Annashope -- Congrats on your little boy! So cool the predictor got it right too. And congrats on becoming an auntie as well! Your family has a lot to celebrate. Nice name you have picked out also.

klinger and anacris-- Thanks for the info on the doppler. I ordered the same one from ebay this morning. Should come next week. I can't wait to try it out. Any suggestions for proper use? I don't even know where to place the wand on my abdomen to start with!

leora -- How are you feeling? Has the nausea gotten worse? Yes, let me know how the doppler you bought works. I ordered one too!

karenthescorpio -- Did you try the second gender predictor link I posted? Does it still say "girl"? The link is at the bottom of this post. I can't find to hear for sure on Monday!

SD -- Have you had any morning sickness? I only had a bit around week 6 and then other than a bit of gagging only when brushing my teeth, I've had nothing. I know you've mentioned a voracious appetite on the other board. I am pretty much the same!

AFM -- I've been having weekly u/s at RE's office on Mon or Tues. This calms me for a few days and then for the weekend, I'm a wreck again! I don't have any symptoms at all so that alone makes me very nervous. I'm still just so scared of losing this baby. I lost my last pregnancy between 10 and 12 weeks so I'm getting very nervous. I sure hope I can find a heartbeat on the doppler I bought on ebay (Thanks Amanda and Anacris for the recommendation) around week 10. That will help me a lot if I can check on the baby. Otherwise, how the heck do I know the pregnancy is OK?

hi all, i joined this thread a couple weeks ago, and i've been reading all the posts, but i find it so busy that i haven't known where to start in terms of replies.... so lou- i specifically wanted to share that at a 10.5 wk check at obgyn's he couldn't find h/b on doppler, and said he wasn't surprised. it's very dependent on position of embie that early.. but earlier this wk at 12 wks, it was there loud and clear!! so i didn't want you to worry if you don't hear one at 10 wks..

congrats to everyone who's doing so well, and finding out about twins and the gender, it's all very exciting!

i'm going to buy a doppler too..as my 'nuttiness' has not disappeared.
38 yrs. DOR, TTC since '04, recommended DE but didn't listen
3 IVF's & 1 FET: 1 cancellation, 1 m/c @ 12 wks, 1 chemical, 1 miracle boy & miracle 'natural' PG right now while waiting to cycle (WTF?)

lou- Early on we'd find the heartbeat just above my pubic bone, slightly to the right. So start really low and go from there. The first time I swear it took us a good 5-7 minutes to find it...at least! Hopefully you'll be able to hear yours next week, but try not to panic if you don't - sometimes you just need to give it an extra week or two.

Leora, congrats on two!

Lou-the first predictor worked for me, this new one said boy for me though, so it didn't work.

Anna-Congrats on having a boy!

AFM-I had a bit of a scare yesterday. I woke up in the morning & when I sat up, I got really dizzy & lightheaded. I thought that I sat up too fast so I laid back down for a second & then got up slowly. The same thing happened. I sat on the bed for a minute and then got up to go to the bathroom. Everything was spinning & as I walked down the hallway, I kept veering to the right. I was starting to get very nervous. I let my dogs outside & laid down on the couch (when I laid down everything was fine) & that's when my DH got home (he works 3rd shift). He suggested maybe I needed to eat since the dizzyness was also causing nausea. I ate some breakfast & not too long later I threw it up. My DH suggested I call work & ask to go in late & go back to bed to see if that would help. I got up 1 1/2 hours later experiencing the same symptoms (except I could walk straight). I called my regular doctor because I thought it was maybe an ear infection (we see it at work all the time with the kids, the lose their balance & so forth). He suggested I call the OB. The OB wanted me to come in & said it could be my blood pressure or my sugar. Everything was normal & I was diagnosed with vertigo. Luckily it doesn't affect the baby & I was told to go home & lay down & that it would clear up on its own. If not, I have to contact my regular doctor because OB said she can't really treat it. I'm feeling better today. I get a little lightheaded if I stand up too fast but otherwise no room spinning or nausea.

Thread crashing!

Lou, saw your post. I got my doppler at 10w and found the hb that day. My friend borrowed it and couldn't find the hb until 12-13 weeks. I may have found mine earlier since there were two. At any rate, it REALLY was good to put my mind at ease, I'm glad you got one!

