GHOST...Kruger morphology????

Post by sthomson »

Hi! If ghost or anyone has some insight into this topic, I would love to hear it. My DH was diagnosed with low sperm morphology, motility, and low testosterone. We conceived our DD on our 3rd IVF cycle. He has since had a bilateral vericocelectomy and things have changed. I'm wondering if we should try on our own before we delve back into the world of IVF. Of course, I don't want to waste my time or even get my hopes up that we can do this on our own. However, the urologist that did his surgery was pleased with the results and seems to think that my DH is just fine now. I'm skeptical to say the least.

Info:
His sperm count has always been very high...499 million just a few weeks ago. The urologist was impressed with this.

Kruger Morphology...initially was 2% normal. Now...7% normal. Testosterone is now within the normal range (don't know the numbers).

The urologist says that bc his sperm count is so high, the 7% normal is quite a lot. Still though, only 7% doesn't sound great to me. They say 14% is ideal, right?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Ghost, do we have a chance with these stats?

Thanks!!
Me: 35 no known issues, DH 35 low morphology (2%) and low motility, bilateral vericocelectomy

IUI with clomid #1-#3: all BFN
IVF#1: BFN
IVF #2: M/C at 8 weeks
FET #1: BFP! DD 2 yrs old!

Trying for #2 soon and anxious again...didn't think I would be.

The only thing I can add is that my RE thought my DH was okay at 6% not to require ICSI. However, he is borderline. However, his general count was not really high. He was lower to mid range if I remember correctly. If your husband has a very large count, then 7% may be what another's 9-10 % would be in terms of numbers of good sperm. Make since? However, it doesn't hurt to run it by your RE.
Me 34 endo, MTHFR, clotting issues
DH 47 semi-low morphology

I want to ask an RE about this one...
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

Thanks Ghost. I would really appreciate it if you could get any info. I haven't even spoken to my RE yet bc I'm just not ready to open up that door again. Just wondering where we stand.

Thanks mama! So, I guess at best the RE might not rec ICSI but would still rec IVF. I have to cyke myself up to go through the process again!!!
