I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm really hoping next cycle is your cycle. It stinks that it often takes more than once to get a baby. I'm cautiously optimistic right now about my pregnancy but I've already had 1 loss and this was my 6th embryo transfer. I've been doing IVF pretty much non-stop since 9/09. But if this continues to go well and I get my baby, it will all be worth it. You will get yours too. Good luck.

Hi Everyone. Its great hearing so many wonderful stories. Can anyone help me? 40 years old, first pregnancy so was vv happy till yesterday. I had my LMP on 14 Jan, Embryo transfer on 6 Feb (fertilised on 3 February) Then had a positive pregnancy test on 21 Feb and was over the moon. Not sure if I would be 8 weeks pregnant running from first day of LMP or 5 weeks from date of embryo transfer anyway, was vvvvvvv happy but shortlived - went for a scan yesterday at the IVF clinic and was told they could only see the pregnancy sac no fetal pole, heartbeat, nothing. Can anyone give me any hope? Got to go again next week for another scan.....but they said not looking good :(

Sometimes what happens is a blighted ovum. A sac forms but a baby never develops. You would be 8 Weeks counting from LMP (or sometimes in ivf, they use 2 wks prior to ER). I'm sorry that I can't offer you a ton of hope here. At 8 wks there really should be a fetal pole and cardiac activity. I wish you do get good news but I think you should prepare yourself for another cycle. so sorry!
