November 2011 babies

Post by nancy1 »

Hi ladies,

I would like to invite mommies who have a November 2011 due date to join me so that we can share our journeys together.

I was blessed with a beautiful baby boy on November 2009 with a fresh cycle. In September 2010, my husband and I decided to give our little guy a companion. We did a FET cycle and it failed. We did another cycle this month with our last 2 embryos and I were overjoyed when I got the call for a BFP this past Sunday.

Having miscarried one of my twins on my Fresh cycle and having recently hit 41 with no more embies, the pressure is of course on however I decided to take it one day at a time and accept whatever lies ahead always thanking God that I have already been blessed with a miracle.

I wish everyone who post on this board the best of luck and look forward to sharing our experiences together.
This message board was a blessing with my last pregnancy and I still keep in touch with one of the moms here.

Have a wonderful week.

Congrats on your pregnancy! There's quite an active expecting board that we formed, combining the summer / fall / winter groups. We found we were all posting all over the place and trying to keep up on multiple threads was a bit much. Please join us there??

Hi ladies,

sounds good. I'll join the 2011 thread. I'll also keep this one for those who want to share their experiences (tests, amnio, etc) at the same time we'll all be going through it.
Take care and good luck to you both.

Hi Charr,

it seems like my PM never posted so here it goes again.
My son is doing really well, however we were really stressed a few weeks ago when his ped had some concerns about him not walking yet, only saying 3 words and favoring still smashed foods.
She wanted us to call the regional center for an eval to see if he possibly has signs of autism.
You can imagine how devastated we were. After doing much personal research and getting the opinion of another ped who evaluated him for 50 minutes our minds were more at ease:
indeed, he is very sociable, smiles and makes very good eye contact with people. He loves to engage with kids of his age, etc, none of which are consistent with autism.
He might be indeed delyaed in speech as he only says 3 words. As for the walking, he took his first steps 3 days after seeing the peds.
I did however call the regional center. He already had one eval and will have another one on Monday. The first eval found him to be very personable and did not suspect any autism as he went to to play with the case worker.
This visit to the peds took place 2 days before the transfer and one day before my dad had major surgery... So you can imagine the stresss level.
Anyhow, we were overjoyed with the results of the FET. This will be our last attempt regardless of the outcome as I am not getting any younger at 41!
Is your son still doing PT. Tell me how he's doing in terms of his milestones, etc...
Are you guys thinking about pre-schools?
Keep me posted and thanks for "listening"

Nancy,

You're right, I didn't get your PM but I did receive the test one you sent. You sure have been going through a stressful time. I'm so sorry. All children develop so differently and your son will talk when he's ready, just as with his walking. Sounds like you got a good second opinion. Isn't it so cute to watch him walk!! How are you feeling so far with this pregnancy? I'll write more when I have time, but in the meantime, take care of yourself and try to stay relaxed.

Hi Nancy and Charr - I can't believe it! I was on your thread the last pregnancy - back then my username was trying in la!

My daughter was born 11/3/09 and I just got a BFP for an 11/1/11 due date!

We got pregnanct on our first IVF (after trying an IUI). We had a scare because the BETA didn't double, but we had an ultrasound Friday and all looks good (the doctor suspects it was a twin pregnancy that reduced to a singleton)...we go to the perinatologist Friday.

Nancy, I willl be thinking of you and sending good thoughts...there is so much pressure on you from all sides, and I really hope it sticks!

My daughter is 16 months and not walking either. We have had her in PT and OT for about 8 months as she has low muscle tone and had torticolus, but she is doing great. Her verbal skills are off the charts, which is fun...but parenting is stressful!

The big pregnancy board overwhelmed me. I for one am thrilled to have a November board so we are going through the same things at the same time, so I will be posting here as long as there are others who want to join!

Hugs!

Hi ladies,

Charr: that u so much for your encouragements and well wishes! It really means a lot!
Tell me a little bit about your munchkin. Last time you told me he was walking really well and eating chunky foods also.
How is his torticollis? Is he still on PT and did the new treatment help correct the minor deviation he still had?

