I know I am being overly optimistic here by asking this, but I am doing my final FET #3 cycle May 12th (the other 2 failed), however I had a successful IVF cycle back in 2007. I had an emergency c-section at 26 weeks with my son and in the mad rush of the c-section the needle that was put into my back skimmed my bone and left floating slivers of bone which left me with the most increditable back pain later on. After many dr's visits and MRI's they saw the bone slivers and I had major back surgery to attempt to remove them. The surgery was not totally successful and I am left with no feeling down my left leg and will always have lower back pain at the surgery site. So now to my question, if :pray this FET cycle works has anyone ever heard of anyone having a c-section without a spinal? I am so scared of the same thing happening again that I would rather be knocked out then having another needle in my back!
They can give general anesthesia for a C-section. Typically anyone who has not had an epidural, but has to have emergency C-section get general if there is no time to have a spinal. Sorry you had such a bad experience. I had a C-section w/a spinal and thankfully had no problems what so ever.

Hi there,
What a horrible story. I was put under a general anesthetic for my c-section. I had an epidural but it wasn't strong enough so when they determined I needed an emergency c-section they didn't spend the time upping my epidural then just put me under. So, it can be done. Good luck with your FET.
