I'll get the call later on to see what time I trigger... and ER sunday!!! My ovaries hurt!!! but I'm so happy I didn't surge I don't care how much they hurt!!!
I'm hoping I don't hyperstim 'cause my estrogen was very high... but I'm taking it one day at a time after that ganirelix scare!!!

Tammy - My progesterone is most likely low because of the quality of the egg, so supplements aren't going to help with egg quality or fertilization. I don't really have a progesterone deficiency and I do ovulate, they just aren't the best quality. Taking progesterone supplements in my case may just prolong an inevitable chemical m/c from a "bad" egg. Don't get me wrong.. I think there are some cases that need it due to a deficiency or especially after IVF when the follicle may not be around to produce enough progesterone to sustain the pregnancy. Besides, when I did conceive last time my progesterone level was fine on its own, so I can produce it... .its just going to take a better egg. Plus, I would probably be more inclined to take the supplement after I found out I was pregnant and my progesterone level was low, but even then, I think low progesterone in that case may be a result of nature taking its course.

Longtime... most docs like to see a level over 15 and I was on clomid and follistim, so if I ovulated a good egg, it should have been higher. I'm not saying its impossible, but its highly unlikely given my history... it really sucks to know our bodies so well...

Thank you ladies so much.

Have any of you tried acupuncture for your IVF/FET cycles? My IVF nurse and RE mentioned it saying that some women seem to respond to it, but they weren't necessarily endorsing it. At any rate, it should help with relaxation anyway, eh?

Hi guys - had my mid 2ww check of E2 and Progesterone. this is the first cycle they did it. My E2 was over 1000 ( which i guess is not surprising given that it was over 3000 towards the end of stimming) and my prog is over 20. So i guess i am set in that regard. Still not feeling much activity "down under" - keeping my fingers crossed that the embie(s) is still alive and thriving.
If not I'll be joining Sherry on the FET train :)

Tammy - congrats on the timely enfusion of E2! well done!!! now your embie will grow grow grow!

Leora - ET is coming up so exciting!! You'll be pupo with 5 day embies soon. how many are you thinking of putting in this time?

Margie - we'll be welcoming you to Sothern Cali soon! the rains are passing through this week, but will stop in time for your arrival to give you a proper southern cali welcome :)

Samantha - so sorry to hear about your trobles. i hope you are feeling better by now. let us know how your visit to the hospital went? what did they say? was it OHSS or something else?

Lou - great to hear you have a relaxing weekend planned. Enjoy every minute of it! I am looking forward to presidents day myself. my dear dear son ( god bless his heart and his energy ) will be with his daycare lady, while my hubby and i will have a pleasant lunch together alone for the first time in 11 months. we should probably look into babysitting options to have an occasional meal out. we havent done that yet.

Longtimer - congrats on not ovulating! you might have spilled your ganirelix, but not your eggs :) They are safe for the harvesting tomorrow.

After a failed cycle, do you ladies indulge yourselves with something you've wanted by going shopping or pigging out on food? How do you cope?

During the cycle, I wanted to go clothes shopping, but kept putting it off because I didn't want to spend money on regular clothes if I got pregnant, and didn't want to buy maternity clothes in case it didn't work. Forget it! I am buying what fits me now. Shoes always fit though, eh?

Sushi... Ah yes! I LOVE it! Since starting the cycle, I stopped drinking beer, understandably. The most I would have was maybe one or two a week, if that. Now I don't even want it. Sushi, though, I could eat everyday.

Sorry to be a board hog today. I am off work today and waiting for my husband to come home from work.

I am already starting to spot, and my last progesterone dose was yesterday morning (Crinone 8% gel) and PIO was Wednesday night. Could this mean anything that I am already getting af so soon? After my IUI cycle, I started af before I even stopped progesterone, and I still had a faint bfp (not sure if it was chemical or still from the trigger, 12dptrigger). Do I have something wrong with my lining even though it looks good on ultrasound?

