Should I be worried?

I am not going through any infertility treatment at the moment, but I am a little concerned. My periods are usually about 5 days long with the first day or two being heavy and the last few days being pretty light. (Sorry if this is too much tmi) My period started last week, Wednesday morning, it seemed pretty typical at first. On about day three it seemed heavier than nomal, day four got even heavier and now on day five I am bleeding through a super tampon and a pad every hour. I have also been noticing that there seems to be a lot of clotts. I am starting to get a little worried, but I don't know what I should be worried about. I plan on calling my ob tomorrow, but has anyone experienced this with no apparent reason?

I would take a pregnancy test just to be sure. I would definitely call your DR and see them ASAP. I had a tubal pregnancy 2 times before, the first time I thought it was my period just kept bleeding no pain only to have surgery a couple of days later for a ectopic pregnancy. You never know maybe your pregnant naturally.

I'm sorry I have been away from my computer. Thanks so much for the thoughts and advice! I had to go to a new ob since i could not get in with mine. He seems to think the bleeding was just a fluke and was not too concerned. Of course, it suddenly stopped a couple hours before I got to his office. He said if it happens again, then it could mean that my endometrium is thickening, whatever that means! I would have to go back if it happens again. I was suprised he did not do an ultrasound. He just felt my uterus and inside of me. Hopefully he knows what he is doing! Just glad it stopped.

Did he do any bloodwork ? I guess he thinks your endometrium is shedding causing all the excess bleeding ??? I had a sub-chorionic hemmorhage with my last pregnancy and gushed blood with clots. My RE thought I was pregnant with twins and probably lost one. He never saw twins on ultrasound but said it can be missed due to it being so early in pregnancy. I have heard of that the endometrium gets built up with IVF cause of all the meds. I still would take a test especially if you don't use birth control. I know I'm paranoid but after 2 ectopic pregnancies I always take tests, just my opinion. Sometimes that isn't all that effective even.Glad the bleeding stopped

I totally understand where you are coming from. I really expected him to do an ultrasound and / or a pregnancy test. He did neither. I also had a subchorionic hemmorhage with my little boy. It was very large and we thought we would miscarry, but for some reason I never started bleeding. I have not been through any IVF treatment or on birth control for over a year. The bleeding was during the correct time for my period, it was just unusually heavy, then suddenly stopped. Was this what happened with your ectopic? Or did you continue to bleed? With my first ectopic I was late with my period a couple of days. Then had a usual bleed that never went away .I usually bled for 5 days this was a week and kept going. Then I had a ruptured cyst actually caused by the pregnancy, which happened when I was on vacation stupid me wait till I got back from vacation to see a DR. We had been trying to get pregnant for about 6 months so DR just put an HCG in with the blood work. Plus she did a US and found blood around my fallopian tube. She could tell on my ovary that I did have a cyst that ruptured. The bloodwork came back positive and she thought it was ectopic ran more bloodwork and my #'s were not going up the way they should have. So, the next day surgery They saved my tube. It really sucked. Then I tried to get preggo again and I was monitored very closely and this time had to wait to see my #'s going up the way they should. Then I started to bleed and I would get rectal pressure like it was to uncomfortable for me to sit down and I knew it was another ectopic in the same tube. I was right it was this time it miscarried on its own in my tube. So, no sugery thank god.I did later opt to have the tube removed when trying for #3. Every one is very different with tubal pregnancies with their symptoms, some have pain I never did but I never ruptured. Always go see a DR if you suspect anything abnormal. Then 3rd pregnancy had my DD finally with a little help from clomid:D So if it wasn't for my ruptured cyst I never would have gone to the DR. I would have ruptured my fallopian tube which is very dangerous Then 2 years later tried again and couldn't get pregnant.We tried for 2 years with clomid cycles and IUI and injectables. Then we started the journey of IVF. 1.5 years later of IVF then preggo again with ds. we did have a miscarriage with my FET.` That is my story in a nutshell. 5 surgeries lots of procedures but got my 2 kids in the end a DD and a DS. Now I debate on having more I think most likely we have finished this chapter in our lives.
