Hi crissylove - I'm going through OHSS right now too. My ER was on 2/15 and I had mild OHSS afterward but went ahead with a one embryo transfer. This past Friday 2/25, I started to develop severe OHSS symptoms. I couldn't breathe, lie down, my belly was going to explode, etc. The doctor drained me yesterday transvaginally and got 3 liters of fluid. I felt immediate relief. I was told to rest today and have been feeling a little sore, but sooo much better. At least I can breathe. I'm really nervous about it coming back, though. I've heard some horror stories. But I recommend the draining if it gets really bad for you. The transvaginal procedure really was pretty simple. Worst part was getting the IV.crissylove wrote:Hi Guys!!
I'm hopping on over from the FEB board. I hope you guys will have me. Rio plz add me in. Got my official BFP a week ago today. My HEDD is Nov 3. Yeah Me!! Contrary to how upbeat that just sounded I'm in the most agonizing pain of my life. Even though my ER was 2wks ago I'm just now coming down with OHSS. It's excruciating. I spent all night in the Emer Rm.
Anyone else come down with OHSS after BFP? If so, how long did it last?
Can anything ever come easy? BFP has it's price. Dr. says OHSS is feeding off of more HCG production.
Welcome Chrissy! I'm so sorry you're dealing with OHSS.... I didn't have OHSS although was considered a high risk with 33 eggs retrieved. I was told to drink tons of salty liquids like V8 and Gatorade.... I hope you feel better - it IS worth your beautiful baby... take it easy and get to know everyone - we're a great group!crissylove wrote:Hi Guys!!

Welcome Nancy and huge congrats on your BFP!! I'm inspired by you having two! I'm going to be 40 in September and we have five frosties that we want to put in about six months after this one is born. I can understand how exhausted you are - I was a mess for the first 11 weeks or so. I hope you feel better soon! Again, congrats and welcome to the board.nancy1 wrote:Hi Ladies,
I started a November 2011 thread, but then I was informed by 2 of you of the existence of this board. So here I am!
Got my BFP on Sunday. It was my second FET attempt. I have a beautiful son from my 1st fresh cycle.
The 1st time I had developed OHSS so I was swollen like a cow from day 1. This time no such issue but I feel exhausted. When the nurses told me about the BFP I couldn't believe it since other than my humangous boobs and some mild cramping which I had with my previous BFN, I had no other symptoms. Of course I was overjoyed.
I just hope for the best. In my last pregnancy I miscarried one of the twins and the memory of it is still very vivid.
Being 41 and having a 15month old to run after doesn't make matters any easier.
Anyhow, looking forward to sharing this journey with you guys.
Nancy
