Mellow - I am so terribly sorry to hear that you and your family are having to endure yet another hardship. I'm praying that you and baby Marlo are able to make it through this. Stay strong and positive!

Anna - Wonderful news about your PAP! I don't know how accurate this is, but my understanding is that BHs (as well as baby's movement) can be felt earlier in second pregnancies. I think it's something to do with you knowing what it feels like and the uterus is more "experienced".

Ryann - I can't wait to see pics of the babies' nursery once you and DH have it finished!

Leora - YAY for the 12 week milestone!!! Too funny that you didn't realize it until you looked at your ticker!

Lou - Love the bump! You can totally see it starting to pop out :D :D

Vicky -CONGRATULATIONS! and WELCOME!!!

mellow- Hoping things are going better today and Marlo decided to stay in there a few more months. Keep us posted.

ana- Congrats on the great pap results. Even though I havent gone through anything like you have...i did have an abnormal pap and surgery to remove the "bad" cells, so every pap since then I get so nervous. Sounds like you have an active little boy- any names picked out yet?

leora- congrats on the hitting the 12 wk milestone!!!

ryann- Im thinking maybe the high third beta is a sign of more than one but who knows. What a cute fabric!! And I love that it works with both. I cant wait to see pictures once the nursery starts coming together.

AFM- Well the doctor had to call in Zofran today...it just keeps getting worse and worse. The past 2 mornings I had to drive in the right hand lane the whole trip to work in case I needed to turn off and throw up. I also had to put a mirror on the floor so I could sit while I got ready. For some reason the nausea gets much worse when I move, or after I shower. I am trying to follow everyones advice and eat small meals throughout the day but it hasnt helped much so far. On the plus side only 1 week until the Ultrasound!! I am trying to convince DH he really should ask if he can go into work late that day so he can go with me, but since he supposed to be on overnight call that day im not sure if they will let him. Im hoping if he tell them the situation they will feel pitty on him and let him miss a few hours of work.

Anna: Congrats on being cancer free! As for BH... I've had them since somewhere in the middle of my second trimester and this is my first pregnancy. They have slowly increased over the weeks but not to a worrisome level. My doc says that it's normal and not to be concerned about them.

Blair, I know what you mean about nausea getting worse when moving or after a shower. I'm almost 15 weeks and still suffering from that! I thought it was just me who vomited almost everytime I got out of the shower. I hate showering for that reason, but gotta do it! I went to Walmart earlier today to go baby shower shopping for my sister this Sunday and had to take 2 breaks in between shopping because I started to feel so sick and just had to sit down. So there I was sitting down on the side of the aisles.. embarrassing! I hope your nausea does not last as long as mine! Looking forward to your U/S and finding out how many you have cooking in there! :P

Anna - woohoo!! Congrats on being CA-free! That's great news!

AFM - I'm approaching 15 weeks this coming Friday and I'm still down 8 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight! What am I doing wrong? I guess I need to eat more, but I just don't feel that hungry! But I'd hate to put my baby at risk if I'm not gaining enough weight. My DH doesn't like me eating junk food, and prefers I eat organic at all times, but it's simply not possible every time. I have more aversions toward food than cravings. I had to cry my way into purchasing ice cream last time. I know, sad. I called him a Nazi-husband (jokingly) at the store and he didn't like that comment very much. Oops. Anyway, I know I need to eat more.. but what can I eat while keeping it healthy?? Keep in mind I'm still dealing with nausea..

Ashley-I SOOOOO feel your pain! If you recall, I lost 20lbs by 16 weeks because of the vomitting. My doctor kept telling me that as long as I take my vitamin I would be fine. I also drank pediasure every day just for the calories, but honestly I ate NOTHING for so long. Have you talked to your doc? I wished I had listened to Leora and gotten something for the vomitting earlier. Something clicked around 18 weeks and I have been fine since (I've even gained 12lbs back!!). I just added V8 fusion so I know I'm getting my veggies because I still don't have cravings, but tons of aversions. My doctor told me if I find a food that works, even ice cream, go with it. He told me comfort foods-donuts, cookies, mac and cheese...anything! Good luck!