So much to catch up on!

Lou - predicted boy for me and that's correct.... and as far as the doppler is concerned I struggled but found mine at just a bit over 9 weeks. You have to be really patient, and really slow.... it was never really a sure thing until about 11 weeks.

Once the baby started moving daily I didn't have any urge to look for the HB.

Anna congrats on your baby boy! Joining me on team blue? LOL

Deidraj: that would be scary.... watch yourself for signs of it if you are out on your own... good thing you got your tests run and are okay, though.

Karen; it's great that you are finally posting.... I know there's a lot of people posting - find a few buddies and jump in! LOL I hope you are doing well - congrats on your 12 week mark - welcome to the second trimester!

Lou (again) Try to enjoy the pregnancy unless you have a reason to worry. I know that being in the time period that a previous loss occurs is really scary. Telling you to relax won't make it happen, but remember, most of us have had losses and look how many wonderful pregnancies come at a later date!

AFM: Nothing at all to report! Boring and normal pregnancy. Baby kicks every morning when I wake up... I lay there feeling him and falling more and more in love. He then moves between noon and 4 and again at night just before bed. Maybe he'll stick to this great schedule? LOL

My husband has been gone for most of this pregnancy and will be on his spring break-up beginning next week... so I won't have to go through this alone anymore - yay! We're also leaving for Mexico soon which I am thrilled about

Hello ladies,

I have a question to all of you. I am very fond of working out, which I normally did around 3 times a week (jogging, easy weight lifting, Pilates). I haven't been working out for nearly 4 weeks now because I was so bloated during the stims and was taking it easy ever since - I'm only starting to be slightly less bloated now. I would really like to try and get back to working out this week. In pregnancy books they say it's easier for those used to working out from before, but I don't know if I can consider myself quite used to it because for such a long period of time I was on and off treatments that I haven't been doing any of the work out regularly but rather one month work out, the next none. I was thinking to join an easy studio hour that should consist of an easy warm-up, easy weight lifting, some back and abs and eventually stretching out. Should I give up abs and back already? It's difficult to find specific exercises dos and don'ts per pregnancy stage on the internet. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Tanks,

K,
I worked out before IVF to get healthy. I stopped during the shots & up until my 10th week of pregnancy. I have been working out around 3 times a week since my 10th week, but on a much less scale than I was. I walk on the treadmill (up to a 3.7), ride the stationary bike that has a back on the seat, or do the elliptical. I have not done any weight lifting even though I'm not on a weight restriction. It just scared me to do it, especially since it had been so long. My excercising has helped because at the beginning of the pregnancy I put on 9 pounds (before I was working out) & now I've only put on 1 pound since (which the OB has been fine with). I know that if I wasn't working out my weight would be out of control & I know that's not healthy for the baby. Hopefully this helps.

Hello all!

Deidra- Vertigo is no fun. Just take your time changing positions and stop between movements to let the ears catchup. Hope you continue to feel better.

Kay - I understand your worry with working out. I worked out daily till ER. Then I took the next two weeks off except walking. I tried light weight lifting but did not feel right. I have been slowly getting back into riding my bike on a trainer - I was a big biker. I know it is good for baby to work out and my RE said that doing light cardio is good esp initially because the baby will start taking up so much of your cardio later in pregnancy. I just take it easier and work my way into it slower than I used to.

Lou - I was getting used to my weekly US as well. Now I have to wait till 3-28 to see my OB - dont even know for sure if he will do one. But I try to stay with the attitude that if I don't have any bad symptoms than everything is OK. I also don't have any other symptoms - not sick, boobs aren't really sore, nothing - just more fatigue and I eat more. I have had some very very light spotting x2 but from here and RE I know not to worry about it. I san only assume this is normal for some as well. Try not to worry, I know you will be fine.

AFM - I had my last RE appt on Friday. Babies are both growing great. Initially there was some worry about baby B because (he) was behind but he is growing just great. They released me to my OB. I'm just trying to remain calm and take one day at a time. One question - I take a prenatal vit but I have been reading a lot about DHA -omega 3 fatty acid. Is anyone taking this supplement? I dont' like fish so I don't get any that way. Thank - Kelley
