For those of you who hadn't heard... My little girl arrived yesterday at 6:47am weighing a tiny 1lb 11oz. and measuring 14.5 inches. She tried to take breaths on her own, but is just too little. She is stable, and she is beautiful. Being in the Nicu is going to be full of ups and downs, and from our experience last year, quite emotional. I did have an infection in my uterus from the placenta that stayed from when I delivered Claire. Hoping they have a handle on it. I am so sore, but feeling better than I had been the last few days.

Please keep praying for my little Miss Marlo Joy. I think my hubby might try to get a picture of her up on my blog soon. She is absolutely perfect, just so little.

Sending you all my love this Mothers Day, and saying thank you for keeping us in your prayers and thoughts. This is going to be a long, long road.

Mellow - I'm so glad you were able to check in to let us know how you're doing. Congratulations on meeting your little one. I'm sure Marlo Joy is just beautiful! And it sounds like she's a fighter for sure if she was trying to take breaths on her own. It definitely will be a long road of ups and downs in the NICU but with all the prayers coming her way, Marlo is going to do wonderfully. Happy Mother's Day to you!

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Mellow -- I'm happy to hear that Marlo is stable. I know she's tiny and has a ways to go but she will do well. I'm so sorry for all you've had to go through. You really deserve good news from now on. Thanks for updating us. We've been praying for you and little Marlo non-stop.

AFM -- DH is anxiously awaiting me to get going on the day with him so I can't keep him long. We picked out paint for the nursery yesterday and he's going to paint this week. It's a nice custard color... neutral enough... not too yellow and not to beige. It will go with everything. I will dress up the room with color and accessories. I sure hope I can find out the gender soon! Still haven't felt the baby move yet. I so wish I could. I know I'm still early but if I don't feel it soon, I'm going to get worried.

Grandma is still in the hospital. I went to see her yesterday. We were hoping she'd come home so we would celebrate Mother's Day with her. Maybe she'll come home tomorrow, don't know yet. She seems to be doing better.

Here's my 17w1d pic taken yesterday.

Lou: The best way to feel your baby is to sit reclined, relaxed and with your feet up (like in a reclining chair). Depending on your baby's activity level and position, it might take a while to feel movement. Chances are, once you do recognize movement, you'll probably realize that you'd been detecting subtle movements for a while but didn't know at the time that it was the baby moving. To me, early on, our baby felt like a soft little spring springing (boing-boing-boing, if that makes sense, lol). Other people say that it is like a flutter.

mellow- Happy Belated Mothers Day to you. Hope Marlo is starting to recover from the infection so you all can finally hold her soon. Wishing you all the best.

Lou- Sorry you havent felt the little one move yet but I agree with SD and think your abs of steel may delay it some. I do definitely see that little belly starting to show in the newest pic though!! You look great! I cant wait to see pics of the nursery once you all get things started.

Happy Bunny- You look so good!! What a cute little bump pic!

leora- Hows the finger pricking going? Did you end up going to the MD to figure out what the issue was and how to fix it?

AFM- Had a good birthday and mothers day yesterday. We visited with DH mom and then drove home so I could nap for awhile. Then we had dinner with my sister and her family before coming back home for another early bedtime. DH said he didnt understand how I would be sleepy since I took a nap but I was exhausted. I told him growing people is draining. The nausea is still pretty bad but Ive managed to keep most of my food down. I have found it a lot better if I snack every hour instead of waiting until meals. Im already beyond nervous for the next appt even though its over a week away. I am scared that even though they all looked strong something will have happened. I am sure this is just the beginning of the worrying but man a week and a half seems like forever.

Ryann, Lou, and Barbara - Awesome, awesome pictures!!! You all look so GREAT and I just love all the bumps on this thread!!!

Lou - I'm glad your grandmother is doing better!!

Leora - Any update on the blood sugar? And I know you mentioned before that they don't like to prescribe Zofran where you live. Any other options you could get started on so you can start keeping some food down?

Mellow - I'm glad to hear you and Marlo are doing well. And thank goodness her meningitis test came back clear (hopefully the culture will too.) LOVE that you got to do a diaper change. Doing those little day to day things will be so wonderful!

AFM, my weekend was really nice. The in-laws visited and gave us soooo much stuff for the baby. It will be their first and only grandchild so they went all out. It's almost obscene the amount of clothing this child has already. I don't think she'll have to wear the same outfit twice in the 0-3 month sizes. Other than that, my glucose levels are doing awesome. I only had one level over 120 this past week (2 hours after lunch yesterday) and that was because I had a 6" chicken terryaki sub and a chocolate cookie from Subway. I knew I should pass up on the cookie but I just HAD to have a little treat on Mother's Day. :D