Isn't it interesting that all 3 of us, Charr Trying and Myself had babies with torticollis? It is much more common than I thought.

Trying: Were you by any chance Excited in LA in the November thread? COngrats on your BFP!!!! :-) My due date is around Nov 6, so close to yours!
Did your daughter need to have a helmet also like my son and CHarr's?
Didi they recommend PT and OT specifically for the walking?
I agree with you; parenting is a challenge but it truly is the most rewarding thing in the world! When I come home from a hard day's work, hugging my peanut makes everything better.

Are you ladies thinking about pre-school at all and are you considering enrolling your babies at 2 or 3? i am pretty torn about the idea. I was thinking maybe enrolling him for 2-3 days the first year, then we'll see. I want him to interact with other kids his age. He loves being around them and I think it would him a lot of good.

I am looking forward to keeping in touch with the both of you.
Take care,
NAncy

Nancy - Yes, you are right! I was excited...forgot I started to post when I was pregnant...can I blame it on pregnancy brain?

The drs. recommended PT and OT for the torticolus...she was about 8 months when we started, so walking was not an issue. We were in PT 2x per week and OT once a week...now down to PT 1x per week and OT 1x per month...it has been a long road. I can't believe we all have babyies with torticolus! They think hers was because she was breach the whole pregnancy and never turned...she ran out of room to grow, so her neck was in that position from the womb and needed a boost to correct!

Have been thinking pre-schools. Kind of have to in LA. I am pretty sure I will send her to the temple pre-school...but she can't start until she is 3. I have her a bunch of classes (mommy and me, music, grandma and me), so we will keep that up until she starts in 2012! I would start her in the fall if I could - she is really social like yours and I agree that being with other kids is so important.

So glad to be reconnected - hugs!

Hi ladies,

Trying: I am going to start PT for him in the next week probably for his walking. Interestingly, a therapist who evaluated him yesterday said that kids with torticollis usually had more motor development delays. That could explain why they are both not walking completely independently yet. What do they do in OT, Im curious?
Are you having any pregnancy symptoms yet? ALl I can say is that I'm swollen like a cow and my boobs are soooooooooore!!!
Also, I am getting a bit noseous with people wearing perfumes but no major morning sickness or anything. I am due to have my first ultrasound on Monday! I am a bit nervous of course.

Charr: I know however your baby walked pretty early on, right?

Take care,
Nancy

Good luck with PT. It makes a difference for them...I heard the same thing about delays for kids with torticolus.

OT focused more on balance and fine motor skills...also making sure her delays were not sensory (they are not!)

My boobs are huge and sore; I wake up 10 times a night to pee (ok, not 10, but at least 3!); I am hungry at all hours and EXHAUSTED. Symptoms are good!

Good luck with the US. I had one last week and one Friday - when we hope to have a heartbeat!

Fingers crossed!

Hugs!

Hi,

Trying: I know what you mean by being hungry all the time. I have been grazing all day long, luckily on healthy stuff. I can't put on too much weight on this pregnancy since I already have back issues...
As for the boobs, I think soon I'll start to wear my old nursing bras
Good luck on your ultrasound! And keep me posted!

Trying - Congratulations on your pregnancy! It's good to hear from you again. It's so interesting that all of our babies had torticollis. Our son was stuck in a position with his head wedged off to one side for the last couple of months because he, too, just ran out of room in the womb so that's what caused his.

Nancy - He was discharged from PT just this week and the therapist and I feel like he's looking much better. I think walking has helped with it a lot. He started walking at 14 1/2 months and is now picking up the pace and getting closer to running. He is talking a lot now and tries to repeat everything he hears. Some of his favorite words to say right now are: tractor, accident, more, yeah, ok mommy, ride, bite, papa (for Grandpa), night night daddy... He also knows how to meow like a kitty and nay for a horse. I have started to look into preschools but he has to be age 3 by Sept. 15 of the year he starts which means he'll be closer to 4 before he can go which I'm not thrilled with as I'd like him to begin much sooner. Has your little boy shown interest in finger foods yet? Let us know how the ultrasound goes!
