All that worry for nothing! OB appt went great.

Before I could bring up my concerns, he had scheduled an appt for 16 weeks (2 weeks from now) and ordered an u/s cervical check for 16 weeks (ie, right before the appt with him). He said at the next appt, he would start me on proactive antibiotics -- no checking for infection, I'll just take the antibiotics all the time.

I also got a Rx for Zofran! Yay! Of course, since this is a 'foreign' drug, I have to file a whole bunch of paperwork with the insurance company before I can actually *get* the drugs, but at least I know I will have them.

Quickie in-office u/s showed both babies squirming around with nice, fast heartbeats.

I asked about starting P17 injections, but he said that research shows that it does NOT help prevent PTL in twins pregnancies. Huh? Karen, have you heard of this?

Leora - Soooo glad your OB appointment went well. I'm really glad you're appointments will be more frequent now and they're being proactive to prevent infection. Excellent news!

Here is my 31 week pic from this morning. I can't believe we're nearing the end. I know with the TACs they often will deliver around 37-38 weeks (and perhaps as late as 39 weeks) so it's really starting to sink in that we'll be meeting our little one in 6-8 weeks. So excited!!

Rio - What a BEAUTIFUL little girl!!! Thanks for sharing her with us! For some reason (pregnancy brain???), I can't remember her name...

Lou, Ryann, Amanda - I love, love, LOVE the bump update pics! No posts can put a smile on my face like a nice, round baby bump pic!

Blair - I'm so happy to hear that all 3 LOs are doing great. Spotting can be so scary! I'd image as common as it is with twins pregnancies, it's to be expected with triplets.

Margi - So sorry to hear of the extended bed rest. Just think of it as the beginning of the rest of your life which will be dedicated to your LOs and all the sacrifice that comes along with that. Just FYI... my stupid hematoma continued to bleed out until around 20 weeks. They kept telling me how great brown blood was because it meant it was getting smaller. Hang in there! This will be a distant memory soon. :D

Chris - Whatta cutie you have there!

kjm - LOL @ the good job pooping! Funny how tmi boundaries go out the window during pregnancy!  Hope you are able to manage your pooping despite the iron supplements.

Leora - Soooooo happy to hear your OB is right on top of everything! I know you must be so relieved to have that peace of mind.

afm - I just found out yesterday at my 32 week appt that I have to have weekly non-stress tests and growth u/s along with the OB visits. So... that's an hour for the u/s, an hour for the NS test, and THEN a dr appt. HOLY COW! Parking is going to cost a fortune!!!

I'm being a lazy bum today. With the move came the need to shop for a bunch of stuff, so I've been on my feet nonstop it seems. And with this heatwave that just hit us, my feet have swelled up like over-inflated balloons! It's really hard to force myself to sit down with so much to do around here. The majority of unpacking is done, but nothing would make me happier right now than to have ALL the boxes emptied and out of my house.

I think I may be entering the "nesting" stage of my pregnancy. I want to organize EVERYTHING! I ordered Brady and Jaxon's car seats over the weekend, which should be here any day now. And I ordered the nursery furniture on Monday, which should be here by the 20th. Then the fun stuff begins! Getting their nursery ready is going to be the highlight of this pregnancy!!! I can't wait! I think while DH is at work tonight, I'm gonna have DD and DS help me assemble the stroller just so I get to do something baby related in the meantime.

Hope everyone's having a wonderful Thursday!

HI girls.... I've only got a minute but wanted to update. I'm at work and it's been very busy. We're leaving on vacation on Saturday morning so please pardon my absense while I'm away also. We'll be in Canada most of the time and I am not going to pay for internet.

We had our MFM appt today for the Level II u/s. I'm not sure how concerned I should be because the cord is attached near the edge of the placenta and not centered like they like to see it. He said I'd need more frequent monitoring, especially after 30 weeks. This concerns me a lot. Anyone have any info?

Aside from that, she looks great. That's right... SHE. We're
TEAM PINK. She measured 3 days ahead and weighed in at 9 oz. Everything looked great. I hope she continues to grow and the cord issue won't be a big one.

Love seeing everyone's bump pics. Keep 'em coming!

Quick jump in for Lou congrats on team pink! Our little DD also has an offset chord on the placenta, one OB said it is common in IVF for some reason. My regular OB said he wasn't concerned at all at the fact it was offset. So I still went for regular check ups with the genetics OB to measure her while the other OB just measures my belly's growth. I completely trust my regular OB if he is not concerned cause he is very thorough and likes to check things out. Our girl is growing fine so yours should too!

