HPTs

Post by Riley baby maybe »

Hello Ladies! It's been a while since I've been on here, but I want to encourage you POASers. I am that story...I went in for my beta and had not POASed yet and I let my mother talk me into taking one after my blood draw. I had resisted the urge and didn't want to be disappointed, but I did take one that day and it was NEGATIVE! However, when my bloodwork came in later that day my number was 98. So, it just goes to show that you can never rely on those tests.

Also, I had my blood drawn one day early by going in and saying "I'm here for my blood draw...blah, blah, blah...I'm so excited to find out today" and they didn't have the heart to reschedule me. For those of you who can't wait, this may work for you! Best of luck, ladies. I pray that you will each realize your dream of being a MOMMY!

HopeisallIhave- so exciting that it worked the first cycle! I pray for the same! They told me it would take 3 months to complete a cycle but seems that you'r was very quick is that normal time frame?

Lynzee - thanks!! :) I'm so glad it worked the first time, too! We most likely had a vanishing twin scenario right from the beginning, but I'm just glad I have one healthy baby on the way. :D

3 months sounds awfully long. What kind of protocol are you doing? As far as I can remember, I started my AF on Dec 30, 2010 and then I started on my BCP's, Lupron, and Follistim soon after. Jan 26th was my last day of meds as I triggered that day and the 28th was my egg retrieval. 2nd Feb was my transfer and we found out on Feb 11th that we were pregnant with a beta of 133. So I guess it was a month and a half from my AF to pregnancy. Best of luck to you and I hope you have beginner's luck as well! :D

I am not sure of the protocol yet... I had bilateral hydrosalpinges (fluid filled fallopian tubes) so both of them were removed 3/24/11 - they would not start IVF with them still in because the fluid inside could kill any embryos implanted so I submitted all consents signed yesterday and they told me they will get back to me with my "plan" so now I am just waiting to hear. I dont even know when AF is due anymore because they had me take BCP's for a month before surgery so now I am not sure of when AF is coming. The nurse just said they would call with my plan, hopefully it's soon! :D

Sorry to hear about your bilateral tube removals.. but if that means it creates a safe environment for the baby, then why not, right? Hope you get your protocol soon and that your AF is right around the corner! Loads of baby dust to you!

This is a great story! Do you mind me asking what type of test you were using? Was it one of the ones that is supposed to be positive "days before your period"? I just wrote a post trying to encourage people to wait to do hpt's on my blog. Or atleast to tell them to keep their spirits up if they get a negative. Would you mind me copying and pasting your story to my blog? I think people should hear things like this to help them stay positive. I will only do it if you respond. Thanks!!! Congrats on your positive!!!!!!!!!!
After 7 attempts (2 negatives/3 miscarriages), we have TWO miracle boys!! If you would like to hear our story, please visit http://www.ivfsuccessstories.info. Never give up, it can happen for you!!

Hi Brit. Of course you can use my story; I hope that it will encourage others which is why I posted it here. I believe it was an ept and it absolutely said it would pick up a positive before a period is due. Thank you for the congrats!!