A young girl (okay so she's 25) had her baby two weeks ago... she's an ex-employee of mine, comes from a rather uneducated, dysfunctional family... she brought the baby to see us today and the poor little thing (barely 5 lbs) had a poo.... smelled so bad nobody wanted to hold him. We suggested a couple of times that she change him but she shrugged and said it was the dad's job... and she was picking him up in 45 minutes. She actually held that baby and then strapped him back into the carseat with a horrible poopy diaper! Doesn't she know the diaper rash potential? Also... she said he sweats all the time and when he was there (the baby..) he had four 'shivering' episodes... I've never seen a baby do that...

hi ladies, mellow- i'm so sorry you're going through this,... i will be praying for you and your little girl.. i'm glad her weight is that high.. that makes the possible worries a little easier to take (i'm imagining)

anna- so glad you're cancer free! congratulations, what a relief

leora- congrats on making it to 12 weeks. your rainbow babies are on their way :)

and just a comment about hpt's from the previous page.. i appreciate what was shared about the 'caution' of them.. and i had no idea in the UK that the options for bloodwork were'nt there.. i also relied on a hpt in between beta's for 'reassurance' and was quite crushed when my pregnancy turned chemical.. i really wasn't prepared for that. my beta was dropping, but there was still enough to be detected on hpt. it was very crushing. i think it's just helpful to know all the pros and cons of any test/intervention before relying on it.

hi to everyone else! yes, i've been very MIA, i always read the posts but still get kinda overwhelmed with the thought that i should 'try' to do personals for everyone... i just honestly don't have it in me.. between pregnancy, work and caring for my son, UGH! i'm exhausted!!! \

anyways, afm, had my anatomy u/s yesterday and ALL is healthy and normal looking!! so releived! but they couldn't for sure tell the gender as the baby was hiding it's 'parts' - oh so bummed out! i'm likely to have another one, or may pay private for a 3D one (100$ for 10 minutes!! -not impressed)..

baby_blu- What a cute looking belly!!! Looks like things are going great so far.

karenvancouver- Sounds like you have a stubborn one in there. Hoefully you can just get another US so you wont have to pay $100 for 10 minutes.

Dandme- Even though I am "younger" and will be 26 on Mothers Day...I think there are some people that really dont know how to take care of kids no matter their age. We had friends who did a similar thing with both of their kids and would let them sit in their mess until someone annoyed them enough insisting that they be changed.

Ryann- You look tiny in that picture so I cant imagine you losing 20 lbs. Im glad things started to get better and you were able to gain some weight back for those babies.

Ashley- Did you not ask your doctor about the nausea? They told me to call them with anything so I called yesterday to see what I should do since the nausea (luckily without vomitting) was lasting from sun-up to sun-down. Not too much after the nurse called me and said they would call something in. I was trying to avoid taking anything unless I had to but when I got home from work and laying on the couch didnt help I finally took the Zofran. It took awhile to kick in but afterwards it was sooo much better. Hopefully your nausea ends soon though. When do you go to find out the sex?

Hello everyone. Still here in sitting in the hospital. Off and on am having troubles with keeping the contractions under control, but for the most part it isn't as bad as it was. I had more red spotting yesterday, and another scare, but seem to be doing okay this morning. I don't know how long they will keep me, and at this point I am too scared to go home. Baby is kicking away, has had 2 doses of steriods, and seems to be good. Fighting for more days, and praying the days turn to weeks.

I'm in a bit of a fog from these meds, but just wanted to tell you all I'm reading along, and wishing everyone well. Much love to each of you.

Mellow - so glad you checked in to let us know how you're doing. I'm happy to hear that Marlo's still staying put. Hopefully they'll keep you there in the hospital until things are really under control and you feel secure enough to go home. Keep us posted as you can and we'll keep sending you all of our positive thoughts and prayers.

