Sex after IVF
Sex after IVF
Our first anniversary will land within a week to five days after transfer. Will we be able to have sex? My doctor says it's okay as long as it's been 3 to 5 days after the transfer. I have read other message boards where doctors made people wait a week or two. I'm looking into buying lingerie, but won't buy it if we can't have sex on our anniversary!

My RE says no sex after transfer until the pregnancy test. If the test is positive, no sex until you see a heartbeat on ultrasound. I know that it stinks, but after all we've been through to have a baby, we'll do what it takes!

I will just be getting some nice pajamas or a chemise....nothing too sexy. I still want to look nice. I really don't want to mess anything up even though my doctor says its okay after a few days.

How exciting, the first anniversary is always going to be the one you'll remember the rest of your life together. So you can still plan some fun stuff with dh. If you love to cook, create him a special meal or find out his favorite food. My dh is so funny, he knows I love salads and chocolate cip cookies, so for our 3rd he made just that and I was just suprised that he put that much thought into what I like.
Setting the mood is up to you, maybe jazz with a nice steak dinner, with dessert, AND while your cooking maybe run him a nice bubble bath with candles. Later on you could just snuggle up and watch a movie together with popcorn. But it doesn't take a whole lot to make the night memorable, just cater it around to what he likes and it will turn out great. Sunshine1576

My RE said we could do whatever we wanted after transfer... and guess what i have a beautiful little girl to show for it, its not going to hurt anything do you think people who get pregnant naturally dont have sex from the time they ovulate to the time their AF is supposed to show? nope it just doesnt make any sense

The RE said not to have sex because your cervix is still sensitive from the ER and most likely will start bleeding.