Hi Ladies! OMGosh....I have been out of the loop here for so long that I don't know where to start. I have been reading and trying to stay in tune with what's going on with everyone.

Mellow....I am continuing to pray for you and sweet Marlo.

Klinger.....I love the bump pics. So cute! Oh....and I have to admit that I don't know what a plantain is??? I will be googling it as soon as I am done here. I've heard of them, but no idea what they look like.

BabyBlu....I can't imagine moving right now. You are a trooper! I am so jealous that you can be
on your feet with twins. So glad that your pregnancy has gone so well. :) Love hearing you say their names. So sweet. :)

Blair......OMG....X3! :D :D :D Congratulations!

to.have.fun.....So happy to hear that your pregnancy is going so well. Love the pic! Isn't it so great to see them moving so much? It truly is a miracle. :D

Kjm......I got the low iron speech this week too. Not looking forward to the supplements.

Ryann.....Love the black n white nursery! Your bump is so cute too! Hard to believe there's two in there!

Sonya.....Are you on bedrest? I thought I read it a few weeks ago, but haven't seen any posts in a while. Hope you're doing well.

Leorira.....Happy to hear your OB is on top of things. Sounds like you've got a good one! Glad the twinkies are growing and keeping their mama sane. :D

Rio.....Love the pics! She is so cute! :D

Margi.....I know....bedrest stinks! Hang in there! Hopefully the bleed will subside and you will be able to move around soon.

Lou.....You're looking great! I can't wait to see the one when you finally pop! So happy that things are going so well for you. :D

AFM.....Sorry I haven't posted in so long. I have been moving around a little each day until this week. When I say a little, I mean very little. I have been having the fetal fibronectin test every 2 wks along with my cervix check. The last 2 were negative....but this week on Tuesday...it was positive. I am so paranoid now. My OB seems to think that my risk for PTL is still low because my cervix was good at 3.5. I am on bedrest now and am doing not much of anything. I am on meds and was told that if my contractions started and wouldn't subside to not hesitate to call and go to L&D. How's that for....not to freak out? Which were her first words when she called to give me the results. How do you not freak out when you're told the test is to determine if you'll go into labor in 2 wks? She went on to say that when they do the test along with the cervix check and it's negative that it's 99% accurate that you most likely will not go into labor. When it's positive along with your cervix check, all accuracy is out the window. Its more of a heads up to be careful. Which I am grateful for...but it doesn't make it any easier. I have been having alot of contractions everyday. Some days more than others and sometimes they seem to be getting stronger.

On the plus side...the babies seem to be doing great. They are moving around so much that I sometimes can tell the difference between movement and contractions. Although, I think that all the movement causes them at times. I will be seeing my MFM in 2 wks and I get to really see them again and find out their growth. I have an appt with my OB again next week just to get my cervix checked. I really like my OB. She calls to check on me and always does things just to be on the safe side even before i ask. I had my glucose test on Monday and I passed! So happy about that! I was so worried that I wouldn't for some reason.

We went to Babysrus to register last weekend. It was fun! We also bought cribs, breast pump and baby monitor because they were on sale. It's nice to finally buy baby stuff! I ordered their car seats and stroller online. The stroller came, still waiting on the car seats. I really wish that I could go shopping. I feel like I'm missing something not being able to go. So now I've been on Amazon alot. I guess I'll be getting lots of goodies in the mail from now on.

The only other thing that kinda sucks is that I will not be having a baby shower. I don't know anyone here and all of my BEST friends are on the east coast. His family is in SoCal. I'm sure that we will still get gifts, but miss having a shower like everyone else. My BFF from Atl will come and stay for 3wks when they're born to help and I have a BFF from Ohio that will stay for a week. At least I will get some girl time with my BFF's and have some help.

Okay....I think I've written enough and i'm starting to contract more. Gotta go!

Have a great weekend girls!

Lou -- Congrats on team pink!! Sorry they added in another scare. Seems like sometimes we can never relax. I know another gal that had the same issue. they monitored her a little more but her OB wasn't too concerned.

karin - Yes, that must be scarry that the test came back positive. hoping your dr. is correct that with your cervix being long then you should be Ok for a awhile longer.

Mellow- how's Marlo.. I'll try and check out your blog to get an update.

Rio - Your u/s pics are adorable.

Love all the bump pics. I would take one but all i have is a fat bump, no baby bump yet. another downside of being overweight.

