Lou- the chinese gender predictor says girl for me. I'm not sure what they mean by "conception"...is that ER date? Cause I was 39 at ER and 40 at ET. But both ages say girl. I'll find out for sure on Monday!!!!

Mellow & Steph- So glad to hear the BH calmed down. Those are darn scary. They can give you some kind of tocolytic to take at home if they keep coming back.

Ryan- congrats on your b/g twins! The best of both worlds! :) The u/s pics are so cute.

Klinger- Sorry to hear about your eczema. And I think you are very brave to do the clothe diaper thing! I hope it works well for you and baby! Have you had any growing pains? Tightening? I'm thinking my TAC is starting to do it's job!

Anna- Love your pic! You both look great!

Justlikehannah- Love your pic of baby Judah. That is a unique shot!!!

I've been have growth discomfort that causes strong tightening in my lower public bone area sometimes. Nothing regular or close togther. Saturday my belly at the top was tight almost all day. I was so worried. Then I noticed Sunday that I had popped out big time. So it was definitely growth spurt. So excited for anatomy scan on Monday!

This thread sure does move fast! Seems like I've missed out on a lot. I have to rush and do office hours for the apt complex we live in (my BIL is the manager.. I cover for him every Wednesday), so I'll have to make this quick and from memory.

LostGirl - I am SO SO sorry to hear about your blighted ovum. It is so unfair to get your hopes so high just for them to get crushed on the day of the first u/s. My deepest sympathies go out to you. Big hugs.

Leora - looking forward to hearing about your U/S results tomorrow (or late at night tonight!)

JustLikeHannah - what an awesome picture of your baby playing with his tongue! how fun!

Ryann - you've got the real package right there! That's awesome, girl. SO happy for you! Great pics of your lil' ones.

Rio - Sending you some healthy baby prayers for your lil' girl!

Lou - the link that you posted said a girl for me.. but when I used another link a while back, it predicted a boy. The link I used was taking into account the age that I currently am with my due date. Confused about the Chinese Lunar Calendar and the age and due date this link picked for me.. I think it said I was 31 :? How did your OB appt go? I was supposed to have my first OB appt today, but I rescheduled it for next Tuesday. I'll be 8w4d by then, and hopefully will be able to see more than a blob of a baby by that time :)

WaitingKay - congrats!! & welcome! :)

AFM - I think Rio and Lou asked me about my connection to India.. yes, I was born there. I came to the states when I was 9, so have lived majority of my life here. I haven't been back ever since, but hope to visit sometime soon. DH is a bit skeptical about visiting my homeland, thinking everything is a hell hole and we're going to get sick. Sigh.. small minds, I say. There is so much more to India than what is normally shown on TV. Baby-wise - I hope he/she is growing strong in there. My nausea is hitting me really hard this week. I have yet to throw up (thank God), but the retching is no fun either. At least that gives me the PMA that everything is okay in there, so I'm not complaining.

Sorry for those I have missed. I haven't read through everything yet, just skimmed, so I apologize. Happy hump day, ladies!

I just did the gender prediciton thing. When i put in the conception date...it says girl. If I put in the due date....it says boy.

Sonya, how long did it take after your blighted ovums to miscarry or to get AF? I've been waiting but nothing. I'm scared to take their drugs to make it happen. Silly me I keep thinking what if they got it wrong. I'd rather it just happens naturally.
Hey there.... a blighted ovum is when the embryo dies early, but the body keeps producing the hormones required for pregnancy, including HSG. Nothing ever develops, the embryo is naturally absorbed into the body.

My first blighted ovum needed meds to get rid of the placenta and lining, I waited about two weeks and then took the meds. The last one seemed to come on it's own pretty soon after the ultrasound.

Signs of blighted ovum are hard... usually low and slow doubling betas are the best indicator. I 'felt' pregnant with the second one and had symptoms - but it may have been in my mind.... and of course, there *were* still hormones going through my body.

There is some good news.... the egg fertilized... it implanted... and it began to grow...those are all good signs.

Thanks Sonya
What was misleading was my more than doubling betas. First time 71, four days later 517, two days later 1190. SO hardly barely doubling... but ultrasound revealed the truth, as it were. Lostgirl

busy day - so I'll post more later --- but I know y'all are dying to hear from me.

u/s this morning. Still too early for a heartbeat, but everything was awesome - times two! That's right --- twins!

Two gestational sacs, each measuring 5w2d and each had a yolk sac. Hopefully, we'll see two heartbeats next week.

