Lyd: My traveling went fine with needles--actually, RIDICULOUSLY FINE. I was so nervous because I decided to carry meds and needles with me because I was afraid the luggage might get lost--and then what would I do! And, also, who knows how hot it might get in checked baggage part of plane and I didn’t want to chance messing my meds up. So I put in a cooler and had a note from my doctor explaining I needed all this meds and needles for daily injections. I also made sure I had the scripts for all the meds with my name on it. And when I went through security I was prepared to be stopped and asked...but no. Nope. Nada. My needles and meds (Lupron, GonalF, Menopur, Novarel and Crinone) all in a lunchpail didn’t even cause the guy reading the x-ray to pause. Go figure. But I am really glad that I was prepared with my note. Good luck traveling to the Phillipines. That sounds like a long trip. And, yes, of course you will be needing those fun PIO shots because yes, you will still be pregnant!!

Carol: Love your PMA!! Have you started your stimming?

Hold that pee --ALL--night...make sure there is no mid-night peeing...lol...I am serious....I want to see a strong line tomorrow...OMG...I am so excited and happy for you...tentatively, of course, but nonetheless--grinning like a crazy woman!! You-ME- “pregnancy board buddies.” You first!! You asked about my protocol...it is Lupron..then GonalF 225/Menopur 75, but he has been lowering my GonalF--to 150, then to 75. Even more tonight--my Menopur he wants me to half. I'm not familiar with this protocol, but seems to be working! I guess it is giving some of the slower growing ones a chance to catch up. And, he said it should improve embryo quality. He is the expert!!

AFM: Stimming away and getting heavy ovaries!! I was confused by RE lowering my dose the past couple days, but clearly he knows what he is doing! Today my E2-3092 and my follies are:

Right side: 17,17,17,16,13,12,11,10,10
Left side: 17,15,13,12,12,11,10 +5<10

He lowered my doses again, and I go back in for SnS in the morning. Not too bad for an old lady, huh? Wish me luck! Trigger can't be too far away...I am thinking tomorrow, or Monday at the latest...I am getting sore and tired, but very happy and excited!!!

I had to laugh at your visual of you giving yourself shots while in the air...I cant tell you how many shots have been done while driving down the road...and how many potholes Bill would hit while doing so. lol

Ryann...I see in your siggy that you already know that you're expecting a boy and a girl!? How perfectly awesome is that?! Congrats!!

AFM: The witch is here! Thanks for all the dancing...she showed up this morning. I went to get my hair cut and colored this morning...and was waiting for my doc to call...and the freakin phone never rang...it went straight to voice mail and I missed his call!!! He left me a message that he would try again on Monday morning. Ugh!!!

It must be fate telling me to wait 1 month. Plus, I just got done researching some more stuff and found that it is definitely best to wait since I added all that estrogen at the end of my pregnancy and whacked out my period and everything else. So, okay...Leora (if you would change me a bit)...my next IVF cycle will begin approx March 22th. This date is based on my normal 25 day periods....however, with my miscarriages, I've gone anywhere from 19-31 days till my next AF (+/-6 days)...so we will see. Ugh, I am so impatient...

Tammy-I'm glad AF finally showed and that you've made the decision that's best for you! C'moooon end of March!!!! And yes, and my nuchal the doc said he could tell me pretty confidently. I know it may change, but it's fun to have that 80% that it's one of each! We are going for a 3d march 8 with our parents, so hopefully some reassurance there too!

What am I to expect with this cycle after a failed IVF? Will I ovulate in a timely manner? Is there anything I should expect? I go in Wednesday for FET consultation and to talk about why this IVF didn't work. (Personally, I am blaming it on my job and the fact that I did not get to rest enough following and had to lift and pull and tug the heavy boxes at work. I have to blame it on something other than myself. ) We were told not to have sex until three days after ET, and we waited four. I was not told to take it easy or have light duty at work. I am mystified why two excellent embryos couldn't hang on in there!

