Leora - congrats on the transfer! i've never gone to 5 days so i dont know what it means to have 12 cell on day 5. But even with 3 day i've always had a range of faster and slower embryos. my embryologyst always asigned higher chances to the faster ones, but i dont know - we froze them all - so at some point i'll probably get to try the slower ones as well.

Tammy - your upcoming roadtrip sounds fantastic!

AFM - cant wait till my beta on 2/24. i am not going to poas because I am not feeling any good symptoms down there so i dont want to be upset. i'll wait till thursday, go in at 8am, then get a call from my doctor at noon probably and be prepared to handle the answer. if its a negative, then we'll make plans for FET right away.

This is the 3 time Iam trying to post with no luck! dont know what went wrong i didn;t even had time to save what I've written! bummer! so, here we go...

Leorira- Congratulations on being a PUPO my friend!! I am so happy for you and pray that those 2 embies you have transfered are going to make you a proud mommy I am very optimistic about this time for you! you are going to be just fine! just take a deep breath and start your 9 month journey!!! what movie did you saw today? I am a movie freak!

Tammy- I am so sorry my friend. I really prayed for you & thought this was IT for you!...I am so glad at the same time that you are such a strong woman that want's to get back on the IVF rollercoaster asap. Focus on Zach and your DH for know. they need you to be strong. I love your idea of the road trip!! this trip is going to be an excellent distruction! more than you think! My DH everytime we get a BFN he surprise me with a trip somewhere to relax and keep our minds off IVF for a while. Trust me, this really helps a lot! On our 1st BFN he suprised me with tickets to London, UK to watch a "Coldplay" concert. we love that band. it was exactly what we needed, we relaxed and got ready anxious to start our next IVF cycle. On our 2nd BFN he surprised me with thickets to a Friday-Sunday getaway in a Spa Resort. No words can describe it!! on our 3rd BFN he surpised me with a week trip in a Greek island named "KOS" we went in August and again we came back excited and positive for our next cycle. In our 4th BFN (all BFN's with IVF) he surprised me with a 5 day trip to London, UK...among other things he bought us tickets to the Emirates Stadium to watch our favorate soccer team "ARSENAL". Unforgetable experience! I hope this time on our 5th IVF we get a BFP and dont travel for a long, long, long, long time!!!!

Lauren - I loved your story about the firemen! Did they looked like them???

Wannabeamum- Congratulations on being POPO!! I am so happy for you! I wish to you both BFP's and healthy pregnancies with healthy babies!

SDTrying/Hopethisworks- Congratulations!!!! Awesome news from both! I hope your betas double, triple and reach the ceeling! Enjoy your pregnancies!

Leora- congrats on being on being PUPO with 2 embies!!! The penguin blanket will come in handy and tell DH no more sleeping until noon in 9.5 mos!!!!

Kerri - I am sorry, you are not supposed to touch the uterus with the catheter because it will cause contractions and could expell the embryos. When I did a mock one and they touched my uterus and I thought I was going to throw up.

Jeib: I had embryo quality issues on my first IVF too . . . my RE put me on a growth hormone (omnitrope) that has shown some promising research . . . it may have helped, as I got my BFP on IVF #2 . . . I also did acupuncture and assisted hatching . . .

longtimerivf - hope our follies are getting big and fat and numerous =) My ER is 2.24 and ET is 2.27 . . .

samantha/leora - I'll be sending good sticky vibes your ways =)

AFM, I started ganaralix last night . . . i have an u/s tomorrow . . . still on target for a 2.24 ER and 2.27 ET . . . RE says my estrogen is rising nicely and levels are similar to that of my BFP IVF cycle . . . I actually have more follies this time around than in my two previous cycles . . . guess my daughter kicked my ovaries into overdrive on her way out =)

Leora- thanks a lot for checking on me dear. As you must have guessed, it's another BFN for me. Planning to take a break now and do something for few months to improve the egg quality etc..
Congrats on being PUPO!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this cycle will give you your baby/ babies! You deserve it!