I had to have surgery when I was 16 to get my period going. I was getting periods, but due to having an imperforate hymen, I could not bleed out. Do you think the build up could have caused scaring?

Rio: My friend and board cheerleader...so very sorry about your friend’s pet. What a wonderful thing you did trying to help. It is so tough to lose a pet, but especially bad when it is so sudden like that. Image

SD/Nicole: Alright...I guess it wasn’t you then. LOL. That caused my delay in AF, but all is well now...I got the green light to stim! I couldn’t be more happy. As to staying out West through beta day...I wish I had that much time to stay. Unfortunately I am going to feel pressed for time staying for the 10 days I have planned. There is a good chance I may have to extend my “vacation”, but we shall see. Two years ago when I had a horrible case of OHSS that spiraled into other things I lost all my accrued vacation/sick time. 3 months worth. BETA of 67!!!! Woohoo! Excellent. Look at your bean grow! So very happy for you and DH.Image

Samantha: How are you doing dear? I am worried about you...is it OHSS? Something else? What has RE said? Praying that you are doing ok.Image

Tammy: LOVE IT!!! Love the stick. Love the lines (I can definitely see it!!) "Estrogen is like Oxygen"...grow bean grow!!! Love the names idea too! ;-) Praying for a perfect rise for you tomorrow-and, I like Rio’s idea of a text--it will be torture for us if you make us wait! And kill cell phone batteries checking the board all day. I can’t wait to jump and scream and celebrate with you.Image

Anton: Wonderful blinkies and smilies!! Fabulous energy. Definitely lots of positive energy. Keep it up and Image

Leora: Glad you got back to the acupuncturist. I think it will help you relax if nothing else and that is a good thing. I always wondered about the position of the needles. The woman I see changes the area slightly, but usually on my belly, my arms, my lower leg and feet. Then I flip over and she puts them on my neck and back and arms. Then she leaves me like that for 20 min and I always doze off. Hope you are getting to relax and feel good and ready for those embies to come home. Hoping for 2 for now and 2 for later for you!ImageImage2 more sleeps and you will be PUPO!!! (And you can move me now to Grow Follies Grow!!)

Lou: Like your plan of doing NOTHING this weekend...it is exactly what you need. Take good care...and I plan on continuing acupuncture after I get my BFP as well. She says there are lots of benefits--especially during 1st trimester for miscarriage prevention as well as helping with morning sickness. And during acupuncture--I also doze off...it is the wierdest thing! I get so relaxed, and with the nice music....out I go!

Shell (Justsolost): Glad you put away the CMA...good luck with ET tomorrow--you will be PUPO!! 2 in and 2 frosties for siblings. Sounds perfect to me!

Lyd: Thanks for stopping the rain before my arrival. I appreciate it. I need the sunshine!!Image

Longtimerivf: Whew! Glad everything is A-OK and on schedule.

Sherry: I am a definite believer in acupuncture. There are studies to suggest that it increases pregnancy rates, and I find that it is very relaxing to me. That, in and of itself, is such a wonderful benefit through the stressful time of IVF to make it worth it. This is actually my first cycle of IVF with acupuncture--I started doing it during my last 2 rounds of IUI. And yes, several of us have “indulged” in some retail therapy to help cope with BFN’s. Whatever fits...buy it! ;-)

Kynlee: Thanks for cheering everyone on. March will be here before you know it and you can get to sticking!!

AFM: I got the Image so all systems go!!! This woman is going to be a stimming machine! I was a little bit worried that my AFC was low, but the tech said it is probably because I am only day 2 (and barely day 2 since AF started late yesterday.) I missed my call from the nurse so I just heard to get started stimming and didn't get to ask her about AFC. The tech said if I got a count tomorrow it would likely be higher. I certainly hope so. But I am going to be sticking myself happily here soon and willing my follies to grow...grow...grow..this is it!!! I go in on Tuesday for SnS and head to Cali on Thursday! It is so hard to believe that it is finally so close. I wish DH could come with me on Thursday, but he can't miss work on Friday. He'll arrive on the weekend.
