Margi - I am soo happy for you. I felt so sure with your numbers and all that it had to be twins. your heartbeats are about the same as mine were at that stage. One was always smaller and HB a little slower. They get faster each time. That is just so wonderful - some good sunshiny news on a rainy, stormy day here.

Lou - Good luck with your NT scan tomorrow. I need to call and check on the status of mine getting scheduled. They said they would call and schedule it and that was on Thursday - trying to be patient but I will push tomorrow. I know it has to be done fairly soon so I am getting anxious.

Leora - I also stopped all my meds at 10 weeks - no weaning. I did not have any spotting or anything. My RE also specified before I even asked that I did not need to ween down. I think you should do whatever you are most comfortable with and will cause you the least amount of stress. It sounds like it has been done both ways. We have had 4 hours straight of heavy constant down pour and thunderstorms. The weather map look like we could have another 4. So if you want some rain I have extra to share. I may need to invest in a boat.

Happy bunny - that is great news on the growth check. That is a great US picture.

AFM - I have been having bad headaches. Don't know if it is because of the weather pressure systems moving in and out - I was fine all weekend with the sunny weather but then today with the storm I can hardly function. I used to get migraines / stress type headaches but have managed them for the past several years with exercise. I hope they are not returning!!! Anybody else with experience with this?

I went through a period at about 12-17 weeks when I had terrible headaches and I usually don't have headaches. My doctor said that it is normal to experience frequent headaches during pregnancy due to the rise in blood volume. She told me to take Tylenol as directed on the bottle. While the Tylenol only helped a little, the headaches eventually went away on their own.

Happy Bunny -- Great u/s pic! What a sweet face.

Gina -- Glad the babies are doing well. So sorry about your anemia. I agree... take docusate 100 mg (Colace) every night. It's a stool softener. Also, keep some Milk of Magnesia on hand in case you get a bit... ehem... plugged up. :D

Leora -- So sorry you are sick dear. Rest and take care of yourself.

KJM -- Hope you get your NT scheduled soon. I've been having headaches as well. Had a bad one on Saturday and again today for most of the day. It's better now. I think it's hormones. Hoping the second tri brings relief cuz tylenol sure doesn't!

AFM -- Here's my 12w1d pic taken on Saturday. Trying to take one weekly.

Margi; those twins are gorgeous! I can't wait to follow the rest of your journey. Congratulations once again - you're well out of the starting gate!

Lou: I'm beginning to see a bit of a baby belly there!!

Leora: I weaned myself off a bit... I wasn't happy about going off my 'sticky meds'... LOL Sorry about your cold!

Gina: Glad to see you had good results with your bloodwork... except the anemia... I hope you get that looked after soon. Yeah... better counter the iron because of the constipation. It can be brutal! I hope you feel more energetic soon.

Happy Bunny - What a cute photo!! LOL Glad you got your weight - that's so amazing that they can measure that accurately....

Amanda; Baby boy kicks in a few places - under my right rib, along my right hip, directly around my belly button and over the left side of my pubic bone. He can actually kick something off my stomach if he times it correctly. Last night he had something poking out above my hip and I pushed it back... I was delighted to realize it was his foot, and he pushed me right back!! Too amazing!! :)

UGH. What was I thinking taking 2 accelerated classes (lasting 5 weeks) when I'm pregnant? This is torture especially because I feel nauseous all.the.time. And listen to this.. one of my very hard, very important nurses classes ended last week. I worked SO hard for my last powerpoint only to have this pregnant brain of mine turn in the ROUGH DRAFT! UGHH.. Got my grade back last night and saw that I got a little above 50% on the assignment and was shocked! I emailed my instructor to explain to her what happened and that I had, in fact, completed my presentation on time, but just attached the wrong powerpoint by mistake. I have yet to hear back from her. I doubt she'll actually change my grade though.. I ended up getting my first B- which brought down my GPA from 3.92 to 3.8 :( If she doesn't change my grade, I'm going to have to repeat the class to maintain my A average :( I need my A's to get into a good CRNA school! :(

Anyway, time for bed, but just wanted to drop by quickly and say..

CONGRATS, MARGI!! 2 healthy heartbeats, yeah!! I'm so thrilled for you and DH! Take it easy now, prego mommy.

Hi All! I'm happy to say that I had my NT scan today and the measurements were normal! :D My doc feels really good about it. I did have bloodwork done, I think a free HCG and a PAPP-A and will get a call on Friday with the full results. My AFP is on 4/29. I really needed some good news today as I had nightmares last night that things didn't go well. My darn mind playing tricks on me.

Oh my goodness ladies it had been too long! I have been super, super busy! My OB told me to plan on bedrest at 24 weeks so I have been working my butt off to try to make sure everything is in order in my classroom if I don't make it to the end of the year! Not to mention I have been helping plan my sister's baby shower which is in less than 2 weeks now! I'm sorry for being absent but I am about to try and catch up!

