not to worry. If my m/c didn't start with two days of this, I wouldn't worry at all. Is it Tuesday yet?

AFM -- Not feeling great today. Very tired. GI issues going on in my stomach causing gas-like pains. A bit of brown spotting again and light cramping too. Not to mention a mild headache. I have to go to a meeting in a few minutes that is going to turn into a debate which I am NOT looking forward to. I need to battle for my position though. Ugh. Did I say I was tired?

Hi ladies,

I'm back from pouting about my BFN :D

So, I need some advice... I think my insurance will cover one more try for IVF. Once I confirm, I need to schedule a consult. So, the practice I go to has 2 main RE's. I just randomly let them select one for me when I went for my initial consult. The RE I used has been head of RE board for many years at 3 area hospitals - so he's pretty experienced. The other RE in the office is pretty well-known from his research and he does a lot of tv interviews, etc. so he's more famous in our area. He's the director of the place. So - do I stick with the same doc that I went through the first cycle because he's more familiar with my case or do I give the other doc a shot? Keep in mind, this is it for me. I won't be able to afford to do another cycle anytime soon.

Also - how soon does it usually take before they start you up again? Can you tell I'm anxious??

Hi everyone!!!

First-Tammy, I'm really praying for you and baby!! My heart is really with you.

AFM-I just left the doctors office & I've got some mixed emotions. They retrieved 12 but only 4 were fertilized & that's using ICSI. That's a huge drop. I'm just a bit floored right now. I'm praying my babies make it. I know it only takes one & I'm praying that God will bless us with at least one healthy beautiful baby from this cycle. So I'm just taking some deep breaths and believing God didn't bring me this far to leave me now.

Much love & tons of congrats for everyone. And for those that have been disappointed this cycle, I'm praying that you be encouraged & know you're not alone.

Kimber, I am sure somone with more knowledge will chime in, but from what I have seen on here most ladies skip a cycle in between IVF, but I guess it depends on what protocol your doc is using. I think if you liked the doc you were seeing, I would stick with him because he knows what worked or didn't work and maybe discuss with him a different more aggressive protocol. The other doc would be able to read about your last IVF but doesn't mean he will think it worked or not without knowing you too well. I think you have to go with comfortability with the RE.

justsolost... I'm not sure how old you are or if you have other fertility issues, but it sounds like many of those 12 may have been either empty or defective. Unfortunately as we get older or are confronted with fertility issues like PCOS it dramatically decreases the quality of the eggs. I know for me, based on my hormone levels (FSH and AMH) I have plenty of eggs left, but I believe a high percentage are of poor quality - hence the reason I have not gotten pregnant yet naturally.

Tammy, I am so sorry you are going through this pregnancy limbo... really unfair, but I am still going to hold out PMA that it could turn around and get better. Just wondering though... I know alot of women take progesterone supplements in the 2ww whether IVF or not, but why the estrogen? Are you estrogen deficient normally or is this just a protocol your doc likes?

Margi.. can't wait to hear about your trip to cali..

Lou.. I'm still believing the spotting is normal - especially if it is brown, that usually means old blood or mucus, which could be from implantation and/or the cervix thickening up. I'm still holding out hope that perfect embie split into two! You will be seeing that beautiful heartbeat(s) in 5 days, right?

Tiger, so happy your tubes are all clear... this could mean good things for this cycle.. get hopping soon! :)

Hope, any beta news yet?

Leora... can't wait to hear the report as to how many you have... just think in a few days you will be PUPO!!!

AFM... Im about a week dpo.. not sure whats going on with my body. We decided to have a progesterone level done today to see if I even ovulated one or any of the three that they saw a few days before O day. I just don't believe they could have matured in that short of time to be anything... not sure why I reacted so poorly to the stim meds - I usually respond very well. Its like my body is giving up before I do! LOL Oh well, time for me to make a decision about next cycle since it will be here in one week - I'm guessing Thursday, 2/24 at 10am. Sux...

I'm going crazy over here, you guys. It's 2:50PM and I still haven't heard back from my RE yet. So, since I was so anxious, I called my nurse just a few mins ago and she said, "oh, she has not signed off on it yet. She has been in surgery, that's why you have not yet received a call. That doesn't mean it's a bad result". So I asked her whether she had the result and she said, "I do, but I can't give it to you". She did say it has definitely increased and is assuming that I'll be continuing my meds. Increase by how much though, she can't tell me. She said to just be patient and she'll write a note for the RE that I'm really anxious to find out. I hope I get the call soon because I really can't concentrate on anything else at this point! *screaming into a pillow*

Carol...I think 99% of women are on estrogen supplement of some sort during IVF and IUI. I'm literally shocked that you arent...cause we older women tend to have lower levels than normal...if I'm not mistaken. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I would definitely be requesting it. And, yes...I have been known to have whacked out hormones at different times over the years...which is why I requested the level...and low and behold, I was right. My level with 2 patches and being pregnant should be at least average 800 (you would think) and definitely not any lower than 200. Mine is 53, it's very low. Something about IVF that...you "need" the supplements. I apparantly need mega doses.

