THREAD CRASHER!!

Leora - I had an SCH and had major bleeding at 10 weeks. I couldn't believe I DIDN'T lose a baby with that much blood! It was pretty good size too, and it eventually went away. I stopped bleeding at 16 weeks (no more major bleeds after that day) and it was gone by my 17 week u/s. Did not affect my girls at all. As others have said, it's much more common with twins. It can cause miscarriage, but usually resolves on it's own. A lot of the women on this board have had them, but it doesn't make it any less scary when you are the one going through it!

DrBoots - Hey woman!! I cycled with you last year. SO excited for you and the trips!! Your DD is at a great age and will be SUCH a big help. Congrats!

Lou - I can't believe you are still working out...you are so amazing! I wish I had been able to do more during my pregnancy. It's taking awhile to get this tummy flat again (I'm sure the constant Chick-Fil-A doesn't help). How are you feeling?

Leora, sending prayers your way! I'm sure everything is going to be just fine, but I can only imagine how scary it is.

Dr.Boots-Wow, triplets! Congrats!

Kay-We told everyone the day of my beta. We called family & posted it online. I know that it's better to wait until 12 weeks, but we didn't want to. This was going to be our last try at IVF due to financial reasons, so we figured if we waited & something went wrong, I would never get to tell people I was pregnant. We were also very open with people about doing IVF. I wanted the prayers of all those people to continue to help with the pregnancy. So far, it's worked out.

AFM-not much going on. Jasmine seems to be pushing upwards and making it hard for me to get a good breath in sometimes. I don't feel short of breath, just like I can't get a deep one in. It's going to be a long 13 weeks, I think, if she's already up in my ribs making me uncomfortable. Her daddy is 6'2" so I'm wondering if she will be long like him!

Reenie - CONGRATULATIONS on the arrival of Hamilton and Shelby! Those names are sooo cute! I'm glad your recovery is going well and that your little ones are doing well too. Congrats again and post some pictures as soon as you can!! :D :D

Kay - we keep a blog so everyone (family, friends, even co-workers) knew every detail about our IVF cycle, every positive HPT, every beta, etc. I know some people wait to tell people but for us with our 3 previous losses, all of our friends and family knew from the start. Their kindness, thoughts, and prayers really helped us get through those losses so we weren't nervous about telling anyone this time either. And we loved having them all cheer us on during our IVF cycle. But each person is different so you tell people when you're ready to.

Stephanie - Giant YAY for firing that terrible OB & nurse. You definitely don't need their attitude and the added stress. I'm glad you found another one.

AFM, I can't believe I'm 23 weeks today. And you figure if I need to deliver at 37-38 weeks because of my TAC, that means I'm only 14-15 weeks away from meeting my little girl. The realization that it's not that far away just really hit me today and got me all sappy and excited. I can't wait to meet her!!

Reenie100 wrote:Hi all,

My twins came earlier than we expected! My pre-eclampsia turned from mild to severe on Monday so the OB said it was time to deliver! My cute little Hamilton weighs 4 pounds 14 ounces and my little girl Shelby weighed 4 pounds 10 ounces. They are small and had some trouble getting their body heat regulated, but they're doing well now. I had a C-section and have been taking some slow walks around the maternity ward to speed up my recovery. So far the post-op pain has not been as severe as I thought-I think the meds are working well!

CONGRATULATIONS Reenie! Very happy to hear all is well with your lil Hamilton and Shelby. I'm sure they're adorable and it's good to hear you're doing well after the c-section. I'm super nervous about that. Post pictures when you can and keep us updated. :)

Take Care!

First of all - UPDATE on me --

Bleeding stopped at 3pm yesterday (ie, only bled for total of about 4 hours). I spent the long, lonely, boring night in the hospital (with a very verrrryyyy talkative roommate. sigh.) - After being woken up at 5am to check my blood pressure (ugh), I finally had my us at about 10:30am
EVERYTHING LOOKS FINE! omg, I can't believe. Y'all don't understand HOW MUCH blood there was. I was afraid I would die from losing so much blood.

