I actually suggested to DH that maybe he should be in charge of the cat litter every month after the time of ovulation just in case (was just seeing how much I could get away with). To my surprise, he actually agreed but I felt too guilty and ended up telling him I didn't think it was really necessary (especially given our 1 in a million chance of ever conceiving naturally)!

The weather here in Florida is the same as usual - sunny and hot.
I grew up in Vermont and spent most of my life in New York where there is more of a change of seasons and snow. We just moved here last year and it's taking a little getting used to. I did hate the cold weather so I guess I shouldn't complain but it gets a bit boring when the weather is pretty much the same all the time.

Hello All, beautiful day over here, not exactly warm but really sunny and nice....

Kel - don't worry. It wasn't your message that made me so anxious. I was feeling down and quite honestly just needed something to latch onto! I benefited positively from your post, really. I feel happier now. I've decided who is in control = me! So I've quietly adopted healthier eating patterns ie. I eat 3 times a day. I made a baked tofu, broccoli and almond combo last night. Drinking lots of water and DH is smiling again today. You're right, I've managed a + 2 out of 3 attempts, albeit not always for long, the signs are good. Fab news about the follie size, sounds really exciting. EC on Wednesday? that's no time at all!!

Loopy - fish? you're taking on more responsibility? what sort are they?

Dagny - I'm keeping it v.quiet this time too. I've told a friend in Sydney and one person here....plus you lot too! That's it, no parents until we've good news to tell them.

Staci - nothing from Dana for ages. She hasn't responded to the thread I set up this week. I checked and she only posted 3 times in total, maybe she'll come back? You sound v.active, I'm admiration.

Kt - how are you doing? Not heard from you for a few days. Let us know how you're feeling.

DeeDee - I hope the stims are treating you well. I have hot flushes, although only 2-3 a day but except for a sore abdomen (from the jabs I think), nothing. Interesting to read there were so many people in HR/recruitment, that's my background too! Had to give it up when I moved, so retrained into training and I love it now, although having spent years studying whilst working full time to get my IPM and MA....it broke my heart to leave the field.

Have a good weekend,
love
Debra.

Yeah I was planning to try and milk the cat-litter situation, then thinking in the 2ww when DH goes back to work I'll be laughing on the other side of my face?!!

Sounds lovely, I love Florida, played at a couple of festivals there, one in Tampa in the middle of nowhere a few years ago, I lapped up the sunshine, but kept getting told off not to get sunstroke and forfit the gig!!!! I am a bit of a sun lover, I blame my Australian roots for that one! Mind you I am a bit paranoid now as every time you turn on the TV it's about sun protection and how BAD it is for you now - can't do anything nice these days!!!

Kel,

So you are a musician? What instrument do you play?
Let me know if you are ever in this area again!

I know what you mean about the sun. When I was younger (before I knew how bad it was for me) I used to love relaxing out in the sun. I have very fair skin and now I put on layers of sunscreen every day before going out to do anything for fear of skin cancer. I rely on self tanning lotion so that at least my legs aren't completely white. Otherwise, I am a ghost!

Staci - I am a singer + producer, so am really jammy and get to do lots of travelling abroad all the time! I've been doing it for 10 years, so it was really hard when first started this cycle, as I have had to take the whole time off from d.reg, so was a bit of a shock to the system! But it's all worth it! I would definately let you know if we come out again! we get invited to the Miami Winter music conference which is every March, and is just madness! Such a beautiful place and the weather is unbelievable - I am jealous of you! 8)

Debra - I'm so glad you feel more positive - and your dinner sounds lovely!!!! Keep that PMA going, we're all in this together so sending lots of positive vibes!! Typically since I posted about good protien etc I have been feeling totally sicky and can only stomach crisps at the moment  So a bit yucky, but I think it's from my dose going up to 375 from 225.. Really hope this goes!

Don't suppose anyone's got any tips on getting red of nausea?? I've tried ginger biscuits!

Kel, I've heard of a few things that might help. Sickness wrist bands work for some. Personally, I've always found dry water biscuits do the job. Also if ginger biscuits don't work, try other ginger products - infuse it and make a tea etc.

What are your Aussie roots? Obviously don't disclose anything you'd rather not. I lived there for a year in '98 - easily the best year of my life upto that point. I worked in Sydney's CBD, lived on the LNS and ADORED the whole place/life/thing. Got to see alot of the country too, pretty much everywhere except Canberra and Adelaide....I started my backpacking years out from there too...heaven on a stick....

I hope the nausea passes very soon. One day on crisps won't hurt

hugs,
Debra.

Thanks Debra, I think I might have some ginger tea hidden somewhere, so I'll give it a go!

As for my aussie roots, I was born in Perth, but my parents are English so I've got a passport for both countries. I was really young when we moved back over here, so I had a bit of an emotional trip there last year when we had a tour, and got to go all over and play in Perth! It's lovely isn't it? Sydney is amazing, I agree about the whole lifestyle thing, and the clothes are 1/3 of the price they are here!!! I bet you had a great one backpacking!

