AFM- I went to my RE this afernoon and the nurse gave me my shots, 3x75 Fostimon and 0.25 Omnitrope. He subscribe me meds until Tuesday and added another one, that I will start probably on Wednesday. its called Orgalutran (GnRH) (I think is the same as the garnilex the one you have in the states...) The plan is to continue the Omnitrope until Monday, and the Fostimom until Tuesday. I will then have an u/s on Wednesday 3.9.11 and we shall see how big are my follies and we take it from there. I will also go again on Tuesday morning for blood test to check my LH level. In general, my RE told me that usualy it takes 12-15 days from day 1 of stims to ER. It all depends on the growth of follies. If I make a 12 day then my ER is going to be Monday 14th March. We shall see... I am so excited! Got my first shot today!

Hi Ladies,

First of all, I’m so sorry for being away from the board. I cannot tell you how much it means to me, Leora, Margi, Lou, anton for checking in on me. We had our ski trip to Michigan and then this week has been crazy. It’s taken me 2 full days to catch up on 15 pages! I love it!

So, I really need all of your support. This has been the worst week of my life.

So, as you all know, I had my SnS last Thursday. It was terrible. On Tuesday I had 4 good looking follicles at 12’s and 14’s. Lining was a 10…all looked amazing. Then, on Thursday, my follicles were 10’s and 12’s…so they went backwards! Has anyone ever seen follicles go backwards…WTF. To top it off, I’ve been telling all of you that I feel like I am a number at my clinic and I’ve been thinking about switching. So, literally, I’m in shock during this appointment and I ask, did I ovulate? What’s going on…the nurse says, well, I think you have ovulated and the best advice I can give you is to have intercourse….(steam coming out of my ears) I looked at her and said “My husband doesn’t have any sperm!) She says, “oh that’s right you’re using donor sperm. So, to support my case further, I feel like these nurses walk into the room and no one has a keen sense of my case. How insensitive…who says to a woman to have intercourse when this has been the worst year of her life and they had to find out he didn’t have any sperm…seriously. So, I respectfully laid into the nurse and said, you know, I’m just frustrated, every time I come here I see a different nurse and I feel like no one is truly interested in following my journey through this clinic. She said, every nurse is trained the same…blah blah blah…I had to bite my lip to say, well, you obviously didn’t know my chart very well when you walked in here or you wouldn’t have suggested having intercourse! Was that in the training!

So, they wanted me to come back on Sunday and the hell if this terrible cycle was going to stop me from going on the ski trip. I went back to have another SnS on Tuesday and same, follicles were even smaller, only 2 at a 10. So, I asked to speak with my RE. She called on Tuesday afternoon and went directly into the IVF route. We have a WTF meeting with her tomorrow at 8:15 and I feel like she is going to be pushing IVF.

It’s not that I am against IVF, I just want answers as to what happened this cycle. I’ve done 4 IUI cycles and NEVER had a problem with follicles….do you guys think I’m broken now? Do you think the Estriodiol could have affected the follicles growing?

I think we are going to tell her that we would like to do one more round of IUI and then consider going to IVF. Trust me, I’d like nothing better to get the show on the road, but I’m not going to spend $12,000 on IVF if maybe in one or 2 more IUI cycles, we could have success.

What do you guys think? I’m so lost…so confused…

Tiger I'm so sorry to hear how insensitive your nurse at the clinic treated you. You deserve so much better, and yes bed-side manners absolutely is part of the training! I'm like you, I keep thinking let's try an IUI with Follistim, since we spent over 12,000 last year in medical bills. (and btw let's itemize the expense for tax purposes.)
Laproscopic surgery in the morning and I'm so light-headed that I'm going to faint. Hopefully, can catch up with more personals next week. Sunshine1576

Margi – Woohoo! 10 fertilized is great! I started with 17 and ended up with only 8 fertilizing so 10 is AWESOME!!! Looks like you are bringing home your California baby…..

Nwquiz – Just a thought but in our hyper sensitive states sometimes we (or at least I) forget that other people have lives and that things can happen in their lives too….so maybe she just has some things going on in her life that she is hesitant to talk about…..could you just ask if something is bothering her & tell her she is your BFF and she can tell you anything even if it hurts cause her friendship is worth so much to you?? I don’t know just a thought….

Leorira – Step away from Dr. Google! Every time I have been pregnant (5 times total in last 2 years) my numbers have always been over 500 for first BETA so I am pretty sure that means bunk and you are just fine & right were you need to be! So be happy girl you are pregnant…..just enjoy it girl!!!!

CJinNC/Carol – Grow Follies Grow! That is awesome that they are so much better than they were last cycle! WAY TO GO!!!!

WaitingKay – With all my BFP’s I had absolutely no symptoms except those that were in my mind only! So sit back relax & enjoy being pregnant!