They can't find the source of the bleed, which they tell me is good (because it means it won't bleed more). I'm on bed rest for the weekend and meet with my IVF doc on Sunday again. I'll probably get put on moderate bed rest for a few weeks (so no job searching and I'll get disability benefits from the govt - which will be a relief. I'm worried about money even if DH isn't. I grew up poor, he grew up rich - so I'm the one who always wants to make sure we have plenty of money). I also have an appt with the new high risk OB on Thursday. I get another u/s on Sunday.

They say that the 'threat' part of the 'threatened miscarriage' has passed for now. PHEW!

DH and I can't believe God is playing such a mind-f*ck game with us. Sheesh....

I can't wait for my next u/s on Sunday....

Also - my twins are both consistently measuring 2 days behind (ie 5w6d at 6w1d and now 6w1d at 6w3d). I'm 100% sure of the dates because of the IVF.... I know it's not much to worry about since the measurements are tiny now - also these two scans were done by different techs on different quality machines. But still, I'm worried. My last miscarriage started when the baby measured 2 days behind.....

Tech didn't give me the heart rates - but she said the heartbeats were really good. Last time, the baby's heartbeat was a little too slow....

fingers crossed for healthy babies!

JustlikeHannah-Do you already have a C-section scheduled or are you trying for vaginal delivery first?

I started out on Monday as a vaginal delivery (OB broke my water and started me on Pitocin) but ended up as a C-section. If you have any questions about the procedure, fire away. I was nervous, but it all happened so quickly and the OB who performed the surgery did a great job.

Leorira-Glad to hear the babies are okay. I've been following your story on this site for awhile and am glad things are finally working out for you.

Leora glad the babies are doing well - can't imagine how freaked out I'd be with the bleeding. I wouldn't worry about the measuring two days behind.... I posted a site a LONG time ago that talked about measurements/heartbeats for early pregnancy and what was essential. Not everyone's cup of tea but I'm a realist kind of gal. If you want to see it I'll find it for you.

I'm glad you are resting and relaxing - the job was a wash anyhow, it seems!

Glad to hear about the twins Reenie! So happy to hear about our first birth on the thread - photos please!!

Amanda you're the same as us... we blogged everything - nothing was a secret from day one. Happy to be sharing our success with another blogging IVF mommy!

Dr. Boots - Triplets! That's all I have to say about that. LOL!!

I'm missing nearly everyone but need to get to work!

Hugs to all - Oh, and AFM - BORING BORING BORING! Nothing strange with this at all - don't even feel pregnant if not for the movements (all day!) and huge stomach.

Leorira.........So glad your babies are okay! :D I can't imagine how scared you must have been. I wouldn't worry about your finances, let DH take care of that. Your job is to take care of yourself and your little ones.

Reenie.......Congratulations on the arrival of Hamilton & Shelby! :D :D How exciting to finally get to see and hold them!

JustlikeHannah......You're in the home stretch! How are you feeling? Are you ready?

Dr. Boots......Wow Trips! Congratulations! How many did you transfer? When I had my first beta, it was 690 and I was scared it would be three. DH was praying for three. I only put in two. I would have been okay with three, but I would have been nervous. It's a blessing! Enjoy it!

Rio.....Thanks again for your help on my ticker! How's your little girl doing?

Mellow......How are you? Do you know if you're having a C section or are you going to try a vaginal birth?

AFM.......We had our 20wk scan yesterday. The boys are doing great! It's so awesome to see them. They both measured at 20w1d...and 20w2d. They certainly are growing....and so is my belly! I went yesterday to think about buying some maternity jeans. Not a good idea. Very frustrating! I didn't like anything. Maybe I'll try another day. I can't believe how big I'm getting.....little scary.

I will catch up with the rest of you ladies later! Have a great day! :D

Congrats Reenie!! I'm thrilled for you all.

Just like Hannah--- I too and sooooo over this!!! My doctor is gone this week for spring break. He has promised to take them next week. I go in Monday and he will let me know what day. It better be early in the week. Last US they were both breech so it will most likely be c-section. What about you?? Also last US 2 weeks ago A measured 5lbs 13oz and B 6lbs. So that is a lot of baby, That was 2 weeks ago who knows now.

