Just wanted to pop in and check on everyone and let you know I was thinking of all you, unfortunetly I have the flu and I've been sick since last Tuesday and landed in ER on Thursday (so much for the flu shot). I'm getting better everyday but it's still lingering. I'm starting to think I want to rewind the first of the New Year and start over. It's been one thing after another for me :(

Congrats on the BFP Leora :) Can not wait for your beta.

Lyd can't wait to hear your second beta.

I'll try and catch up with personals over the next few days.

Rio- Good luck today! Fingers crossed =)

Margi- Happy trigger day! It's about to get fun =)

Lyd10-I know your beta will rise!

Wanabeamum- It ain't over 'til it's over . . . keep the faith . . . positive betas with bleeding happen all the time =)

Anton- I love your sparkly pics! Glad to hear you had a nice weekend =)

Leorira- That is SOOOOO a positive HPT! Congrats!

Lou: I had brown spotting pretty much my whole first trimester ... could also just be old blood getting forced out . . . MY RE never seemed very worried about it, nor by OB . . .

I forget who asked about acupuncture in LA for ET . . . I live in LA and my acupuncturist charges $90 per session and $400 the day of the transfer . . . plus, the clinic charges a $50 room fee . . . pricey, yes, but seems to be the going rate in LA and Beverly Hills . . .

AFM: Thanks to everyone for their well wishes for a successful transfer. We ended up transferring 4 embies . . . 1 8-cell and 3 4-cell . . . RE seemed really excited about the 8-cell one . . . I did a lot of google searches on 4 celled embies and they can implant too . . . now I'm on bedrest for another day or so . . . mom is in town to help with DDthank goodness! Guess now I'm officially in the 2WW . . .

Good evening everyone! :D ...here the time now is 20:00 :D

CjinNC- I hope you get well soon! Did you go to the doctor? you should go if you feel worse. about the blinkies...go to photobucket.com and you will find all the blinkies you need to cheer your up! :) Image

Rio- How did the test go? ...I know everything was perfect! I am just making converstation here... Image

nwquiz- :) just to make things clear...when our soccer team looses sex is the last thing my DH wants to do  but when the team wins... thats another story! :D

Lou- Don't worry honey :D spotting is very common during pregnancy. Everything is OK! u/s will just confirm that! Image

AFM- I am so excited girls!! :D My blood test results were perfect!!! :D :D my RE was very very pleased and told me now we are ready to start! Yeay!! ...I got period sign today! can you believe it! today of all days! so I told him and he said perfect timimg! lets make an u/s. So, he made me an u/s and told me that my ovaries are looking great!!! the plan is to start wednesday the protocol! He wrote me a prescription of Folistimon to take until Saturday 3x75g per day and Omnitrope until Sunday 0.25ml per day. The Omnitrope he said is to improve the quality of the eggs! I never heard of that! and I will have to take it from a specific hospital not from a pharmacy because I will have to order it from before if I go to a pharmacy and it costs a fortune and anyway its going to be cheaper getting it from the hospital. (has anyone of you had these meds before? if yes I would appreciate your feedback! this is the first time for me!) I have an appt already for Friday 4th March for u/s to check how I respond to the meds and he will advice me on how to proceed. he said that if everything goes well by the end of next week or maximum begining of the following week we are going to have ER! it all depends of course from the size of my follies. Yey!! I will know more on Friday after the u/s. :D RE also adviced us to freeze embryos and that there is a breakthrough in genetics about frozen embryos that his lab made and its going to be published this month. (I will post it once I ts out) Boy! I am I excited!!! Thank you God! :D I am so happy! I am taking each step as it comes and this step is awesome for me! :D Image

Baby dust to all of us!

Anton... you are ready to get started! How exciting!

I have a quick question.. I have never done full injectibles before - always started out with clomid first, then injectibles if I did them. Anyway, I am only CD5, have only done two nights of stims and I am already getting ovary pain. Not really painful, but I feel them! I usually get that much later. Is that normal for this early? Could I be over-stimming? I don't go in for next SnS until Thursday am.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I haven't checked in for a while. It seems like lots has happened! Keep up the good work and PMA everyone:)
Wife and I are waiting for the last blood test results today but we are not expecting anything at this point since our betas went from 55-->112-->67. We had a good weekend and are ready to move on. I think we are leaning towards keeping our 4 frosties and trying another fresh cycle. Is there any amount of time we should wait before starting another cycle to maximize our chances?

Well, results came in. As we thought, beta is down to 8. Wife is getting strong cramps so I'm guessing it's just her period now. Anything to be on the look out for to make sure nothing is wrong and it is just her period? She meets with thet doctor on Thursday and I cant be there with her which real,ly bums me out. I guess we just have to persevere and give it another shot...