Stephanie - Love the bump pic!!! And I'm so envious of your "smooth" belly. I haven't gotten new stretch marks but I had enough left over from my first 2 pregancies so I pretty much have a white road map on my belly. :)

leora - So happy to see you've made it to 12 weeks!!!

Sonya - that story is so heartbreaking. And unfortunately I'm sure it's all too common. Some people just were not meant to be parents and it's the children that suffer. I think I would have taken the baby and changed it myself, poor little thing!

karenvancouver - Glad to hear your anatomy scan was great!! Sorry the LO wouldn't show you the goods though.

Ashley - No worries about your weight. I'm sure it'll start coming on as you go further into the 2nd and then 3rd trimesters. Just eat what you can - even if it's not always the healthiest choices. And tell DH when he's carrying a baby, then he can pick the diet. Until then, you eat whatever you can stomach.

annashope - I'm so glad to hear your pap was normal!! What a HUGE relief I'm sure!! How's your DS doing with his injury?

Ryann - You're looking GREAT and I just love that bedding you picked out! It's gorgeous!!

AFM, 29 weeks today, WOO-HOO!!! And only 5 more weeks until my last day in the working world. I'm getting so excited to leave it and just be a SAHM. So far my glucose results are looking great, as long as I stick to the diet. Easter Sunday I resisted all Easter candy but I just had to have french toast (2 slices) with syrup, and I mean HAD to have it. And 2 hours later my glucose levels were a 176 (when they should be under 120) so I guess I won't be treating myself to that again until after the baby. I've had BH contractions for many weeks now, but I'm noticing they've increased in the last week or so. Nothing major and nothing that would require me to call the doc but definitely more noticeable than they were before.

So here is a pic from 28w5d - my first belly shot w/o a shirt covering it. My belly is so weird looking with its giant indentation around my navel...freaky and I have no idea why I've got that weird indentation, but I love my bump anyways. :D

Mellow - Thanks so much for the update. I check a few times a day to see if you have any good news. Glad to here you and your little girl are hanging in there. Praying for days to turn into weeks, too.

Blair - Thanks! It sure doesn't feel cute, it feels like it's at max capacity and going to split in two any second. I wanted to give you the heads up, in case no one has, that Zofran (though a MIRACLE drug when it comes to nausea) can cause horrendous constipation. Keep the stool softeners abundant and anticipate on increasing your fiber intake. I always kept prune juice (YUCK) on hand for when it had been more than 5 or 6 days. Following a glass with a couple bites of applesauce helps make it more tolerable. Hope you're one of the lucky ones that doesn't get "backed up".

Amanda - I think your tummy's adorable! And no new stretch marks is something I'm envious of! The underside of my bump (you know, the part I can't see unless I'm looking in a mirror LOL) is horrible and covered in huge, purple ones. I'm going to look like a deflated balloon once these boys are born.

afm - We were scheduled to do the closings on both houses this morning... WERE being the key word. Yesterday at 4 pm we found out our buyers' lenders sent their title work to the wrong title company, who in turn LOST the GD title work. So now we have to wait for them to re-type everything and get it to the right title company. Which won't be until Monday... SIGH... Not only is this mistake costing us time and a lot of money, but it has created a horrible mood in our home. Our "home" is in complete disarray because everything is on a U-Haul in our driveway. We even packed all our food yesterday since we were moving today. I know there are way worse things in life, but this really sucks!

Stephanie- I am sooooo glad you said something. I have been "blocked up" and was really confused why. I know increased progesterone can cause some but I have been on it for awhile now so I didnt think that was the problem. I will be running out today for some stool softener I guess. I dont know that I can do the prune juice yet but I guess I may have to try if things stay like they are. Thanks again for the heads up.

Prenatals with iron can also cause constipation. My OB said that stool softeners were fine as long as they did not contain laxative as well.