Tammy- I'm so sorry. But as Lou was saying, you are so blessed to have Zach! Enjoy your vacation!

Sunshine-I am so sorry dear. Take as much time as you need! we are here for you if you need us. I hope you dont get lost for long the IVF journey is so hard and it really helps when you get support from people that go through the same or similar situations. Be brave my friend and have faith! Lauren- OH!!!! I was really hoping the guys where looking like those model ones! damn!! like you said if they looked like that I would turn the firealarm on once a week too!!

Deftonesmo- hey! 3 more days to ER!! I am so excited for you! Glad everything is going great and I hope omnitrope really helps the quality of your embies. Like you said, I have too already suggested my ER to do assisted hatching if possible and also if possible I want a 5 day transfer. I have read many studies on these too and also heard personal experiences and it seems that its more likely to end up with a BFP.

Kerri - I'm sorry that AF showed early.... There is in theory a "sweet spot" to place the embryos, but anywhere in the uterus works. Actually touching the sides of the uterus hurts, so they don't do that.

nwquiz - IUI today! Good luck! I didn't mean to pry in asking about sperm donors, but we are all anonymous here anyways. DH and I are considering switching to IUI with donor sperm.... we'll see though. Sperm banks are a HUGE issue here (aren't nearly enough donors, and there are some tricky 'religious' issues with using a sperm donor of the same religion - loooooooong complicated story) and the soonest we could get an appt with the sperm bank is MAY SECOND! grrr..... Hopefully I'll be very pregnant by then, but I scheduled an appt anyway, just in case.

Jeib - you are doing a new fresh cycle right away? (just clarifying) Your boyfriend should quit smoking for many many reasons! Push him to do that! I hope this cycle is much better for you!

LYD - ideally on day 5, the embryos should be blasts. We've never had blasts on day 5 - always morlae (the stage before blast). Which means our embryos are a little bit slow. But 7c on day 5 means VERY slow. I hope your beta is a big fat surprise!

Nicole - thanks! Did I read your other post right? Hawaii? THAT'S AWESOME! Business or pleasure or both? With your son, or just the two (well, three!) of you? When do you have an official beta/ultrasound? (from what I understand, with a prescription, you can bring any needles and vials. Ask a diabetic friend!)

Anton - I love movies too! I like all kinds of movies, but I was in the mood for something light and stupid. I watched "Love, Actually" which I've seen a million times and I LOVE! Today's plan for the afternoon is Mr & Mrs Smith (I've never seen it and it seems really stupid). Thanks for bringing your amazing attitude to this board! Just a few more days until your blood test!

deftonesmo - yay for starting ganirelix - just a few more days! How did the u/s go? Lots of follies? I usually trigger after about 5 days of ganirelix, so you are right on track

sunshine 12 - wow. I'm so sorry. Has your doctor recommended any additional testing (blood clotting, etc) to try to figure out why you got 3 BFNs in a row? I'm so sorry hon.

Lauren - that's not what your DH looks like? I thought that was the whole point of dating/marrying a fireman!

I know I *should* wait until a week from today at least.... but can I pee on Friday ? 5dp5dt.... I've always gotten a BFN on that day, even cycles I've been pregnant.... ookay, so I should wait until Sunday.... GAAAAAH! I want to know already!

We are talking to the baby already.... David keeps rubbing my tummy and saying "daddy loves you so much already". I really hope that works!

HOLY SHIT!

Of course, I would never sell my prescription drugs to someone else.... but if in theory I wanted to sell my leftover meds to someone - I calculated the cost I paid for them in US $. I paid about $4 per vial of Menopur and about $5 per syringe of ganirelix. I was curious what the 'out of pocket' price was for these drugs in the USA, so I looked it up online. http://www.freedomfertility.com/fertili ... icing.aspx

WTF? each 75iu vial of Menopur is $90! I took 3 per day! I knew that IVF was really expensive, but that's sooooo crazy!

(I guess this is why I pay 40% of my salary to taxes -- to subsidize our national health care and other social welfare programs)