Leora: Woohoo!!! I am so darn excited for you I could scream!!!! How excited is David? He does know about the sticks, doesn’t he?!Image
Image

Samantha: DO NOT GIVE UP....my goodness girl!! You are still a week away from beta, right? You are 12dpo...some women don’t get a BFP until 14 dpo or even later....please don’t give up...hang in there. We are all rooting for you!Image

Carol: So sorry you are sick...you don’t want to end up with bronchitis...I think you should go to doctor. Maybe get an antibiotic. Tell them what you are doing and that you need your health. Drink some chicken soup and rest yourself... If you haven’t done the full on stims before, they are different. You will feel your ovaries, because they are working harder than with clomid. How much are you taking? Unless a really high dose, I doubt you could be hyperstimming this early.Image

Nwquiz: No we were told to abstain from here on out so he has a good count on Wednesday...so no BDing for 2+ weeks now for sure. :-( you seem to be fairly calm for being in the 2ww, but I guess that is part of your "snowy" disposition. 8) 8)

Anton: Sounds like a fabulous weekend. (And, yes, I’d love to see an almond tree flower too!) Hoping that today’s appointment continues to be fabulous and you get awesome results and a protocol! Yea! I know that is an exciting time...right at the start of things. This is going to be YOUR cycle, my friend. I just read your second post!!! Yippeee!!! What fabulous news, and fabulous timing for AF...you are on your way....I don’t know anything about Omnitrope...so happy for you!!Image

Lyd: (Scroll back to my late night post---a Hollywood star I took a photo of....NWQuiz’s true identity revealed!!) Hoping for fabulous high results my friend...Image

Longtimer:Image

Kat: Sorry you are so terribly sick with the flu. That sounds miserable. Take care and take it easy.Image

Deftonesmo: That was me asking about the acupuncture...darn! Thanks for the information, though. Congratulations on ET!!! Rest up and..Image

HopethisWorksM: So very sorry. It is always hard. Comfort one another, hold each other tight through the loss. She should expect a fairly heavy “period” since it is really an early miscarriage. Take care.Image

AFM: All systems a go! Follies look good, don't yet know my E2 level. Will trigger tonight with only half the dose (anyone heard of that?) Also, they mentioned that they do a co-culture with the embryos? Anyone familiar with that either? They say it helps improves quality and pregnancy rate. They culture endometrium tissue and put in with the embryos...hm...anything that helps! I am getting bloated and really sore, but very excited! ER on Wednesday...he is wanting to push to 5 dt if we have enough--looks like we will. We will just have to see what quality looks like because I don't want to risk not having enough to transfer. At my age he is willing to be very liberal in # to transfer back--he said even 6 on day 5.

Margi.. wow, it sounds like things are coming along... I can't wait to hear how many are retrieved and transferred. How long after transfer do you need to stay in California? I am on 225iu of follistim a day. Hopefully I'm not pushing them too hard.

I am so excited about you triggering tonight!!! I can't wait to get you on the pregnant side with us :D So good luck with the trigger and ER/ET and as others have said drink lots and lots of Gatorade. Also I can't believe that the doc is willing to transfer 6...holy moly!! are you ok with that? I am so glad you got to see and enjoy at least some of Hollywood. My father is a professor in LA (USC) so I have visited often as a child and have always loved LA. Anyways just wanting to wish you lots of luck and send you tons of baby dust. Praying for you.

Samantha - I'm so ssorry you aren't seeing the BFP, but you really could just be too early. I know we all want to see it at 10dpo, but most people don't! Spotting can be fine too. Try waiting until at least 14dpo - and maybe call your clinic and ask for an earlier beta. They may say 'no', but it can't hurt to ask!

Anton - your weekend sounds awesome! So jealous! I actually want to come visit Cyprus someday, especially since we are so close! On a clear day, you can see Cyprus from some parts of Tel Aviv! Too bad your team lost. I'm originally American, and I don't understand soccer at all! (not that I ever understood American Football either.... but GO STEELERS!) I'm soooo glad your blood test went well! Have fun stimming!

Ryann - it's not that I don't want you to be happily pregnant, it's just the reminder of how far along I could be to. I never want anyone to go through what I've been through, so seeing someone who has their IVF work on the first time (well... kinda!) is fantastic! I'm so so so so happy for you, but it always stings (you understand, right?). I definitely want to keep seeing that ticker slide across --- but now only 11 weeks ahead of me! I'll catch up soon, right?

nwquiz - so, Snow White huh? Cool! I didn't know you were an Oscar winner! I've seen all your films! :D Too bad the pee sticks were out - but 32 miles is a long way to go for more. Hopefully your closest Walmart will have them in stock for you to start peeing in a few days!

