Ryann we also have a crib in our room and the boys both sleep in here. There is no way I would get any sleep what so ever if DH didn't help. It takes between 20-45 min to feed one baby and then on top of that I still have to pump. The boys are slowly starting to eat faster and go longer but for the most part is a every 3 hours from when I start the feedings which doesn't leave much room in between. On a good night 4 hours.

Reenie how are you doing? Are you managing to get any rest? My guys are 6 weeks tomorrow and I can' t believe how fast its gone. And I can't beleive how tired I am some days. It's hard to sleep b/c I have a 2 year old. Luckily he has been going to my moms some mornings so I can get some rest.

Twin moms get ready it is a crazy ride. Worth every minute but crazy. Hope all is well with everyone. Mellow your in my prayers. Hope Marlo can hang on as long as possible.

Dallas- I tested until the trigger was out of my system and then took a rest. I picked it back up on 6dp5dt and got my BFP in the middle of the afternoon. Come to find out my first beta was pretty high at 667 and was therefore easily picked up by the tests. As long as you can mentally prepare yourself to see a negative then I would go for it. If seeing a negative would make you lose all hope then I would hold off while you can.

ryann- Have you all looked into side sleepers (or co-sleepers at all)? They are smaller versions of a crib but basically have one side gone so that they line up with your mattress. I know some are good for babies up to 5 months which means you could surely fit 2 little ones in there for a little while. May take up less room than a full size crib and be much easier to access the babies in the middle of the night. I know its a personal choice for how long you let them sleep with you or together. My cousin had twins even though they loved sleeping together at the beginning, once they started waking each other up and rolling around too much they slept better apart. Sounds like the bes rest is going ok so far. Hows the knitting coming along? I can crochet and have started a blanket but never find time to do it anymore because of work and school. Just try to keep your mind busy so the days go by faster.

SD- How are things going with you??

Lou- Love the furniture!! I think if you all like it and its on sale you should go for it. SO exciting that you are cleaning things out to get ready to get the babys room ready. You will have to post pics as things progress. You had asked about twins....I would be more than happy with twins even though I know it would be a huge task. Since DH is gone a lot with work it would be me alone a lot but Im sure I would figure out how to manage. Triplets however would be extremely challenging, so at this point our fingers are crossed that we didnt fall into the 3%.OF course I would be thrilled no matter how many are in there, but it just may take some getting used to.

AFM- one more day! To think that 24 hours from now we will be on the road on the way to the appt is so exciting. Even though I am nervous out of my mind I cant wait to see how things are looking in there. The morning (aka all day) sickness is getting worse and now I have to take the zofran twice a day to function. Even though I took the 2nd dose around 5:30 last night I still ended up throwing up right before bed. Luckily thats just the first time Ive thrown up so who knows how the next few weeks will go. Everyone keep their fingers crossed that we get good news tomorrow!!

A friend just called me for advice. They have been TTC for over a year (they are young - maybe 25 and 28yo). They discovered that her husband has mild male factor. They did an IUI last month, but it was BFN. Now she has been taking Clomid (50mg) for another IUI.

She had a follicle check this morning and there are 4 mature follicles. Her doctor canceled her IUI and told her to use protection, since the risk of multiples is too high. She called and asked me what she should do (what I would do in her case).

I asked how she felt about selective reduction and she said she's never thought about it. She had the nerve to say "triplets wouldn't be so bad". WTF? I'm the one crapping-my-pants terrified because I lost a set of twins and I'm carrying twins again. TRIPLETS IS TOO HIGH RISK! Sheesh. I think she is a bit clueless.

I guess she'll probably BD even though her doctor told her not too.

(UGH - I'm so annoyed. She has been super jealous of our IVF for a long time (!) and every time I get pregnant - she is super bitter about it -- even when I got pregnant with my first set of twins and it was their FIRST MONTH TTC!. Meanwhile, they've been trying for half as long as us, have way fewer issues AND take months off of TTC 'just because they didn't feel like it'. She got pregnant once, but miscarried at 7 weeks and CONSTANTLY compares that to my losing the first set of twins. She doesn't bother tracking her ovulation with BBT, because it's 'too much'. She is still working through her gynecologist even though I recommended a RE months ago. AND she still has the nerve to ***** about this to me. UGHGGHGHGH)

unrelated to previous post --

I had a panicky moment where I worried about the babies. So much panic that I considered calling my doctor for an u/s. Someone suggested I try the doppler again. I found 2 heartbeats! YAYAY! I'm so happy. I tried to get DH to hear them over the phone, but it was too static-y. We'll try again later.

YAY!

blair - so excited your u/s is tomorrow! Can't wait to hear how many you have baking in there (I'm still guessing 2.)

leora - YAY for finding the heartbeats!!! And yes, your friend would tick me off! UGH! I know I used to be on a tubal reversal message board and it used to piss me off when someone was upset because they'd been TTC'ing naturally for 2 months and weren't pregnant yet. I was like seriously??? We'd been at it for almost 2 years, had 1 chemical, 2 e/p's, lost both of my tubes and an ovary to boot. And you want to cry about TTC'ing for 2 months?? Oh, I swear I wanted to reach through my PC and slap them.