Having twins again scares the sh*t out of me, but what can I do. I told David that if I got pregnant with twins and totally regretted transferred 2 embryos, I should go back and read my forum posts/emails from 5-6 weeks ago - how desperate and sad we were. Transferring 2 was really the best option. Hopefully, these two will stay cooking a looooong time - but I guess I'll have to give up on my idea of a 11/11/11 birthday (I am due Nov 8 - but twins will come mid-October at the latest --- my personal goal is to go to September at 30 wks)

Leorira congrats!!!

You guys are so lucky! Twins are great! We so wished for twins but since our beta doubles slower than every 48 hours, RE told me yesterday that although we started off with a high number (nearly 300) we were now more likely looking at one and a half babies...:(
I will only know for sure everything is alright in two weeks time, our first U/S. Scheduled a little late - 6 and and a half weeks pregnant by then, and feels like ages to wait. We didn't even tell anybody we are pregnant yet. Do you happen to know how often do women have real bloated bellies at my stage? (4 weeks 5 days). I read this can be attributed to the progesterone suppositories, but was wondering if I was the only one to feel it SO severely - it is as bloated as when I over stimulated.

Again congrats, so happy for you, so relating to the line separating how we felt before we knew.

Leora - WOO-HOO!!! So happy for you! Congratulations on your twins and hoping for a happy, healthy, & uneventful pregnancy for you!

Waitingkay - You really can't by betas to tell you how many babies are in there. People like to guess based on the beta # or how quickly they double but betas can be all over the place. The only thing that will truly tell you is your u/s so I wouldn't pay much mind to the doctor telling you it looks like one and a half babies...that's an odd thing to tell you for sure!

Karen - I get a couple of braxton hicks every day so I get that tightening feeling when those hit. And every once in awhile I feel a pinching type of feeling (that's the best way I can describe it) down where my TAC would be. I take that as a queue to get off of my feet for a little while and it does go away (it's probably round ligament pain anyways.) Last appt my cervix was looking awesome so the TAC is doing it's job so far. And Dr D is pretty confident of it, I'm like a normal pregnant woman going for my appts every 4 weeks. :D

Karin - Great to hear from you and wow, you've got a lot going on around there!!

Ryann - Love the pics of your little ones!!

Hi all and thanks Klinger13!!!

It IS an odd thing to say, right? And this RE kept all along our procedures the same tone of cynicism..but I'm all that thankful because if it wasn't for him we wouldn't go and try IMSi. And it was the one technology that resolved our severe male infertility problem, 0% normal sperm head morphology. We are so overjoyed now.

Leora: I am so thrilled for you!

Lou: I tried with both conception and due dates and both said boy. Unless many u/s are wrong or a late penis pops up, I should be having a girl. And if that happpens he will be wearing a lot of pink!

Lostgirl: I am so sorry

Klinger: You poor itchy girl. I am trying cloth diapers as well. I have been buying a few of different brands and styles. There are so many options and different opinions. I also have a pack of disposables.

Anna: You and your sis are adorable!

Ryann: Awesome pics of the twins.

To all the BH ladies, especially twin mommas. Please take it easy and rest up. You do not want to be placed on complete bedrest. It sucks. And I was fine at 32w6d and then at 34w2d was 3-4 cm dilated. Luckily for me I was so far along which means only 3 weeks of bedrest for me. I am about to go crazy and it is 2 weeks today.

AFM: At 36w2d. Trying to keep my sanity. Starting to get anxious. I still need to get some things as I was suprised by early labor. Baby stuff is mostly taken care of (although we had to order the mattress when I was in the hospital as we still deciding between a foam and spring mattress, but it is set up now) except for some bigger things that can wait like the stroller and the pack and play. And I will be having a shower after the baby is here. What I really need is momma stuff (nursing pads, lanolin, nursing bras)..I was planning on going shopping the weekend I was put in the hospital. Debating between sending DH to the store with a list versus having him drop me off at the door this weekend to get it myself. My MFM said he would take me off bedrest at 37 weeks which is the 15th, so I would only be a few days early.

OK, so the link I posted for gender prediction wasn't a good one... the conception date really messed it all up! I talked to a Chinese woman I work with who swears by this method as being at least 90% correct and she told me not to use conception date and that time zone matters. She directed me to this link instead and said it's the only one that actually uses the lunar calendar and time zones correctly. I did it and it still said "girl" for me. We shall see!

http://www.chinesefortunecalendar.com/PredictSex.htm

Conception date would be ER date (i.e. date of fertilization). If you did a FET then subtract 5 days for blast transfer from ET date and use that. If your results change from what I have below, please post and I'll update. I don't buy into this at all, other than for fun but still want to see if it's over 50%! I also want to show the Chinese lady I work with at the end and see what she says.
