FEB / MARCH 2011 Cycle Buddies!! can't wait!

Hi everyone,

I hope you dont mind me gatecrashing this thread. Me and DH started our FET mid February. I did intend on joining a thread at the beginning of our treatment but unfortunately my mother-in-law was taken ill and sadly she passed away a few weeks ago - so we've had a very traumatic and awful time lately

Obviously we still continued with treatment - my mother-in-law wouldn't have wanted us to give up!

I've been taking viagra tablets whilst taking the hormone patches. I've had 2 scans and the lining of the womb is now at 8.6 - so it's getting thicker! I have my last Buserelin injection on Saturday and start Utrogestan & Estradiol and continue with the hormone patches. My ET is scheduled for Wednesday 6th April! eek! So I'm thinking thick!

We're excited but scared at the same time!

I also wanted to start acupuncture before commencing treatment but of course with what happened I didn't get round to starting it. I've got a session booked for Friday and I'm hoping he can fit me in before ET and then hopefully the afternoon of ET!

Does anyone have any tips of what else I can do to help the thickness?

Hope you don't mind me joining. I will try and catch up on what's happening with everyone!

Katie: I am so sorry for you. You have been through a lot. The only thoughts I can give, your RE probably already thought of...clotting disorders can cause recurrent loss, a malformed uterus. Also, I know Tammy from another thread has been having issues with her estrogen levels being too low. Don't worry about expressing your feelings here, we understand. That is what we're all here for. I wish I could help you.

Well I'm at the office and sitting in the waiting room right now. It seemed like a long uncomfortable drive but sooooo excited that the day is finally here. Time for the retrieval!!! I will do my best to post again afterwards and let everyone know how it went.

Sorry I haven't had time to catch up. I had a family emergency yesterday and got home from the hospital very late lastnight.

Katie-I am sorry that you have to go though this. I know there isn't anything that anyone can say to make the horrible pain disappear. Remember that we are here for you.

ASM-no signs of AF yet. Wow, don't know what's going on. This is dwfinately new for me. I took my last Provera 5 days ago. Well, I will just have to keep waiting.

Hang in there WeHaveHope! She will come and I am still dancing for you. In fact, I may have danced too hard and brought on my very own early AF!

AFM- talked to my RE this morning. He says that based on the fact I had cramping yesterday and still have moderate flow today that I probably have a "crashed" cycle which is not uncommon after IVF. He says your ovaries get spoiled from the stims, and that when your body produced less natural fsh than what its been used to in IVF a follicle fails to develop and on comes your favorite aunt!

The good news is that he wanted me to do a sonohysterogram to check out that everything is okay because he thinks the quality embies we have transferred should have led to a baby by now. Since it has been 18 month since the laparoscopy, he wants to check it. Which means that I would have had to miss another cycle and due to work travel would have meant we were waiting until November to transfer. Yikes! Now that AF has made an early entrance, I can go in for a test next week and do the FET in after my next "real" period. So assuming everything comes out okay with that and a couple of additional blood tests he's ordering, I am probably going to be delayed a little but can still fit it in before I leave for school. It will be close and will mean that I will be away from home alone during my 2ww, but after how crazy I was in this last go around I think that might actually be a good thing.

Of course there is still the risk my cycle will stay crazy or that we'll find reasons we are having issues which would be a game changer, but for now I feel really good about staying on track.

We also decided not to go to blast with the 4 cleaved embryos we will be thawing, instead we will do a 3dt...possibly with ALL FOUR depending on quality (he won't do four if they all look great, but that is pretty rare I guess). So we have our plan set and I go in for testing next week. I have never had a sonohysterogram before and am a little nervous because I have heard you all complain about them before!

Anyway- I am cautiously optimistic at this point that I will be a May transfer.

Hey everyone- just a quick update. It was a very rough time getting the IC in and actually took them 4 times in 4 different spots before they had success. The ended up not giving me the versed and fentanyl until I was in the operating room so I ended up having a mild panic attack and crying on the table. Then I don't even know what all they did but the whole procedure was pretty uncomfortable (more so than my last retireval). On the plus side the RE said things went great and they got 15 eggs. He said we should hear back tomorrow by 10 or 11am on the maturity and fertilization rates. Now home to nap and lounge all day. I will try to check back in later. Hope everyone is doing well.

OH Blair!!! So very exciting! 15 is a GREAT number...now let's keep our fingers crossed for a high number of mature ones and 100% fertilization!!! Your BFP is on it's way!

I hated my ER too. I'm allergic to all opiates. I actually have a psychotic hysterical reaction, meaning I lose touch with reality. Really crazy. So I HATE ER's for that reason. They have to give it to me otherwise it would be waaaaayyyy to painful. They just have Narcan which is an immediate opiate blocker standing by for when the procedure is done. I'm sure I make for great water cooler talk. But I'll do what I have too.

Now home to rest for you! Your babies are coming home soon. Are you doing a 3 day transfer or a 5 day?

AFM - Feel like AF is coming and since I"m 8dp5dt my period would normally be coming tomorrow...but of course the PIO will keep it away until I stop taking the PIO. However, I had a dream last night that I was in labour and no one believed me that I was in labour because I was handling it way to well. Not sure if that's a good sign or not.

Well back to essay writing to keep my mind off of my 2ww.

Pumpkin- I was excited about 15, and am just hoping most if not all are mature. I am probably having a 3 day transfer on sunday. The doctor told DH we could do 5 day transfer if we end up with a bunch of good ones but more than likely a 3 day.

Afm- we are still sitting in traffic. I cannot wait to get home to my bed and take a nap.

Blair - Congrats! That is an excellent number. Hope you can get a lot of rest in, once you get home

Bliss - I had that procedure, and it was only uncomfortable for a few mins. It will be over before you know it.

Blair...ouch! Sorry for the traffic and the complicated procedure! Sounds like it was well worth it though. Rest up! You are going to be PUPO before you know it. Excited for you and can't wait for the fert report.