Shell...that really isnt too bad. The average is 1/2 of them are lost...and you're not far off of the average. Sounds like you may have had some little ones that just werent mature enough that they tried retrieving, just to see...dont let it get you down. More than likely these 4 will grow and 1 or 2 of them will be your baby one day.
Chin up!

Kimber...Definitely stick with your doc who knows you. Unfortunately, most of the time the 1st IVF is a practice one and the doc tweaks things for the 2nd one and is able to make it happen. Glad you're doing a little better and ready to try again. Most docs start with the very next cycle...some like a month between...you'll have to ask them. Good Luck!!

Lou...I hope you're home resting and feeling better. Im sorry the spotting has you worried so. Can you take tomoorow off? Yes, I am seriously very blessed...and I feel it even more with each cycle.

HopethisworksM...I cant believe they're doing your beta at 13dpo...that's kinda early compared to the rest of us...so dont expect a huge number to compare. If you take a hpt tomorrow morning...you "should" see a line...but there is still a chance that you'll be pregnant and it wont show. For the best results...use a First Response Early Result (not digital)...and if you dont see the line...open the test (there's a place on the side to stick a knife in it and flip it open)...take out the strip and it hold up to the light and look for a second line. I have detected betas of 3, 7, and 8. No kidding. Good Luck tomorrow!

Tiger...Glad everything looks clear and that you're ready to go again. Good Luck!

Samantha...Awesome news! Congrats!

Leora... Looking good! I'm soo excited for you! I cant wait to stalk your FB for pics in about 9 months.

SD...Awesome early beta...looking forward to tomorrows.

Ashley...Good Lord...I cant believe they are making you wait like this and for the nurse to give you some info and not all?! Ugh. Praying for you.

Sherry and Nat&Alex...Anxiously waiting...hoping and praying.

Margi...AF here yet?

Darlene...Thank you. Lucky for me, even if my doc dont agree with me...he listens to me and is willing to try what I want. He has even told me that since I seem to know quite a bit...that he respects my opinion. Heck, he told us a couple of weeks ago...that we could almost do our own ER/ET by now. lol I have come to realize that if something has not been "proven"...then he tends to not believe in it. I wish he wasnt like that, but he is a fantastic well-known doctor...so I will take him as he comes. lol

Ryann...I hope I didnt run your phone battery down. lol Hope you're feeling better, too. Thanks for the prayers.

Anton, Kynlee, Angela, longtimerivf, and all...Thank you for the prayers and good thoughts.

dame this board has had a rough week if you ask me ane very slow today.
tammy am so sorry for what is happening. i hope that bean keeps growing. think i had of a story someone with a beta of 7 ended up delivering a healthy baby. so lets hope and pray that beta doubles.
lou- my dear try to relax mama. all is okay with that bean growing in you.
justsolost- gosh what can i say? maybe the eggs were immature, dont get discouraged, remember it only takes one.

leorira-hang in there girl. drink that getorade and relax preparing for sunday pupo to be.
cjinnc- so what was the prog level :?: give some credit to the eggs. you know slow but sure sometimes. your bfp is on the wa.y. girl you are crazy you even know the exact time your ugly witch will arrive  that is funny. lool this time she will fool you. so bring on that bfp.
Kimber- i dont have advice but i guess whoever you feel comfortable with is whom you get to see. all the best thisnext cycle. make sure you ask lots of questions to clear the air.

Nwquiz...Thanks for the story. I do believe in miracles and am just not willing to give up yet...but am also going to stay realistic.

You know...I just got to thinking. This whole estrogen thing is making so much sense now. I was on estrace pills AND patches for my FET in April (I had the tender boobs side effect of it) and remained pregnant till almost 6 weeks...which just so happened to be shortly after stopping the estrogen supplements..and was also when my tender boobs went away almost immediately after stopping the supplements. You would think the tender boobs would persist since I was pregnant with a good beta. Then in Sept when I miscarried after about 1 week...(never had tender boobs) was never on estrace...just patches. In November...basically the same...only pregnancy never got past a beta of 8 (no estrace and no tender boobs). Basically the same thing this time. So no tender boobs = not enough estrogen in me? I wonder if I will suddenly get tender boobs again in the next 24 hrs...