Ryann - You have a long way to go on bedrest. good luck!! i think i would be driving myself insane by now. there is only so much computer surfing and tv watching that one person can do. Though it will all be worth it in the end.

Leoria - So glad that your pregnancy is going well and your OB is on top of things. Good Luck on getting the Zofran. I hate insurance paperwork.

Blair - How are you doing triplet mommy? Another IVF gal I know just was told yesterday that she is baking 3. she is in complete shock. When is your next appointment?

AFM- I have to wait till July 8th for the anatomy scan. this is going to be a really long wait.

Hey ladies,

Lou - Big congrats on team pink :D You any girls names in mind?

Blair - I'm so pleased to hear that all 3 babies are doing well. No wonder you are so tired growing 3 babies! The tiredness will all be worth it :D Will you have more scans/checks than normal with there being 3 babies?

Ryann - Your 15wk scan is so cute! :D I look like that scan photo now! lol I'm going to start taking weekly photos now of my tummy :) Me and DH have said for baby's sake we hope he/she isn't born on Christmas Day, only because they'll just get one combined birthday/christmas present! haha

Margi - Sorry your bedrest is going to be for longer :( Take care x

Leora - So pleased to her your appt went well. You must be very relieved and happy.

I'm LOVING all the baby bump pics. It's so ace :D You all look fantastic!

AFM - Nothing major to report. I'm back at work on Monday :( booooo but on a plus side it will get me back into a routine again with getting up, eating and it will make the weeks go quicker! I feel really bloated at the moment but I've been suffering with constipation :( I'm trying to eat as much fruit, veg and fibre as I can.

I've been feeling a bit nausea these last few days so I've been eating small meals like toast, cereal or biscuits. It helps the nausea but it's making my stomach expand! haha But once I get back to work I'll be back to having my 3 proper meals a day and if I need any snacks I'll be taking fruit with me. Luckily I haven't been sick...yet! I was desperate for symptoms a few weeks ago and now I've got a feeling I'm going to get them all! haha

I went to Mothercare yesterday to see if they had any button extenders for my work trousers (instead of buying new ones for a few months) and they didn't have any but I thought I'd get my boobs measured while I was there - good job as I've already gone up a cup size! And i'm only nearly 8wks arrrghhhh :) I got a few pairs as no doubt I'll be buying some new ones in a few weeks! I did get a few cheap non-wired sports bras to wear at bedtime. Wow did I see a difference last night! I slept right thru and no pain when turning over in bed! I don't need an alarm clock, my bladder is waking me up every morning at 6am! haha But luckily I'm able to go back to bed for a few more hours! I am really going to feel the tiredness next week when I go back to work! Luckily I have a desk job!

I have been really strong and haven't bought anything yet for baby, not until I have my booking in appt with the midwife and my next scan, but I couldn't stop my mum! She was like a child in a sweet shop in Mothercare! I did let her buy a 3-pack of plain white vests! I think that will keep her happy for a few weeks until she starts buying more!

Well take care ladies. Speak soon x x x

Lou - as others have said the offset cord is for some reason common with IVF. when my son was born his cord was off to the edge of placenta as well. however, he was born a whopping 8.5 lbs and obviously had no trouble growing despite the offset cord.

Wow this board is really moving sometimes its hard to keep up...lol

Margi I am so sorry about yet another episode of bleeding and I can understand about the boredom of bedrest. At 12 weeks I had spottings and bleedings and was told that I had placenta previa and had no choice but to stop working and be on modified bed rest and I was so bored but by the grace of God by 23 weeks my previa cleared up and while I still have to take it easy because of TAC and shortened cervix at least I am able to take walks...but I can relate the bedrest seemed so long. Its for a great cause though and I will pray that all of your bleeds resolve soon. So ow are you feeling otherwise? are you starting to show a bit yet? I can't wait to see a pic

Blair I can only imagine how tired you must be I was exhausted with 1 baby I can't imagine 3 babies but I am so excited for you and can wait to watch the rest of your pregnancy...this will be such a magical time

Ryan I am amazed every week that you post your pics at how cute of a little belly you have. Being only a few days apart from you I feel like my belly is huge compared to yours and I only have 1 baby...lol I also wanted to say that my baby shower is gonna be on June 5th so it seems we are gonna have everything at about the same time. :) Isn't it weird being on bedrest after being in front of the class all the time...honestly the first few weeks I had a hard time adjusting but I had to keep reminding myself that this baby is what I want most in the whole world and it helped me a lot although I do get updates on . Anyways enjoy your peace and quiet now because soon we will only dream of words like "bed" and "rest" :)

Lou huge congrats on TEAM PINK how exciting

Sonya where are you we haven't heard from you in a while is everything ok?