Lou....What wonderful news on your NT scan! Such a relief! And I love your "bump" shots, although you still look really freaking skinny to me!! LOL!

Ashley...I'm sorry your classes are such a bear! I've been thinking about you and wondering how things are with your brother? Also, how are your parents?

Sonya....I'm glad you have such a wonderful time in Mexico! I love that you pressed his little foot and he kicked you back...so sweet. And I love the name Brogan. It's very strong and original!

Leora...I'm so glad all has calmed down for you. You sooooo deserve a calm pregnany. I'm sorry that you aren't feeling well. I am usually the sickest person around, DH calls me a petri dish. For some reason since getting pregnant I haven't gotten sick at ALL (knock on wood) and DH has been sick with everything! I think it's payback since I had a rough start to the pregnancy-he had to take one for the team! I hope you find some relief in rest and tea and get yourself some new tylenol! Regarding your support meds...if it were me I would BEGIN the weaning when doc said to stop. I stopped mine cold turkey, but not until the doc said too.

Barbara...What an amazing picture of your little girl! She looks absoultely perfect!

Margi...I am over the moon excited for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are bringing home TWO cali babies! That's just awesome! I love the US pic!

Mellow...I am so sorry to here that little Claire is having some growth issues. I will continue to pray for her and her twin sister...and their mommy too!

Rio...I hope you got your US rescheduled! That totally stinks that the power was out!

AFM...I haven't thrown up in almost 3 weeks and I have gained 8lbs back from my original weight loss! Yay! I hope it isn't too quick of a weight gain, but I just feel sooooo much better now that I am eating and it's all staying down! DH are in debates over baby boy's name still. We took Ethan off the list because I just wasn't feeling it as my son. We are debating between Dylan and Zachary now. I love them both, but my issue with Zachary is that my oldest sister (who is my dad's daughter, but raised with us) has a nephew named Zachary already on her mom's side. Silly reason probably, but I want my baby to be different :) Baby girl is Isabella Aubrey. I'm just starting to feel them move now (I feel like a bit of a late bloomer) and it's amazing! I haven't had an ultrasouns performed by a doctor since my NT scan at 12w4d. I'm now over 20 weeks. It's kind of mind blowing that they aren't checking them more often. I have an ultrasound scheduled on Friday, so I am praying that all is still well. We cheated and did the 3d ultrasound at 16w, but that wasn't performed by a doc. The ultrasound Friday is the second one with the MFM doc that did the NT scan. Then I see my OB Monday. Is it strange that he has not done 1 single US on me? He has viewed my RE's us and the MFM us, but he has never performed one. I really, really like him so I haven't looked elsewhere, but I'm wondering if this is strange. Now that I'm in the 20's I'll probably start beggin him to check them more often for reassurance. But, my belly is growing like crazy, so I trust that all is well in there. Sometimes you just have to have faith, right?

Happy Bunny - Hopefully mine will ease as well. Yes Tylenol helped with the first few but yesterdays was horrible - nothing helped.

Lou - I am so glad you got great results with your NT scan. I am not happy about the headaches either. I know exercise helps but when you have them I can't exercise and the pregnancy and fatigue doesn't help - I guess I need to just try harder. Love the pictures. I have past you up. My belly doubled I swear in the last week. Getting harder to hide it at work.

Hope is all I have -Sorry about your class - hopefully the instructor will take pity. I hope you start feeling better soon and the classes get easier.

Ryann - I am happy to hear you are feeling better. That is great that you are gaining your weight back. I'm on the got to have faith path as well. My last US was at 8 weeks. Hoping to get my MT scan scheduled but my OB didn't even recommend so I had to push for it and I don't see my OB till 4-25. My belly is growing and I haven't had any bad signs so I keep going on and try not to worry.

AFM: The headache is gone after 3 hour nap and sleeping 10 hours last night (only up once to pee - couldn't believe it). Still waiting for OB to call me back for NT scan - I called this morning to see what was up.

Hope everyone else is having a great Tuesday and boring pregnancies!!!

Margi I am so excited for you...twins!!! this will be so great and I am betting you have a b/g combo too...wouldn't that be perfect..I am just so excited for you

Mellow how are you doing? please know I am keeping little Claire in my prayers and all will be ok :)

Lou I am so glad the NT scan went well and I love the weekly pictures. So how much have you gained? You still look so thin and awesome! I am so glad you can finally breath a sigh of relief and enjoy your pregnancy

KJM I too had pretty bad headaches between 12-14 weeks but then they just went away so hang in there hopefully you will feel better soon

Sonya how exciting about you feeling his little foot :) I can't wait to get to that point. The other night baby Paul finally kicked hard enough for DH to feel him and it was so exciting. On the remodeling front however I have to admit you are a brave woman....DH loves starting construction projects around the house and I usually do them with him but lately I have been pretty tired so I can't imagine how you still have the energy to take this on for the 3rd trimester...you have my utmost respect :)

Ashley I am so sorry that your classes are so difficult..you have my sympathy. I have just finished my Masters 6 months ago and it was brutal juggling work, school and my son and fertility treatments and now I am so thankful its behind me because I don't think I could have added pregnancy amnesia to it. Hang in there....how much longer before the classes are over?

