Bliss- I know what you mean about the board being quiet lately. Even though we have been enjoying the sights in monterey I've still been checking in on my phone. Sounds like the adoption stuff is going well and its great that you have a plan for your next ivf cycle. I agree it would be hard to leave the morula behind so sounds like you have 2 potential cycles. Best of luck. How are things progressing with this one?

AFM- sorry I didn't do personals for everyone but just wanted to check in once I saw bliss had posted. I was a little depressed and not feeling well this morning so after we got back to our friends house I wanted to go ahead and test. Since it was the afternoon and only the 6dp5dt I knew chances were slim of seeing a positive...but I did!! I know its still early and you never know but I was ecstatic!

OMG Blair- that is wonderful!!!! Its never too early for a BFP...a positive is a positive is a positive. I just know this is it for you!!! Now go relax, be happy, and enjoy your vacay. You are preggo and you are going to stay preggo this time. Yay!

As for this cycle for me, I am waiting for AF which could be here as early as Friday and then its game on! I suspect I will be late this month though since I had that weird midcycle bleeding and I usually go 30 days after a cycle. If AF doesn't come this weekend, I am going to bring her on through acupuncture on Tuesday. Its too early to dance, but shine your shoes because I will be enlisting your help soon.

I go for my u/s tomorrow. I get so nervous before all of these appointments. I have been having a fair amount of ms - but all day. By the way, my patches came! Yea! Now, in two days, I'll have to start badgering them to send me my next refill, I only get 8 days worth from mail order, but it's better than 2 days worth from local - I guess.
Good luck Blissful in whatever you decide. You really deserve to have a little one whether through adoption or IVF.

AFM-as you all know AF came yesterday. However, still quite confused about my cycle and what this means. I have an appt tomorrow for blood work and an u/s. I am not sure what they are looking for but I am still taking the Provera. I was told tat although AF came that they still wanted me to be on the Provera a total of 7 days. Something to do with making sure that I shed the entire lining of my uterus. AF was very strange last night and this morning with only minor spotting and more brownish in color (sorry for TMI). Kind of like the end of AF and not the beginning, although it looks like things may be picking up a bit tonight. I am afraid now that I may not shed the lining as I should. Always something to worry about. Well, I will know more tomorrow. I am sending lots of PMA, baby dust, and hugs to all. I will keep all of my IVF friends in my prayers.

Bliss - another option if you want to transfer all you have is to transfer your 3 day embies on day 3 and do another transfer on day 5. My clinic won't transfer anything that is not at least 7 cells so if a patient insists on doing a 3 day transfer they will transfer whatever embies the patient has that is 7 cells or better. If the patient has embies that are less then 7 cells, they will culture them to day 5 and if they are blast on day 5 they will do another transfer. I know sounds weird but I have seen several instances that they do this and it works. One of my cycle buddies has twins due to having 2 transfers.

to_have_fun08 : i saw ur signature, u have unfortunately failed 6 ivf cycles ( and yeeeeyyyyyy got ur bfp on the last one congrats!) im in very good health, no problems at all, my embryos are always very good quality, grade 1, we only have male factor, and yet i have had 4 ivf failed cycles unexplained !!!!!
did ur RE told u the cause??? have u changed RE or tried all the attempts with the same RE?? what did u do different to got ur bfp???

to all other ladies, especially ones with BFP: did anyone got a BFP while wearing a lot of body lotion and perfumes on ET day ? coz i did (i didnt know i shouldnt) and now all im thinking about is that i damaged the embryos before even being put in my uterus

Fruit: I cannot imagine that being the room with you for a few seconds before being transferred into you would have caused any harm even if scents could hurt them. I have personally been told any time I have had a surgical procedure to keep scents to a minimum. These were not all related to fertility treatments. I think it has more to do with not overwhelming the medical staff....I can imagine some people do wear waaaaay toooo much and it could cause staff's eyes to water or some may have allergies. That's my thoughts.

AFM: I had my u/s today! There is a singleton. Little one measures 7w1d (RE said +/- 2-3 days is perfectly normal). That puts due date 11/28, the same as my son's. (My son also measured 7w1d when he was 7w2d so not concerned.) Heartbeat was 139. RE is very happy with results, and so are we.

And to think...you didn't even have to use but one test on this vaca. Now you can just chill. Congrats to you and hubby. You can add your name to the BFP list. Cheers!!

Bliss-That's awesome that you're getting a "2 fer" outta this, but honestly, I don't think you'll need it. It must be nice to know that regardless of the method you'll be getting a little one. I'm happy you can relax through this next cycle(s) with that peace of mind. I think that will make the difference in your success.

Mamaboo-Isn't it great to hear such a strong heartbeat? Before every appt I get nervous too. I don't think that's gonna change either.

Crissy-thanks for asking. I am not quite sure. The Provera is supposed to make you bleed but my cycle has just been turned around completely. After the ER I was supposes to get AF 3 weeks later. I got it 2 weeks to the day after ER. I think that started the problem. My RE then gave me Provera x 10 days but 13 days after the last dose, nothing. At thi point I went in for blood work and was anovulatory. So, another dose of Provera started and 5 days later AF came to visit. The flow has picked up a bit. I also went in today for blood work and my E2 level was 39. The nurse said that this was a good low number, which was good. I am a nurse but do not specialize in IVF and I can tell you that this has all been extremely confusing even for me.

Plan:
*Start BCP tomorrow 4-13-11
*Start Lupron 10u in the am on 4-24-11
*Stop BCP on 5-1-11 (last dose)
*Appt on 5-6-11 to start Estrogen Patches
*Appt on 5-20-11 for E2, P4, U/S, and Pre-op
*FET on 5-24-11

If I have learned anything from this experience is that you you really can't plan for IVF. Nature has a way if taking it's own course.

Mamaboo- That is a WONDERFUL appointment and terrific results. I am simply estatic for you!

Fun- My RE wouldn't do that, in fact he really doesn't want to transfer four of the young ones and says given my age and apparent health he won't do more than three unless the quality is questionable. I didn't share this before because I thought I had already rambled on long enough , But if all four do thaw nicely he wants to see if the fourth one makes it to blast, then he'll refreeze it and include it in the freebie FET. Its pretty unlikely that would happen though...a second freeze would be extremely rare and even if it did make it to blast a second thaw would be unlikely to yield a healthy embie. So theoretically our natural FET could be 2 embies. I'm not banking on it though, I have a lot of PMA...but I am not sure anyone has that much PMA!
