I'm 32. DH is 38. He has a low count and I have unexplained infertility. We went through 2 failed IUIs last year and went on to IVF. I was on Gonal F-225, Menopur -2amps, Lupron, and recently added Tev-Tropin (human growth horomone). I only have about 5 follicles - only one at 15mm.
I'm distraught to say that we might be cancelling this cycle because of poor stimulation. I am waiting for a call, right at this moment from RE office to see if we are going on with the retrieval or not. DH and I told them we did not want to do it if it was only a "decent" chance. We want a good chance or convert to IUI again.
I've heard IUI with 5 follicles is pretty good.
Anyway, any words of encouragement would be great. I'm hopeful but afraid of another IVF cycle.
Hope to hear from someone soon.

Well, for encouragement...it really does only take one. There is a lady on this board whose RE wanted to convert her to an IUI because her response was so low. However, she insisted on going through with IVF. With one embie, she is pregnant. I think your chances with IVF are almost always greater than with IUI. However, there is also a lady on the board who gave IUI a shot although RE said the chances of it working was really low. She is pregnant too! Hope this helps you feel better. RE's also have different protocols that they can try if you have a low response the first time. Good luck!

I'm seeing two REs. The second one because her office hours allows DH to give samples later afternoon. She wants me to get the exact measurements of my follies.
Next appointment tomorrow will decide if IVF is worth it. Second doc said depends on egg quality.
Holding breath...
