Hey Girls,

I hope E.O. is well with their respective buns of love in the oven.

Mamaboo- Glad ur nausea is letting up. One day I drank one of the new Sierra Mist Natural (I like the face that there's no High Fructose Corn Syrup) and immediately my nausea went away, although -knock on wood- I haven't had much. I hope your SCH subsides soon cause it's really scary I agree when you see that gushing blood just when you think you're outta the woods.

AFM-My OB wasn't too concerned last week when I went in about the bleeding because a) the baby looks healthy with a strong heartbeat, b) placenta looks good, and c) she cant' seem to find the cause. She doesn't see any SCH anymore, so we're keeping a close eye and I'm trying to keep a low profile. I too have been on bed rest since the beginning practically. She says bleeding minus the cramping is okay. It's just one of those things we guess.

I'm getting to the point where I can finally stop asking if I look pregnant rather than just fat. 8) My pre-preggo clothes stopped fitting a long time ago though, and some of my maternity pants are fitting snug even though I haven't really gained all that much-like 5 lbs since day one!! I think it's the bloating bcuz my pants/shorts mostly fit tight in my ass and thighs. UGH!!
My face has been acne-ridden since day one also, and it sucks bcuz ur only suppose to use a mild soap no salycillic acid. Yucky! I hate that part about the hormones. Overall, my energy is picking up but I am going to bed earlier and earlier these days. In the first trimester I could stay up past 12am which is the opposite of now.

No crazy food cravings...thank goodness. I just like "real" food. I don't really crave junk. I prefer salty over sweet since I've been preggo. My wax girl said that's usually a boy. I've thought all along I was having a boy. Everyone else says it's a girl. I find out next week hopefully.

How about you girls????

crissylove: thanks for your concern. One thing, I'm not the one with the SCH, at least not this time around I had one w/my son. However, it resolved between 12-13 weeks.

Had my first regular OB appt today. I am higher risk and will be closely monitored for 3 reasons: 1) I'm old...thirty-five is considered old for pregnancy lol. 2) clotting disorder - therefore, I will be on blood thinners until 6 weeks after I deliver. 3) expected GD - because I had full blown diabetes last pregnancy (no borderline, no controlling it with diet). However, everything looks great. I have my glucose tolerance test in 4 weeks. I will have my regular u/s around 20 weeks, but starting at 32 weeks, I'll have weekly u/s with size estimates at (I think) 32, 36 weeks and one more close to dd. I will also have a scheduled c-section. We can schedule that at my appt in June. I think that's neat, come June, I can know when Little One will be born. :P

Mamaboo-Sorry for confusing my personals. That was totally meant for Margi on the SCH. As for 35 being old...I must be ancient at 39. Shoot! lol. I'm glad that you and OB have a handle on things. At least you know kinda what to expect this time around, but hopefully you'll be in for a couple of pleasant surprises with no drama. You're also lucky you're gonna know by June. Is that usually about how far in advance they would start to schedule?? Just curious cuz I have to have a scheduled C too. Is your doc going to try to go to 39 weeks??
Glad to see nausea letting up...

Crissy: my ob's office does not believe in scheduling anything before 39 weeks unless there is a serious medical reason to do it otherwise. I expect it will be right around my due date so either Nov 26 or 28 is what I'm thinking. They actually schedule on Saturdays if that's what you want. That would be 26th. However, this one is due on my son's bday, that would be the 28th. I am thinking having the same bday would be neat. They were conceived at the same time, but frozen and born two years apart. They are twins born 2 years apart...isn't that something to think about?

I could have scheduled the date on my appt Thursday, but we got sidetracked talking about all the things there were to talk about. Last time, I didn't even get to decide whether to do a c-section or try a vaginal delivery until about 37 weeks. However, we agreed that due to the previous c-section and such, we'd be doing the same thing this time. I'll get to know ahead of time when it will happen...I love it.

Hi Ladies,

CHarr: I have sent you a couple of messages. Did u get them?

Chrissylove: So glad everything is ok. I was worried when I did hear from you for a while. Nausea should be almost gone by now and 5 lbs is great!

MAmmaboo: I know what you mean by feeling ancient at 39! How about me? I am 41, you guys!!! Am I totally archaic?! LOL
As for your decision of vaginal vs. c-section, don't stress over it. When the time comes, your OB will make the best decision.

I am now almost 16 weeks. Love the 2nd trimester. MUCH LESS FATIGUE!!! YEah. WIl be seeing my OB on MOnday for 2nd trimester screening. WIll keep my fingers crossed. We are probably going to do an amnio this time. We'll see.
I have gaines about 4lbs so far and I started feeling movement ealy this week. Much sooner than last time.

Have a great weekend guys.

Char n Leora-how are u guys feeling?

Nancy- I'm sure you'll breeze thru all the tests but good luck anyways.

Mamaboo-that would be pretty cool if you could give ur "twins" the same birthday. Fun to think about.

AFM-got the dreaded call with the results of my Tri2 blood work screens and I was still considered low risk for Trisomy 18 and neural tube defects, but I went from the standard 1/67 risk range for downs in my age category to 1/29. As a result I go for my amnio tmrw to get a yes/no answer. Do please keep us in your prayers. I get results back in two weeks.

Stay well girls.

I have had a horrible sinus headache since yesterday. It won't go away! I could almost cry!

On a better note: I love to check my siggy and watch my ticker progress! Wow, how time does fly, but yet crawl at the same time.