Lou - good luck on the u/s! I hope your little bean is happy and healthy and waving at his/her mommy!

LYD - enjoy your decaf! I went off caffiene when we started TTC - a whole 3 years ago! Even a tiny bit gets me going like ntohing else! I'm a huge hot cocoa drinker, because I miss having the hot drink in the morning. Still waiting on pins and needles for your beta number. I hope it comes soon. Waiting is awful! --- also, the joke with nwquiz is that she doesn't want to share a photo or a real name (which is fine!) - so we started a joke that she is really a famous celebrity (like J.Lo or someone who wants to keep their infertility secret). Tammy (I think!) asked Margi to take a pic from the Walk of Fame of who she thought nwquiz really is! So Margi's guess is Snow White!

Kat - oh poor honey! Being sick on top of all the other sh*t! Sheesh. You can't catch a break, huh? Hopefully you will feel much much better and go into your new cycle for your BFP. I also had a flu shot AND got the flu this year. What a waste!

deftonesmo - congrats on transfer! woohoooo! Did you get any to freeze? when is your beta?

HopethisworksM - oh, I'm so sorry. I've never had a chemical pregnancy, but it sucks so much. All that hope and it's just gone too soon.

longtimeIVF - I also always agonize over every twings. DH thinks I'm crazy and tells me that it's just my digestion. I've never felt anything different in BFP and BFN cycles. One more week! yay!

Margi - of course I told David! I called him at his boy's night out on Saturday night when I got my first positive. He was so happy. He's already told his parents and brother! Everyone is so thrilled for us. David is talking to the baby everytime I come into the room. It's cute, but it could get annoying in a few months! :D ----- hurray for so many follies!

Anna - thanks!

Tiger - everything okay? We haven't heard from you since your IUI last week. I hope everything is going well with you.

Kynlee & Katie - I know y'all are eagerly awaiting March for your cycles -- well - it's 1am here - so HAPPY MARCH! :D

AFM - nothing new, which is good at this point! I'll pee again tomorrow. I can't believe it's March. February was a loooong month. Hopefully there'll be a ton of sunshine tomorrow!

I went with a friend to a clothing flea market today (just for fun). She is pregnant with her fourth and we took along #3 as well (who was due the day before my twins and is now 10 months old). Anyway..... I found maternity pants for about $6 each! Maternity clothes here are SUPER expensive (like basic jeans with a stretchy waist are $75) - so I bought two pairs. She kinda looked at me funny - and I told her it was too good a price to pass up when I'm hoping to get pregnant again eventually! I also found a really cute sleeper with a penguin on it for about $2 - so I bought that too. I think she is suspicious - but that's fine! I'm probably getting a head of myself with these purchases, but they were so cheap and this is a great way to practice my PMA, right?

Oh my god girls - i just lost a long post. urgghhh - hate it. i know i should type it in Word first. ok here goes the appreviated version:

Sweetpea - sorry about the flu! ER - that sounds bad!

Longtimer - are you glad to be back at work? i was - anything to keep my mind from obssessing.

Anton - i am glad you have an exciting plan forward. sorry - i am not familiar with these meds. looks like countires use different brands.

Carol - my clinic didnt see me until day 5 either. bu t i am slow and they knew that about me from 1st time, when they saw me on day 3. if you can why not ask to be seen tomorrow - if it is not too far away. this way no guessing.

HTWM - so sorry yyou had to go through chemical. but it sounds like you guys are recharging yourselves for another go at it! that's how it goes here - its a numbers game unfortunatley.

Deftonesmo - congrats on teh transfer! 4 - that should make for good implantation chances!

Margie your clinic sounds like they know what they are doing. they have all kinds of secret sauces there - co-culture - wow! as for triggering with half the doze - i did that both times - to avoid ohss supposedly.

Leora - thanks for explaning the joke to me! i get it now. And sounds like you had a fun day shopping! good for you!

Rio - congrats!!!!!! super exciting and relief!

AFM, drum roll please. sort of :) my beta #2 came back at 54. interesting.... the doc acted like everything was normal. he wants to see me in a week for another beta and at that point he said he will either schedule an u/s or another beta. i asked him isnt 54 kind of low for 17-18dpo? he said the rise was good. i decided not to dig, because normally my doc is super cautious and doesnt give false hope. so if he says this is still in teh normal range - i'll go with it, until proven otherwise. i went to the beta calculator site and this is a beta doubling time of 67 hours. the normal range is 31-72 hours. so 67 is definitely on the longer side of normal. but who knows! i am just going to sit tight for one more week and hope for the best!
i wonder if the embryo is implanted on my c-section scar and is having a hard time sending hcg signals. this is my own crazy theory. i have nothing to back it up.