Ladies, thank you for weighing in on the furniture dilemma. We bought it! I'm so happy about it too.

Mellow -- Still praying for you hun.

Ryann-- How are you holding up on bed rest?

Leora -- I'm glad you found the hb's with your doppler! It's a great piece of mind to have. I'm sorry about your issues with your friend who is TTC. You're right. She doesn't get it.

Blair -- How many did you transfer? 3? Excited for your u/s tomorrow. I'm betting you'll see TWO hb's!

Dallas -- I POAS once, too early (I think 8 or 9 dpo), and got a BFN. So I was afraid and didn't do it again. My BFP was a surprise!

AFM --- We bought the crib and dresser/changer I mentioned yesterday. We're going back for the full bed convserion rails tomorrow. I think we will add another dresser, mirror, and nightstand so we will have it until this child leaves home. I'm so happy! Also, my OB's office called and my AFP came back normal! So far, she said I am "very low risk" from the screenings I've had. Yay!!!! Level II is on 5/12. Can't wait. Do you think there's any way that they will NOT be able to tell the gender at a Level II? I'm really counting on it.

Lou - YAY for furniture - that's so exciting! I'm nervous about picking up a few cute onsies - furniture is great! Going to start setting up the nursery yet?

AFM --- well, D came home from work and I made him come and listen to the babies on the doppler. TOTALLY UNIMPRESSED! He couldn't care less. He is not excited at all. Werido. This is the same man who gets all choked up at every ultrasound... he just doesn't think listening to their hbs is cool. :?

I do though! Now I have to figure out how to record it so I can send it to my mom!

Lou: I love, love, love the furniture! Great find! They should be able to see the gender on your Level II. For my Level II, the tech couldn't get a clear shot of her goodies because her legs were folded but the doctor came in to review the scan and got a clear shot (he called it "the hamburger shot", lol). They might have to push/nudge on your belly a bit to get the baby to move but they should be able to get it. My doc was pretty adamant about getting it - I suppose some docs might have given up... Hopefully, yours will not.

Ryann: We have no idea how it will work out but our plan is to have the baby in our room for two weeks during my husband's paternity leave. When he goes back to work, we plan to move the baby to her room to allow my husband to get as much rest as possible. I suppose it depends on how heavy your husband sleeps... Mine doesn't sleep heavy and suffers when he gets incomplete sleep.

Blair: I'm looking forward to learning your U/S results! You are almost there! Do you think that you'll cry when you see? I totally did.

Leora: It is awesome that you can find the heartbeats now. I'm sure that hearing your healthy babies will bring you much reassurance.

AFM: I'm doing good... The return of my morning sickness was short, now I just have to be careful since it is easier to throw up than usual but most times, I can avoid it. I finally hit 10lbs weight gain so I'm feeling good. All doctor visits reassure me that Brooke and I are both healthy so I'm letting go worrying about my weight.

Brooke is still incredibly active. I thought that she'd be less active when she got bigger and more crowded but nope, she still feels like two cats fighting in a bag. She's also awake more frequently than thought that she'd be. She has dropped lower into my pelvic area which is a huge relief on my ability to breathe - she's also a lot more comfortable this way with the exception of pelvic pressure and racking up bathroom frequent flier miles.

I am getting to the point where I feel like I am done and over being pregnant... That I'm ready to be back to normal and holding our baby. I believe that this feeling is nature's way of getting us ready for the big day. 8 more weeks!

Lou- We transferred 2 great looking blasts and 1 that was just about to form a blast. The doctors urged us to transfer 2 but I was stubborn and since this was our 4th time around I argued that I should be able to do 3 since thats what I have done in the past and the chance of multiples was low. I would be thrilled with 2 though. So exciting that you got the crib and changing table you wanted and will be going back for the rest. I think they should def be able to tell the gender unless he/she tried to avoid the camera.

klinger- I am with you on the 2 in there. With the high betas and the worsening morning sickness I think its got to be more than one causing all that. Will keep you posted.

Leora- Ahhh- some people are just stupid when it comes to these things. One of the girls I worked with was complaining about how long it took them to get pregnant. She said they tried for a year, and she was on meds for 5 whole months before it worked. When she said she did infertility stuff I asked what and she said she had to take Metformin but it took 5 months. I understand a year sucks but 5 months of metformin isnt infertility treatment in my mind. Not to mention they havent even been married 2 yrs. There is another girl I work with who announced the other day she was accidentally pregnant and due near christmas. Which would be exciting...but she and her husband have separated 3 times to the point of moving out for weeks, argue all the time, and werent trying. She has no idea that I am due a little before her but I just laughed when she told me. Glad you finally got to hear those little guys!! I will probably end up getting some kind of doppler so I can make sure mine is(are) doing ok in there.