Barbara I love the pic of your little girl

AFM I am doing well on the pregnancy front and love feeling baby Paul kicking. On another front however my poor 10 year old son broke his arm yesterday and it was terrible. He was in so much pain and even though we are only 7 minutes from the hospital the drive felt like forever  He is a little better today but still on a lot of pain meds and will be in a cast for 6-8 weeks.
I feel like I am getting bigger and bigger by the minute now but I am loving it. My level II scan is tomorrow and I am nervous I just hope and pray that everything will be ok and I can finally announce this pregnancy and really enjoy it. I will update with pictures tomorrow and God willing with good news

Margi - WOW! SUPER CONGRATS!!! I'd imagine he meant the SCH isn't close to either of the sacs which is great. Those pain in the butt things usually resolve themselves, thank goodness. I hope you and DH are doing something to celebrate.

Sonya and Mellow - Love the names ladies! Very cute!

Happy - What a gorgeous little face! She just looks like such a sweetheart!

Gina - I definitely agree with you about anemia over GD or HIV  That being said, Leora's right about the constipation with the extra iron. Be sure to eat LOADS of high fiber foods and drink plenty of water. When I got REALLY backed up while taking Zofran, I found Milk of Magnesia to be a Godsend! Oh, and I was too side-tracked by my "disability" mess and forgot to mention the lumps! My next appt is this coming Monday, so I'll tie a string to my finger especially since it's still there.

kjm - Agreed with Bunny about the headaches. I kept a small bottle of Tylenol Rapid Release with me at all times there for awhile around the same time. Hang in there! Hopefully yours will pass quickly.

Lou - YAY for fantastic NT measurements! My understanding is that's the more important part. So, awesome news!

Ryann - So good to hear you're over your awful m/s and gaining weight back! I love your daughter's name and really like both of the boy choices. Do you have a middle name in mind?

Anna - Glad to hear all's well with baby Paul! So sorry to hear about DS's arm. Hope he starts feeling better fast!

afm- Had my 3 hour glucose torture today. I got about a third of my baby shower thank you cards done while sitting in the most horribly uncomfortable waiting room seats EVER! DH took me to one of my favorite breakfast places afterwards since I was STARVING. Hope my results come back okay! Fingers and toes crossed everyone! Unfortunately, I'm getting so little packing done, I'm starting to worry if I'll have anything ready to go by the 29th... On Sunday, I was working on something minor and my BHs got so bad, I was doubled over. I immediately threw in the towel and was in bed with lots of water for the rest of the day. I might have another go at it here shortly, but my plan is to time myself. 15 minutes of packing followed by 15 minutes off my feet.

Does anyone else in or about the 3rd Trimester feel like they've had a sudden and dramatic energy drop? I don't work and even basic household duties are completely exhausting. I'm normally a high activity type of person. I'm eating right, have only gained about 10lbs total and have good BP... But suddenly, my little passenger seems to be causing me to have no energy.

Quick update......

Sorry I have been MIA. My in-laws came to visit last Thursday and left Monday afternoon. It was a good visit. I was busy alot. Yesterday, I went to take my car to get it serviced. I thought that I would go across the street to Marshall's while I waited. When i got there, I started feeling weird. Then I started feeling contractions. I got a bottle of water and went into a dentist office next to Marshall's. I could see a sofa in the window and went in and asked if I could sit for a little while. Next thing you know, I felt them one after the other. I layed down and called my dr. She said that if I had 4 or more in an hour to go to L&D. I had way more. I called DH and he came and picked me up. We went to the hospital and they hooked me up. I had about 10 contractions in 45 minutes. They gave me a shot to stop them. They did an u/s to check the babies and my cervix. The babies were okay. They weighed 1.3lbs and 1.4lbs. The fluid was good. My cervix was 3.1....which I thought sounded bad. The nurse said it was okay and within normal range.

After being monitored for about 6 hours, they let me go home. I was told to take it REALLY easy and if it happens again to call. She said I obviously couldn't go on my trip and that if it continues to happen that i would be put on bedrest.

We were so scared. I will be lying flat for the rest of my pregnancy. Only to get up to eat and go to the restroom. I am grateful my babies are okay and plan to protect them with everything I have in me.

I hope that all of you ladies are having a great week. Sorry for the lack of personals, but I can't sit up too long. I am able to read on my phone, but can't post. My Mac is a desktop. I am thinking of all of you.

God bless.
~Karin~

Karin - how scary!! I'm glad you and the babies are ok and I agree that taking it easy and laying low would be the best thing to do. 3.1 is still a good cervical length but it's a good thing they're going to keep an eye on it going forward. Hope you've got some fun things to do on bedrest. Any hobbies? Or books, movies, TV shows you've been dying to catch up on?
