Hey Reenie no they have not said anything about that. Is that just what you are measing based onthe babies measurments? Last check they told me both weights and said that was 50%. Maybe I will ask next week. Although I won't have an US. I hope you are feeling better. I have a friend that is carrying twin girls as a (surrogacy). She is having a C-section on the Feb 8th at 37weeks preggo. She is already meaning like 45Weeks and they are expected both to be about 8 pounds. That is crazy big to me. I hope you feel better and try and rest as much as possible. Our little ones will be here soon!

Katie G-My OB started measuring my fundal height at each appointment around 24 weeks. They measure the size of your belly from the pubic bone to the top of the uterus. I think in single pregnancies, you're supposed to measure right around how many weeks pregnant you are, but for twins, they expect you to be much larger. I'm about 29 weeks now, so if my fundal height was 29 weeks, my OB would be concerned. It's supposed to give you some indication of fetal growth and development. They just use a tape measure.

Still here, Jamila.

Had another OB appointment yesterday. My blood pressure shot up again yesterday and my weight gain has accelerated, not decelerated. OB thinks its just fluid. My total weight gain for the pregnancy is only about 30-some pounds which is fine, but it's the pace of gain that bears watching at this point. Along with the blood pressure, fluid retention, and trace protein in my urine, he wants to watch me closely to make sure that preeclampsia doesn't develop. Thought I would be able to avoid problems in the 3rd trimester, but I guess that's not to be. The babies might be coming sooner rather than later as my body might not be able to hold up. To make it even more annoying, after lying down for about 5 minutes, my blood pressure fell back down to normal.

How is everyone doing? The thread has been quiet!

KatieG-how are the twins doing? You're about to enter your 33rd week, right?

Jamila-how was your latest OB appointment?

JustLikeHannah-how are your symptoms?

I'm starting to feel really run down now. Swelling has begun, mainly in my fingers/hands, knees, and calves, but my ankles are normal for some reason. I'm not sleeping well as I can't find a comfortable position even with loads of pillows. However, we are making progress on our nursery finally. The furniture gets delivered next week! Have you all had baby showers?

Hi Ladies, sorry about being MIA. For some reason my notifications for this thread are not working.

Reenie I also have a bit of swelling in my knees, but also in my ankles depending on what kind of shoes I wear :) Have you had to take off your rings? I pray all these other symptoms subside and you are able to carry the little ones at least till 36 weeks. Get as much rest and water as you can. Generally does the trick for me. :) Keep us posted

Jamila So sorry to hear about your shower, but thankfully you still received some items and made progress with the nursery. :)) My grandmother said she would wash my babies clothes, now I just need to separate them and take them over to her. Everything feels like a massive task at this point...

AFM I had been doing really well until this past week where I've had two nights of contractions, nothing too regular, but definitely uncomfortable. I contributed the first time to stress and a busy week, and the other night (last night) to dehydration. I suppose I'm going to have to step up on the things that had been working and increase my water and rest. Really want to keep these babies in as long as possible. However, my appt this past Monday showed the babies growing and doing wonderfully. My boy is 3.3lbs and my girl is 3.5lbs, so doing well. :) Lastly, I had my shower 2 weeks ago and it was wonderful! I received many necessities and quite a few items on my registry. And yesterday, I went to work to my desk blocked by huge boxes of diapers, over 1,500. I was so thankful! So anyways, it's been a good few weeks, I just have to up my relaxation and hydration.

Justlikehannah I am to hear from you, sorry about the contractions that you been having but like you said lots of water and enought rest will be the best advice. I am also glad that you had you shower and got lots of things specially the diapers i thought they did a great job on that gift.

About my shower i was kind of glad because i was already done with my shopping and also i did not want to bother people specially right now people are struggling to make ends meets. When come to diapers and wipes i will not have to buy it because my husband is a manager for a medical company so we get it for free. So ladies we went to the movie today and we saw the just go with it since Adam Sandler is one of my favorite actor and maybe today will be the last going to the movie before the bay comes.

Anyway glad to hear from you and take it easy.

Hi All,

Yes, the wedding ring stopped fitting a few weeks ago. I don't know if my regular work shoes fit as I migrated to sneakers full time a couple of weeks ago. Doesn't exactly fit with my work attire, but luckily everyone at work understands. Just had a growth scan and the babies weigh 3 lbs 11 oz. Next week, I go back to the perinatologist to start weekly non-stress tests until delivery.

I haven't really had much in the way of B-H contractions, though. My cervix has thinned out a little, but that's it. My OB has told me to take my activity level down quite a bit-complete rest on the weekend, 4-day workweek. Unfortunately, that means my husband has been solely responsible for finishing the nursery. But he doesn't seem to mind-he said my only job right now is to grow babies.

Is it easy to tell the difference between contractions and the babies moving? Sometimes I think it's a contraction, but it's really one of the babies squirming around.

Reenie it is good thing that the babies are growing well, i know i am having hard time fitting to my shoes specially that i steel wear high heals when i am going out even though my OB said that it is not safe i bought 3 pairs of flat shoes but it doesn't work with me.
The contraction feels like bad mentruals cycle i had it the day we were fixing the nursery, and it really hurt so you will definatlly know when you have them. So follow the OB advice rest and take it easy to avoid strict bed rest, take care and let the hubby do the work.

Hello ladies!

Just checking in to see how everyone and their growing babies are doing. My babies are doing extremely well, but unfortunately I am on modified bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy. Last week I had to go into L&D due to contractions that wouldn't stop. Thankfully they were only consecutive Braxton hicks, since they weren't dilating my cervix at all; still a tight "0". But I still had to have 3 doses of tubertaline (sp?) to get them to calm down and eventually stop. Wasn't fun for me, but the kiddos enjoyed all the extra attention and were wide awake the entire time we were there. I went into my Dr the next morning and had an ultrasound to review their lung growth and use, activity, stomach, and brain development. They both scored an 8 out of 8. That's awesome, so now I just pray my body cooperates to allow them to keep growing strong. I'm confident that getting more rest and relaxing will help us get to 36-38 weeks.

Anyways, how are you ladies?

Hi All,

I've had a few trips to the hospital in recent weeks. I've been showing early and growing signs of preeclampsia, so i've also been to the maternity ward for additional testing. The babies are passing their non-stress tests with flying colors so they are doing fine, but at my body's expense. Luckily my bloodwork comes back normal but there is still a lot of protein in my urine and my blood pressure is high but comes down after spending some time lying down. So I'm on complete bed rest, up for bathroom and shower only. Not fun, but it might be the only thing that gets me to 36-38 weeks. I hadn't planned on stopping work completely yet, but that's what I've had to do. I'm also having more and more Braxton Hicks contractions, but they aren't causing dilation, so that's good.

Hope everyone else is doing better.

Hi Reenie,

Hate to hear the possibility of preeclampsia, but glad you're getting rest. Bringing two humans into the world is no joke :)

Are you visiting your Dr every week now? And getting ultrasounds each time?

Thankfully, we are almost there and will be holding our double blessings in no time. Please keep us posted on your progress. I'll be praying for our bodies to cooperate through the remainder of this process. Take care and get Netflix if you don't already have it :))

I have weekly OB appointments and twice-weekly non-stress tests. It seems like they want me to do bloodwork and urine tests frequently too so I'm being monitored regularly. My blood pressure seems to be the biggest problem. It will be ridiculously high when the nurse takes it initially and then it will fall back significantly within 15 minutes or so. I'm sure it's part anxiety as I'm worried about what my BP will be and how much protein will show up in my urine before I step into the doctor's office. Oh well. I'm in my 33rd week, so not too long to go now.