Hey Boo-I've been battling sinus attacks for the last 2-3 weeks. It's the weather for sure, not to mention allergy season in fuu bloom. Ugh! I woke up with a sinus headache this morning, and it really sucks that all I can take is Tylenol. Hope u get better quickly.

Thanks for the well wishes Crissy. I am feeling better tonight. I took Dimetap last night - it's on my OB's list of things I can take. It made me feel sick to my stomach and sleepy, but my sinuses are doing better. Have only taken the one dose, but usually, with a sinus headache, if I can get it to go away once, the subsequent headaches aren't as bad and go away easier. :D

Hope everyone else is well.

Crissylove: Me too--finally looking preggo and not pudgo anymore. LOL. I have only gained 1 lb--which isn’t so great since I am having twins and should have gained closer to 12 by now, but I can only do what I can do. I think now that I am in second trimester and m/s is dissipating that the lbs will pile on! Glad that you are doing well with the SCH. Are you still on bed rest? Oh, and I am totally with you--salty over sweet!
PS: Oh, I just read your post from Monday. So sorry...but remember even 1/29 means you have a 97% probability the baby is not Downs. I hope all went well with the amnio--that you are now resting comfortably afterwards. I will keep you in my prayers while you are in this next 2ww.

Mamaboo: Sorry that you are considered “high risk” but it is good that you get monitored more closely. 35 is “old”?! LOL I must be a dinosaur since I will be 44 when I deliver! Tell your OB that 35 is the new 25. :-) And I think it is so cute that your “twins” will be born exactly 2 years apart.

Nancy: How did the scan go on Monday? Hope that everything turned out ok. That is exciting that you feel movement! I thought I might have felt a few flutters, but it was probably gas. Wishful thinking!

AFM: More bed rest. Sigh. It has been 7 weeks thus far and my SCH isn't showing signs of resolving just yet. I have yet to go a week without at least one red bleed (daily brown-sorry for TMI). It is really stressful, but not much I can do except rest the best I can. My OB has put me on another 4 weeks bed rest to hopefully resolve things, but if not, then he says he worries about the SCH messing with their sacs or placenta. I had promised DH soon after we got our BFP that I would "relax" and not worry about loss as soon as I made it to second trimester. Unfortunately, those bets are off. :(

On the positive side, my OB has just gotten a 3D/4D ultrasound machine. Since I see him every 2 weeks I will get a chance to see the "peaches" on that fancy machine in 2 weeks! :D And, I bet we'll be able to see genders as well. That will be nice! Then 2 weeks after that is our Level II scan with the MFM.

Hope that everyone else is doing well!!

Hey Ladies!

Boo-being on house arrest surely sucks, and I know what ur going through cuz I'm still on it. I have to admit though...I do sneak out. I wouldn't advise it for you with a SCH that hasn't resolved though, so rest up! Hope you start getting those preggo pounds you needs, so eat up! Not too much tho.

AFM-I went to do amnio yest and I started having a very low sharp pain. Ouch! It intensified to the point that barely swiping the sono probe across my abdomen had me wincing in pain. Then when the MFM doc can in to palpate my uterus/abdomen I screamed in agony and began to cry it was so painful. They are now checking for a bladder infection, and I'm doing a kidney u/s tmrw am. I'm sure it will be fine. I went to my OB today and she thought it might be a cyst that collapsed bcuz my pain wasn't as acute today. Thank God.
As for my amnio, the MFM doc decided to hold off til we find out what's wrong. They did go ahead and perform my Level II's which had been originally set for 20wks. IT'S A GIRL!!! I'm very excited to know that. I really wanted a girl, so I'm quite pleased. However, there was some abnormalities in the results. After doing the anatomy it was determined that the femur and arm lengths were measuring at .87 respectively instead of .90, so they're somewhat shorter than they'd like. That increased my risk. It's now for certain that I'll be doing an amnio to get a definitive answer. Please pray for us. God willing she inherited my DH's shorter extremities. He's got a long torso at 6'3" but my legs are longer than his and I'm 5'7". Sounds odd I know but I swear he looks normal. I'm left with my prayers, so I'm sure God will hear me.

I hope E.O. is doing okay.

Hi Ladies,

Sorry I have been MIA for a few days. I had a lot of appointments both for myself and my son. Wow, a lot has happened to everyone since I last checked in.

CHRISSY: first of all, congrats on finding out it's a girl! You must be so excited and so sorry about the mishap with the amnio. DOn't worry about the test result probabilities. I know of sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many people whon have had very poor results on those, only to find out, after an amnio that all is well. So just relax (I know, easier said than done!). But really, don't worry.

MAMABOO: sorry about your headache, you poor thing! Hope you're feeling better now. This being an allergy season I know doesn't help matters.

MARGIE: Hang in there with the bleed. As long as the peanuts are active, that's all that counts. I had a cousin you had bleeding throughout her preganncy and she's did just fine! Also, don't feel lonely in the 40's crowd. I'm keeping you company.

I got the 2nd trimester bloodwork done last week. Next week my OB will do an u/s (hopefully I'll find the sex) then will refer me to a perinatologist for further assessment and possible amnio. 2nd trimester sure feels better. I have put on a total of about 4 pounds so far.

Have a great Memorial Day.

Hey ladies

I did the amnio this past Tues n I HATED it. It didn't really hurt but it was veeeerrry uncomfortable. The doc got half way in with the needle and had to keep it there for an extra couple of mins bcuz the little princess wouldn't move her butt away from the needle. So it was an agonizing extra two mins. So now my "2ww" begins again and I think I'm gonna dread this one more than the first one.

Hope EO is doing okay. Where r u's?