To have fun I loved your u/s pic how cute

Klinger your bump is adorable how much have you gained already? you look like you are all belly

Rio your little girl is so beautiful!!!! We will be doing a 3 d u/s in 3 weeks I am so excited

Mellow you and precious Marlo are in my prayers always...and she is adorable

babyblu I am so amazed that you have been able to pull off a move now its just incredible...we are trying to organize our basement and I am pooped after a couple of hours and I am not even lifting anything

Update for today...she is stable. That is a win for a 26 week preemie. We are waiting on the results of a heart echo, to see if the duct between her heart and lungs is closed. As of the last heart echo it was slightly open, they think she shows signs that it isn't a problem, and if it is closed she will start to be able to have breast milk. That will make all this pumping worth it. Tomorrow we are having an ultrasound of her brain to check for bleeding. I lifted her up today so they could change her bedding, and I was scared to death. She is sooooooo small, and light, I thought I was going to break her. They Doctors said today is a day to remember when we have an off day later. It's one day at a time.

I am exhausted and spend my days pumping milk, peeing and sweating out fluids from the pregnancy, worrying about my baby and sleeping. My big kids had a chance to visit her today. They couldn't believe how little she was, and how wiggly her little arms and legs are all the time. :)

We want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It's pulling us through. Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts. I will try to update when I can.

I read up a bit on everyone's updates, and want to say congratulations to making it so far and for all the new news that some of you are getting. So happy to hear good news. :) Lou, Yay for a little girl! How exciting! Margi, stay put on that bedrest. Karin, do take it easy and if you feel off at any time, don't hesitate, just go in. It's not worth waiting on. Blair so excited to hear you are having triplets, that must have been a shock! I know I am missing so many of you, but just want you to know I am reading and cheering you on. :) Talk later!

Mellow - So good to hear from you and I've been following the blog for your updates. I'm glad to hear Marlo is stable and hopefully the echo and u/s will show positive results. Try not to let yourself get worn out...I know easier said than done.

Annashope - Yeah, this pregnancy is definitely belly-centric. With my first 2 I gained quite a bit and gained it all over but with this one I've gained 15 pounds and they're all sitting in my belly like a bowling ball. Of course I started this pregnancy a good 20 pounds overweight to begin with so I've had some pounds to spare. I've held steady at that weight gain for the last 6 weeks and especially with the GD, doc would like me to try to stay at my current weight for the rest of the pregnancy. I don't know how possible that will be, but the GD diet is definitely helping me keep things in check for now.

karin - Plantains are like an oversized, starchy banana but you wouldn't want to eat them raw. They come in green and ripe varieties. I like the ripe ones because they're sweet and we just slice them and fry them (they're probably the only fried food I'm a fan of.) They're really popular in hispanic cultures (my hubby is from Colombia) and I swear I could eat them with every meal if given the opportunity. :D On to you though, how frightening that must have been to have your FFN test come back positive, yikes! I'm glad your OB is being awesome and checking on you and you've been a great mama taking it easy so those little ones can get all big and healthy. I can't wait until your growth check with the MFM so you can see how big they think they are! Keep on doing what you're doing.

Yes easier said than done. I am exhausted. And now my life revolves around the NICU and pumping every two hours. Send me some of your energy if you have any left. :)

hi all... mellow- so glad lil marlo is making progress.. my son was in the nicu for only 2 wks and i found the constant pumping and worrying so stressful and exhausting.. it's hard for that to outweigh the joy of having a new little bundle.. and my hormones were off the hook too! i cried a LOT those first couple weeks.. and i only had my guy 5 weeks early, what you're dealing with is worlds apart... hang in there and hugs to you :) and YES- sweating (or better said 'leaking' out all the pg fluid was GROSS! - most of mine came out my feet too ;)

leora... so glad your OB is pulling through for you.. as i said i had PTL at 35 wks with my son and the standard now here in canada is for women to go on prometrium (progesterone) at 20 weeks until birth to prevent PTL.. my OB explained that the research that this is based on is weak, but it is recommended anyways as the risks are too high not too.. it sounds like you're in good hands, although he may not always be a 'reassuring type of dr.'

hi to everyone else ... i'm now almost 22 wks and overall doing well.. just typical aches and complaints ;)
38 yrs. DOR, TTC since '04, recommended DE but didn't listen