Hi, everyone. Sorry not posted for a while but have just caught up with all your stages. Had 2 embryos transfered, day 5 on Thursday so now am on 2 ww. I am milking it for all its worth. No housework, cooking etc. But I have managed to watch videos and catch up on all the gossip in Hello........its a tough life.
No really I am quite bored.
Oh has anyone got any tips for constipation, am drinking loads of water.I think its the progesterone.
Wishing you all the best

Hi Kt, congrats! I agree, 2ww are way too boring usually. Last week someone casually offered me the entire Harry Potter series of books and I turned it down. I should have said yes!

Re. constipation. Somtimes stomach massage can help (clockwise as you look down) plus I've found eating dates fairly late at night usually helps. Or dried apricots, I guess prunes would do the same but I've never needed to go beyond dates which I prefer. All that water you're drinking should help too. I know phylliym husk (sp?) will also do the job. It's a powder from health shops that you mix with water and it turns into a jelly. It's very fiberous and is recommended sometimes. Check but I don't think there's anyreason to avoid whilst pg - which you are!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What date will you test? will it be a blood test a the clinic or a HPT?

I hope the days speed by for you!
hugs,
Debra.

Kel,

My DH used to be a singer in a band as well but that was before I met him. Now, he is an attorney (and not so happy about it)!

It must be quite exciting traveling so much. I used to travel some for work and do miss that. I actually spent about a month each year working in London. Now, that I am not working at all life can get rather dull some days. I am happier overall though as I had a very stressful job and I never would have been able to deal with IVF at the same time.

Kt,

Congrats on your transfer!! Sounds like things went well. Are you off from work for the entire 2 ww? You said you are not doing any housework or cooking so I presume your DH is taking care of all that? You are lucky! Mine can't cook so I still cooked over the 2 ww (nothing too ambitious though) and I still ended up doing some housework as he works such long hours that I knew it would never get done otherwise. Next time around, I'm going to try to be a bit less active...at least for the first few days after transfer.

Hi JCB's

I can't believe I am sitting in my lounge on a beautiful day posting

Well, AF reared her ugly head this morning  just as I got in from church (I must have been praying very hard asking God to let me get going asap!) and immediately burst into tears. I suppose I am feeling scared as well as excited. My DH was so sweet and is such a support to me. We are having dinner at his parents this evening and as we aren't telling any family I am not sure how to get around the injection at 8pm. We will either have to make a quick exit or I will have to be stealth like in the bathroom.

We shall see..................................

Hoping everyone is doing OK?

Kt - Well done on ET. Keep those little embies safe and keep up the fluids.

Love Dagny xkx

Afternoon Buddies!

Kt - Hope you are getting a good rest and ready to be taken over by daytime tv??? Scarey! Good luck with your 2ww!

Dagny - GREAT NEWS!! Glad it's happening for you now! Do you think you would be able to do a secret jab? Good luck and thinking of you!

Debra - Thanks for your help yesterday, I found some mint tea in the end and it did ease the nausea a bit, as did fish and chips!! I am so off food, but feel lots better today... Hope you are getting on ok with your stimms?

Loopy - How's it all going for you??

Staci - I know what you mean about stressful job and IVF, I don't think I could have carried on and gone through this part so far, but the time has dragged so slow not doing much! But my clinic told me to take it easy from day 1 so I wasn't going to argue and guess I am lucky to be able to take a break and then go back...

Hope everyone else is ok too, and enjoying the 8)

Scan in the moring so am really nervous and a bit teary today, just so want it to go ok and get the go ahead for EC for definate.. It's certainly is a ROLLLLLERCOASTER!!!!!

Hi, no sun to avoid here. Just drizzle....

Kel, I've a scan tomorrow am too. We can be stirrup buddies  Glad the mint tea helped. I liked Perth, although I was only there a short while, I spent New Year at the trotting track in '98.

Staci - I was trawling the American Pregnancy Association board after yesterday and they suggest 800 iu of Vit.A too. Did you buy a different brand? I smiled at your comment that you'd go out and buy more today. I'd find that impossible, this is a very 'everything's closed on Sundays' country. You can buy petrol (at 4 times the price of the US) and a few cafes are open, but that's it! I whined when I first moved but now really like the fact that weekends are different - quieter, more relaxed and everyone gets a break. I'd miss seasons too. I've only dipped into Fl. - I changed trains in Jacksonville on my way from Savannah to Biloxi.

Dagny, I'm not getting into a debate re. the merits of Mssrs. Beckham and Mears. One would save my life, the other has done wonders for men's hair band sales - no contest

Loopy: please explain the fish! How are you doing? is your scan this week? I've got two.

Kt - do you have a plan for the two weeks? Do lots of people know what's going on?

Off to prepare another super healthy dinner. Am getting into the swing of this now. DF is happy again (Tracey S - DF says 'thanks'!), water intake still going well and I feel in control and calm.

hugs,
Debra.