Bunny- Oh Im pretty sure I will end up crying like a baby. We have never gotten to this point before so seeing a heartbeat or two would definitely make this whole process worth it. Only 8 more weeks for you!!! How exciting. Not too much longer and you will finally get to see Brookes little face. Glad shes dropping and making you more comfortable for now though.

Hi ladies!

Sorry I've disappeared for such a long time, I was so busy! Particularly, I was busy looking after my mom's spoiled Pomeranian while she was on a two week vacation in NYC. DH doesn't like this pom half as much as I do, and it was practically demanding attention and walks from him all the time! In addition I was sick for two whole weeks which also made me a bit cranky...

Mellow - I think of you and pray for you and Marlo.

Blair - Excited for your test tomorrow! Do let us know ASAP.

Lou - I can see you little belly coming out...mine is already out as early as I am and I wonder if it's the baby or just the cakes I'm so fond of:)

Leora - Boy do I have stuff to share with you about what ppl are capable of..my "dear" SIL for example loves to chat around the dinner table how she just thinks some ppl should give the baby thing up after a certain age...let's say...32. Of course she conceived what she calls an Oops baby girl on her honeymoon a year ago and she's just 25. I'll be 35 when I'll be a mom. Knowing we do IVF she's always on and on about how horrible it must be having twins...(she doesn't know I'm pregnant yet, I wanted to avoid her TEACHING me how to be pregnant for 9 months!!!)

AFM - The bleeding I had during week 10 continued for a whole week but we weren't quite as worried after the good scan we had the towards week 11. Yesterday we had our NT!!! Our chances are less than 1:2500 so we are sooooo happy! Also, quite a surprise, with an 80% probability we now know it's gonna be a BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rio, I guess one of the predictors was right and the other was wrong! Now we are finally planning on telling the rest of our friends and family, until now only our parents and closest friends knew. How should I let this SIL know? In a way I'm happy it's a boy so she won't obsess comparing him to her little girl all the time.

Blessings to all,
K

Mellow-Thank you for sharing that link so we can all stay updated. I'm so sorry again about Claire, but glad that Marlo is being a tropper. My whole family is praying for you both and those prayers will continue.

K...Congrats on a great scan!

Blair....less than 24 hours!!!! Can't wait!!! How long is the drive? For some reason I am getting the idea you have to go far? Maybe I'm wrong! Fingers and toes crossed for you! I was actually registered for a co-sleeper and then found out it was mini co-cleeper. That was like $150. The full size co-sleeper is $250 or something like that. I just can't put that on my registry when there's so much other stuff we need to bring 2 home!

Barbara...Glad the ms was short lived. Congrats on 8 more weeks to go!

Leora...YAY for finding their hbs! DH's can be so silly! Mine still records the hb on his phone at every appt, yet when I try to get him to sit still long enough to feel them kick he get's antsy. "Ill feel them eventually" he says. I know, but you COULD feel them today if you'd sit you behind for alittle longer! They get shy :) Sorry about your friend!

Lou...yay for buying the furniture! Bed rest is coming along, only day 2 of being alone and my preggo sister is taking the day opff tomorrow to come sit with me in the sun, so that will be a nice break :) Thanks for asking!

Thanks for everyone for chiming in on the sleeping situtation. I guess I should have added that my MIL will be living here for as long as we need her, so I will definitely have help in the middle of the night. Right now DH is leaning toward building a crib in our room and I'm leaning toward the nursery right away. I guess we can decided later and we can also change our minds.

Sorry to be the question lady, but I have another questions for those who have taken the glucose test. I had mine this morning. Drank the drink at 8am and got to the doc around 8:45. Had my blood drawn at 9:00am and then decided to wait to ask the doc a question about allergy medicince (I'm allergic to trees and grass-great in the spring!). So 9:30 rolls around and I get hot, shaky, and my heart rate skyrockets into the 170s. I stumbled to the nurse who got me into a room and into a bed. I ended spending about a half hour recovering there, had my heartrate shoot back up to 183 while driving, and then came home and slept until 1:00pm. So I guess I'm wondering....should I assume I did not tolerate the glucose well and will be heading back for the 3 hour test? I'll know thursday, but just looking for some insight!

Thanks!

Mellow- Glad that Marlo is hanging in there. Hopefully your little miracle can hold off a few more weeks before she makes her debut. Keep us posted and continue getting as much rest as you can.

Ryann- Yes you were right- we have an hour and a half drive to the RE office. Even though we live right outside a big city, for some reason my insurance only covers 2 RE both of which are an hour plus away. We tried bypassing insurance with the first 3 IVFs at an RE in town, and even though we loved it there we didnt have any luck and decided to move on. Even though it will be a long drive tomorrow morning...Ill be in the passenger seat because DH knows how nervous I am on top of the fact that I feel horrible in the mornings. As for the side sleeper I know what you mean about the price and needing other stuff. Since MIL is staying with you and can help in the middle of the night I would agree with you that they should go straight to the nursery (even though it may be a little more work on your part). Best of luck in whatever you decide though.

Kay- Congrats on finding out its a boy!! And congrats on getting to share the news with family and friends.
