Etopic Pregnancy?

Post by Sunshine1576 »

While I'm waiting for a phone call from my clinic to instruct me on what to do, I called my best friend in Alabama and she thinks I might could be having an etopic pregnancy? I told her I'm now 2 weeks late and both hpt were negative. My nerves are shot and I cannot do anything but cry because I know there must be something wrong.
Has anyone ever been 2 weeks late, and tested negative before?

Sunshine I am so very sorry....this sounds very stressful! Did your clinic do a blood test for you? Do you have any pains? Ectopic typically has pain that won't subside. It isn't likely ectopic because with an ectopic you have hcg in your blood and will get a positive test, just the levels won't rise properly. There are lots of reasons for delayed AF...the hormones from IVF/IUIs can make your system out of wack, stress, etc. Did your clinic agree to see you? I hope that all is well. Definitely get everything checked out....sending you some prayers...

Thank you for responding Margi. :D Clinic finally called me back to reassure me that I'm not going through menopause. She asked if I had lost any weight, I told her no. She said sometimes if you get below the BMI it can cause abnormalities in cycle. She said it could be stress-related and wants me to try to "wait it out". But I told her I'm scheduled to have laproscopic surgery next week. She then told me she is going to email my RE to ask what he recommended, if they need to put me on something like femora to jumpstart my cycle. She said it will be this afternoon before I hear back. I did ask her if it could be ectopic, but she said most likely not. I was surprised they didn't ask me to come in today, but surely they would do bloodwork before putting me on any med. Wouldn't you think so? No pain other than having a severely upset stomach.

The most common place that ectopic pregnancy occurs is in one of the fallopian tubes. These are the tubes that transport the egg from the ovary to the uterus. Ectopic pregnancies also can be found on the outside of the uterus, on the ovaries, or attached to the bowel.

I think you better ask your ob-gyne about this for the best advice and prescription. But as far as I am concern, etopic pregnancy is a pregnancy complication wherein you can’t go on to have healthy pregnancy and children in the future. While the experience is most definitely a traumatic one, take some comfort in knowing that it doesn’t have to be the last pregnancy you ever experience. But to make sure, like what I said earlier, better consult your doctor. Good luck and I hope for the solution of your problem.
