Carol - I really hope this IUI is *it* for you, but if not, maybe saving for IVF would be good too. This infertility and IVF shit is so hard, I'm just so thankful that finances aren't an issue for us. I can't imagine how I would feel if I was spending tens of thousands of dollars on this crap - instead of things I want to buy (vacations, houses, cars, etc)

Nicole (SD) - the pee sticks tempt me from the day I decide to cycle again! But now is when it starts to get serious.... just one weeks until POAS!

Tammy - I am sooo sooooo sorry. Maybe you need more testing to figure out what is going wrong. Have you done blood clotting test? I know that Ghost mentioned a balanced trans-location - can you get tested for that? -- you are so brave for starting again....

nwquiz - I agree that relaxing is a key part. However you can is great! Have you tried meditation CDs (basically, calming music and voice that guides you through relaxing techniques). My MIL uses them and lent me a few. I'm going to try it tomorrow afternoon. I never did IUI, but I understand that 3 follies is great! Hopefully just the same amount on the other side too!

Ashley - the crazy thing about doubling (or halving) times is that it's exponential growth, not linear. The higher it goes, the faster it grows! Hopefully that number will be 2000+ and we can chalk up the first beta to stupid lab error - for now, enjoy being preggers!

Katie - I love your countdown ticker --- less than a month until your FET! I hope AF is nice and easy with you...

Lauren - how are you doing? still waiting on the stupid insurance paperwork?

AFM - yes.... it's 3am my time and I'm still awake.... I just can't sleep (and for some reason feel the need to bake - so yummy biscuits coming out of the oven in a few minutes). I guess I'll probably be awake until I call the clinic at 7:30 to schedule what time to come in for FET (assuming there are still some embryos alive). And all this is AFTER I took my Xanax.... why isn't it working? I guess I'm more chill than I would be without it, but I still can't sleep. Oh well.... this way, I'll come home from the ET and take a nice long nap.

I just found out a friend is pregnant. With her fourth. In less than 5 years. And she's 34 (which is not old, but certainly older than me). Ugh.

Also - on Friday, as we were out shopping in the shuk (the open air market - yes, I really do live in the Middle East!), I found a little fleece baby blanket with little penguins on it (for those that don't know, I'm quite a bit obsessed with penguins). It cost only the equivilant of $1, so David insisted that I buy it. It's tucked safely away in a drawer now.... but I'm hoping to have a use for it soon. This is the first and only baby thing I've ever bought (besides the stupid double snap-n-go stroller I bought when pregnant with the twins for really cheap on craigslist..... that I have NO use for now.) I'm hoping this is a good sign....

Oh Tammy I am just so pissed off for you right now. You deserve to stay pregnant and I just wish there was somethin I could do. I'm glad your getting back in the game-you are working so hard at figuring out what you can do to make them stick....i would have hated to see you stop. Sending you huge hugs.

Hope...don't be discouraged about needing big jumps...my beta went from 824 to 3,408 to days later. It's definitely possible. And even if it doesn't go as high as you think it should doesn't necessarily mean bad news. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you.

Margi...Cali here you come!!!!! Yay! I can't wait to stalk your cycle! I feel nothing but good vibes coming from it!

PS NWQUIZ: For each of my IUIs I stimmed shorter than with IVF. I stimmed exactly for 7 days and then triggered--if that helps. I know that I didn't get any BFP--but I only have one tube and am quite a bit older than you are. I think you are on track just fine. (Although knowing your E2 level would help) Did you get your call to tell you what to do?

AFM: Road Trip!!! We just booked a trip to Pittsburgh...we'll hit the zoo/aquarium, children's museum, science museum, ikea, the incline, station square...go swimming/hot tubbing at a pretty nice hotel with a bar/restaurant...and get a much needed break. I cant wait!! It is just what we need right now.

Congrats) because we had our FETs the same day in December and you got pregnant and I didn't. But hopefully, I'll be just 12ish weeks behind you, which won't matter at all in a few years!

Lauren - ducks, huh? My grandmother loves ducks, but she only buys super expensive ones (crystal, china, gold, silver). She has display cbainets all over her apartment. It's like a fake duck museum! Awesome about keeping a penguin in the freezer! I actually have penguin shaped ice cube trays (that make penguin shaped ice cubes), which is perfect!

Margi - I'm so glad to hear your PMA is so strong. I need to find mine... it keeps disappearing....

Heather - hi - long time no see. I hope this next cycle is really good for you. I know that my two little angels are playing with your angel and watching over their mommies....

Tammy - PITTSBURGH? no shit! That's my hometown! Say hi to my mom for me! The zoo there is awesome and they have a great kid's section. Have a great great great time! A vacation sounds so awesome, even if it's 'just' to Pittsburgh.

AFM - ET was this morning. All 6 of our embryos were still growing, but I was kinda confused. 3 of them were morlae (one really good/almost blast, one okay and one 'eh') and the other 3 were still smaller (12c, 8c and 7c). Aren't embryos that are still 7 or 8 cells on day 5 REALLY not progressing well? My doc said that they grow them until until they stop growing - they don't discard any that are still growing. But only 7 cells on day 5 seems a bit strange to me.

We transferred the 2 best looking morlae. We find out tomorrow if any of the others make it to freeze. I'm betting just the other morla - last time we also had a 12c on day 5 that didn't make it to freezing. I doubt the 7 and 8 cell will catch up at this point.

Hopefully, I won't have to think about FETs for a long time, but if I have only one so-so quality morla in the freezer, I will throw a shit fit if they make me do a FET for that, instead of another fresh. They've already made some exceptions for me (because they feel bad about my history), so hopefully I can bend some rules.

okay - I'm off to snuggle in my PJs with my dog, a cup of hot cocoa and a movie.

My AF came on Saturday; just like what I said, if it is BFN, my AF will come two days before the beta test (2.21). I really wonder when my embryos will stick and grow. They were beautiful embryos. Another confirmation (the beta test) will come tomorrow.

Talking about getting embryos to stick on the womb, does physically plant embryos into the linen work? In my 2nd IVF, I had a strange sensation inside my womb during the ET. The doctor said that the catheter tip was touching the linen. Then I felt the sensation again, as if the doctor tried to make sure the embryos were planted into the womb. At that time, they measured positive beta even though the beta did not last long. I had 3 different doctors for my 3 ETs. Did anyone have such an experience or can comment on such a trick to get embryos to implant? Thanks!

well during ivf i always stimmed for 12 days. this cycle has been the shortest of all cycles only 7 days but the doc says i responded fast?or was the gonal the magic pill for me it better be margi for that long awaited bfp.
ans yes monday 8.15am is the iui.

ASM - i went to the doc's on friday. she also said that she was very concerned when she saw the pics of the embryos if they would be able to stick. i just knew that the quality was so bad when i first looked at them. she wanted me to wait a month before i start another cycle. i said no, i want to keep going. now i'm just waiting for my AF to come so i can start the next cycle. she said that 17 eggs are great and i'm responding well to stims. she's going to start me off with 3bravelles instead of 4...i guess i responded too fast and wants a slower and more uniformed follie growth. now, my bf has to do alot of work. he has to see a urologist and quick his smoking, at least decrease the best he can, and also decrease his drinking too. we had a talk and i told him what he needed to do. he's known for many years that he needed to stop doing these things but now, it's catching up to him. i pretty much laced into him about how bad the embryos looked and it's probably due to his sperm quality, and that he has to do what it takes to make his boys better. and that i'm not going thru this 3-4 more times! i'm hoping that it's sinking into his head!