Tammy: Sure thing! First, I was on DHEA, COQ10 and Maca root before starting. Not sure if any of it had any effect or not. Also did acupuncture weekly during stim and plan to do with ET. And, am eating a scoop of high fat-dairy ice cream every night! (I definitely like that addition to my protocol )

Did a Lupron cycle..My other 3 cycles I had used Ganirelix instead so this was new for me..started BCP on 2/1 then 10 units of Lupron on 2/10. 2/14 stopped BCP and waited (seemed life forever) for AF to start on 2/17. On 2/18 dropped Lupron to 5 and started 225GonalF and 75 Menopur. (I really think Menopur+GonalF do some magic). Stimmed like that for 5 days. My E2 was 553 that day, so that night dropped to 150 GonalF+75 Menopur for 2 nights, then dropped GonalF to 75+75 Menopur and tonight I take 75 GonalF and only 1/2 of my Menopur dose (and throw other half away). I have never decreased my meds so much before. When I met with RE yesterday he explained that dropping would help increase embryo quality--which is of course what I need. Yesterday E2 was 2165 and today 3091. I forgot to ask my progesterone level. It also seems to be giving some of the smaller follies a chance to catch up. I am excited to see what my actually egg count/fert report is before I celebrate too much, but they can't be one of the Top 5 Clinics in the US for over 40 ladies for nothing! I think I will trigger either tomorrow night or Monday night for transfer on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Hope this gives you some information that might be helpful. Best of luck Tammy!!! I think giving your body a cycle to rest will work out well...although I understand that impatience thing too well! Take good care of yourself during this month, and end of March will be here before you know it.

AFM - I am still taking BCP since I am going to Bon Jovi on Tuesday and did not want AF. I figure I will take my last pill on Monday. No point staying on BCP for no reason. I still have to write an appeal letter, but I don't even know what to write! I was waiting to receive the denial in writing, but it has not come. According to my ins co, there is a phone number on the letter that my RE can call to discuss the case with a consultant to appeal. I have a weird ins! I told the ins girl at my clinic, but she said she did not receive it in writing either, and she would let RE know. He better call them! My nurse was not in last week so I spoke with the otherkne who is rude. She asked me if I planned to continue on my own without ins. I said no, so she just said I could stop the pill and conversation ended. They have made over $50k off me, they could be a little more considerate. I really don't have the money right now to spend $3,000 on a FET that probably won't work. If I knew for sure that it would work, then of course I would!

It drives me crazy when I have a typo from my using my phone and I can't get to end of post to fix it grr. I also still can't believe that my clinic billed $5,000 for a cancelled IVF, which took away my last IVF cycle. My ins allowed $744.00 and I have a $250.00 yearly deductible. So ins paid $494.00, and I owe $250.00. Umm I would have paid the $494.00 for them not to have screwed me out of another cycle. And there is no way that $250.00 is getting paid unless I get approved.

Margi and everyone who replied- thanks for the info on traveling. this makes me feel better. that's an interesting protocol you are on - start high and then go low. your doc must know what he is doing since that clinic gets such good results. Tomorrow, this crazy rain is finally going to stop and we are back to california sunshine. do you have any sightseeing plans for tomorrow - or you must be feeling pretty bloated right about now so maybe taking it easy is the best.

Tammy - glad your AF is finally here! and you'll get to talk to your doc on monday and decide when you want to do your cycle.

AFM, i broke down and sent my DH for a box of FRER. As soon as he returned, I POASed tonight and still 2 lines. Phew! that was a relief. But that FRER was weird - even the control line was very faint - had very little color on it. eventually the 2nd line showed up and it was about half the strength of the control line, but both lines looked like they could use a bit more die there. anyway - just hoping Monday will show a nice rise and he will probably want me back on Friday again for beta #3.

Crissylove - Looks like I'm due just 5 days after you! Let's hang out on the 'pregnant after treatment' board for the next long 9 months! I'm due Nov 8, you're Nov 3, right?

Margi- that's an awesome amount of follies! When do you think you'll trigger? (how do you 'halve' a Menopur? For me, the vials of powder were for a 75iu dose.... you mix the whole thing and draw up half? - just curious!)

Tammy- yay for AF getting here! Now..... where's next months? I totally understand your impatience.... I'm hoping the next month goes really fast for you and your doctor has some new and improved ideas for your next cycle.

hotgreentea (Sherry) - for me, since I don't ovulate on my own, I always start a pack of BCP when I get my BFN AF and that way I can control when my next period starts. No one knows why some cycles work and others don't. My first cycle, I stayed in bed for only 15 min after ET and I didn't rest at all - I got pregnant with twins. For my FETs, I stayed in bed for an hour after ETs and rested for days, and BFNs. There is really nothing at all that you did or didn't do to change the outcome of the cycle.

Lauren- I was writing that part about stimming in April when my PMA was in the toilet.... the BFP is definitely a welcome surprise and I will definitely be stalking you! Bon Jovi? AWESOME!

LYD - yay for two lines! You are also due 5 days before me.... hope to have a nice long 9 months together! Next beta tomorrow, right? Fingers crossed for a HUGE rise!