Rio Hows it going??
Leorira-- I also bled alot but only one time around 8 weeks. It was soo scary and they didn't know where it came from. I stayed on bedrest for a few days and then took it easy. I am glad everything is turning around. It was very scary but worked out in the end for us.

I am glad everyone is doing well. Take it easy enjoy this time. Twim moms get a as much done as you can. It is really hard to do anything after about 32 weeks. I wished that I would have started earlier with things like laundry. It is hard to sit in one spot or stand. I've gained right at 33 pounds but i am huge. It is all right in front. With my son I gained 50 and was big all over. These twins have taken all the groceries which is good but hard on mommy forsure!! Take care!!

Leora - Congrats on the good news with the babies.

Reenie - I am scheduled for a c-section on the 6th, though my Dr says we'll have an ultrasound to determine whether both babies are head down. If they are, we'll attempt a vaginal delivery, otherwise go ahead with the c-section. Right now Baby A is head down, but my girl is primarily transverse across the top of my abdomin. And I get the sense that my OB is not comfortable with delivering baby A then turning and pulling down Baby B as I've read is very common and most of the time produces great results. So, I'm a little frustrated, but feel like it's too late for a second opinion and regardless just want my babies here safely and healthy. My only concern with a c-section is the delayed recovery time. With my DD and vaginal birth I was good to go after 3-5 days. I'm sure it won't be the same after massive abdominal surgery. :(

Karin - Yes, home stretch, thank goodness. I'm feeling alright. Some days are better than others, but I'm just taking it easy trying to do what I can to help my body make it to term. Prayerfully I'll make it :))

Reenie congratulation !!!!!!!!!!!!! i am glad that the delivery went well and you and the babies are doing great, take it easy and enjoy.

Justlikehannah I saw a different OB that day my OB was out for a conference, i had to ask him to check my cervix so he said 2cm and the cervix close i was confuse too. Last Tuesday i saw my OB he ckecked me and he said that my cervix was softening and he said that the baby wiil be here in the next 2 weeks that i won't make it to my due date, so i am happy.
I am not having contractions but i developed hemoroides and it is painfull, my next OB appointment which is this coming tuesday i will ask him to induce me at 39 weeks because the hemoroides are getting worse i can barelly walk sometimes.
i will keep you updated.

Anyway how are you doing? so are you having contractions yet?

KatieG glad to hear from you your babies are big wich is great.

Leorira first congratulation on your pregnancy, and sorry about the bleeding but i am glad that you and the babies are fine, take it easy and i will keep you in my prayers.

Leora - I am so glad that you and the babies are ok. You have been in my prayers but I hadn't a chance to post. Rest and take care of those babies!! Also my twins have always measured 2-3 days behind, actually twin B was 5 days behind. They were worried but at each ultrasound they kept growing at a good rate and have a good strong heartbeat so they are not concerned now. I think it is hard to get a super accurate measure at this time.

Reenie - Congrats on your twins!!!

DrBoots - Trips WOW - Congrats!!!

Nothing new here - done with progesterone today. Now to see how my body really feels without the help of drugs...

Leora -- How are you doing today? I hope you are having an uneventful weekend.

Reenie -- Congratulations mama!!!

Karin -- Glad the boys are doing well and you had a good 20 week scan. Are you really just now getting to "thinking" about maternity jeans? Have you been able to wear your regular jeans so far? Heck, mine are already uncomfortable on me and I bought a pair of maternity jeans.

AFM -- My belly is looking really big to me, much bigger than it looks in this 10w1d picture I took this morning on my way out the door to play tennis. I think I'll be in some of my maternity pants before the first trimester is over! My pants are just down right uncomfortable. I can button them but when I sit I feel "pressure" on my uterus and it starts to ache. Also, anyone out there dealing with back pain? My back aches a lot. Does that get better too in the second trimester or is it all downhill. I have two herniated discs and I think the softening ligaments is making issues worse. After tennis today I'm really miserable and just laying around on the couch watching the Indian Wells tennis tournament.