Sweetpea/Kat – Ok Brackeen’s gearing up to AF dance again…….we are mad dancers in this house…..so prepare for beatch to make her presence known!

Anton – I am happy you are starting stims so we can be 2ww buddies together, you crack me up I love how lackadaisical you talk about all the shots I am really enjoying this FET cycle with no injectibles – I literally worked myself into a total frenzy with every shot that my husband gave me so you can imagine what it was like to live in my house for that time…I am terrified of needles! I love acupuncture though! Go Figure!

Tammy – Are you OK? Take all the time you need but just let us know you are OK quick?

Kynlee – Thanks & I made the call this morning……just waiting to hear back from them to double check I know a FET cycle is far different than a fresh & they don’t monitor as much but I think it is a bit long to just leave me hanging….. Also I have a vial of lupron left over, it has some in it not much but how much are you taking? I could send it to you if you want to have some extra just in case you have pharmacy issues again…..just PM me your address if you want it……

Tiger – I was just about to say where are you? I think number one, you need to consider moving clinics, the only thing that makes this bearable for me is that my clinic is awesome, they know details about me, where I live, my daughters name, what my interests are etc… and every appt they all say hi ask how Em is doing how was the drive (l live about an hour from clinic down fairly treacherous canyon) that always comforts me. Secondly I think all the questions need to be asked to your RE like you mentioned, do you need to take a break have one or two natural cycles to sorta re-set the body, is it the estrogen or something else. When I first went to my clinic there was no pushing he just laid it all out and gave me percentages with each option so we made our choice that way……seems like she should do the same for you, you after all are only 27……keep your chin up be strong, write your questions down & make sure you get all your questions answered to your satisfaction and then make a educated decision based off of that. Good luck & we are all here if you need any help…..

Lyd10 – Must have been in the stars last night DD had a rough night too, crying for no reason, could not reason with her, she just wanted to snuggle & get rubbed by us, but even then whimpered and was weepy. That is an amazingly helpless feeling to know something is wrong with your poor little peanut & not be able to fix it…..almost brought me to tears trying to consol her and not being able too….was very happy when bedtime came & she fell asleep & got up this morning as her happy self.

Margi - operation fertilization a huge success! 10 is amazing, you sure showing off around here aren't you seriously you are kicking butt and taking numbers my friend. Hoping for 10 perfect embryos so you can pick and chose what you want to do and have frosties too!

Kynlee - I did not take it as you were not happy for your friends at all. I just know it hurts when it is so easy for other people, I had one friend tell me how hard it was on her because she wasn't quite ready yet and it was too easy to get pregnant so that hurt me a little because of all the emotional, financial and physical cost of IVF. I completely understand where you are coming from. Huge hugs and you will be there showing off your pregnancy soon!

Amanda1979 - wow a free cycle, you just won the IVF lottery! Congrats girl! Good luck and healing thoughts for your mom!

Anton - AF is finally here wooohooooooo What are your names? Glad you got to see baby girl, hopefully she will bring everyone here tons of baby dust so we can all be together on the pregnant board!!! Seeing the pic of you and DH always make me smile, I love the pic. Some pics just show you so much love and happiness! If your ER is on the 14th you might have a beta on my birthday and give me your BFP as a gift? 26th!

CJ - thank you - you are so kind I hope you feel all better soon, take it easy and get better a couple of weeds can wait Ihad hot flashes on folistim and felt a little crazy, some REs go ahead with one or two follicles. Awesome SNS results and glad your PMA is back!!!

kbillsy - I had bleeding while on stimms, it happens and it should not be a problem - good luck on Friday! we had male factor too, do you have DH on vitamins or Coq10? it upped my DHs counts a bit.

longtimer - it is ok not to POAS even though we are a group of pushers. Keep your PMA, and a negative HPT could happen with a positive beta, so maybe stay away from the sticks and wait for beta? Sending you tons of baby dust!

katieb - love your ticker!!! I am glad you love being a girl mommy, having a boy is a blast and I am sure you will be a great boy mommy! You cracked me up with "I want to see your face between my legs!" It will work!!! And you can be exhausted running after a toddler and being pregnant and you thought the first pregnancy was tiring!!!! But we are so happy! And never go to that manicurist again WTF! I would ask for an earlier SNS.

Tiger Welcome back, yeah nurse intercourse with whom? Geesh... I would be pissed off too. Of course you want answers, no you are not broken at all but maybe your clinic is? Maybe time for a second opinion? I would go to a new clinic and see what they would do different on your IUIs. You got tested for everything and you are fine right? Maybe it is not you, IT IS THEM!

OMG while I'm typing my kitten has taken the kitchen sink drain stopper (the stainless steel ones') and somehow got it out of the sink and has it on the floor. This kitten is into everything. He steals my elastic bands too and plays hockey with them around the house. Geesh I forgot how curious kittens are.
