Can anyone give me a best guess what possible side effects I'll have with the shots? I know some have talked about bloating. Thanks!

It is really different for each person. I was worried about Lupron because I had read so many women having bad headaches with that. I didn't have any and then got worried because I wasn't having side effects from it. LOL

Stims-- you'll probably have bloating as your ovaries grow but depending on how big they get will determine how much you bloat. I also think that bloating is noticed differently in different people. I think thinner ppl notice it more than this that aren't as thin.

Progesterone has given me the most side effects but, again, it's different for everyone. It makes my boobs bigger and really sore. It also gives me cramps. My backside gets pretty sore with all the PIO shots. I didn't get sore from stim shots but some people have.

Shots....Ive never done Progesterone ones...I hear they hurt really bad My RE gives me Crinone...hope that is just as good..ANY feedback on CRINONE???

WndGrl - I didn't have any side affects from my first round of IVF, other than slight bruising in my abdomen from the injections. However, this time I did get headaches from Lupron, not to bad though. I also got real dizzy on my last day of merinol. I was taking Menopr, but since I didn't have my ER the day expected, my RE had Merinol which is supposed to be same thing diff name brand. The progesterone didn't give me any side affects. Just a pain in the but!!!

Had my suppression check today. Ovaries look good and my estrogen came back at 25. I was to start stim meds tomorrow but they moved it to Saturday. I'm thinking that it is because I don't see the doc till Tuesday for my first u/s check and they like that to be on day four of stimming.

The lupron shots have been fine. No problems with the injections. But the side effects suck. The headache has increased dramatically since stopping the bcp. I started bleeding today which actually came a bit later than I expected it. It correlates directly with the increase in headache. I've lived with migraine so I'm used to it. I usually combine ibuprofen and vicodin but no ibuprofen allowed now. Bummer. I spent most of the afternoon and evening in bed. I'm glad it is almost the weekend. My dh is going to visit his family in Canada this weekend and I get to stay home! MIL is always fussing about "you need to have a baby"! She doesn't know my issues and she isn't going to know. Too much would get lost in translation unless someone can explain endometriosis, multiple sclerosis, and infertility in Chinese. I told him that it would be in everyone's best interest for me not to be dealing with that the weekend that I start stimming.

I used to give myself weekly IM shots for my MS a while back. I'm not to worried about those. I'm just a bit overwhelmed with taking 4 shots a day for a while. There is so much mixing, etc. I just want to get it started so I can get my head wrapped around it.

I'm so excited for everyone! It's all moving along so quickly!

I'll be taking Gonal-f two times per day, Menopur one time, and lupron one time per day. Is that similar to everyone elses protocol?

Hello Ladies,
Wish I could stay on here longer, but still have to clean house sometime before my company comes in on Friday. Yes my best friend from Alabama and her family are coming to visit...Short visit, but still have all day Saturday with her! Dh bought him a new boat, so I'm sure he will be entertained all weekend too. Working at the boutique tomorrow morning, off Sat. and then back at it at 6am on Sunday for our stage set. Sunday night getting together with the crew for a celebration dinner on making our quarterly sales goal. Great team-oriented store, one girl asked me today why I hadn't applied for the Assistant Manager position, told her we might be looking into IVF this fall. Funny how I'm more open-minded about taking about this stuff then I was a year ago, guess at some point you get to where you don't care what others think anymore. Well we have set priorites and I think sometimes if you tell others, maybe it ensures you will stay on track with your ultimate goal.

I know it probably sounds crazy but birth control makes me feel so tired, just glad my RE asst reminded me that once you stop AF will come within a few days. My appointment went over well, not changing anything, said it has been over 6 months since the last IUI was cancelled- so she is comfortable with me using 150units of Follistim. We will use a trigger shot timed around my opk test, happening around June 12th. Beta/pregnancy test on June 26th.

Anyway sorry I don't have personals tonight, but I have been reading and thanks Lauren for sending me the update on the stims and Akdelp for asking about my appt. Oh and RMB I really appreciate you filling me in on how your insurance covers IVF and fabulous diet your acupuncturist recommended. To Everyone: Grow Follies Grow! Have a fabulous weekend!!! Blueeyed - We are on the same schedule! I start shots tomorrow.

Went in for suppression check this morning. Everything looks good. They will call this afternoon once they get estrogen levels from bloodwork back. I had a slight panic attack last night when I was trying to go to bed. Just so much swirling around in my head regarding cost and shots and everything. It was comforting to sit down with our IVF coordinator and see she is so calm about it all (I wasn't expecting her not to be...hello it's her job! ha). I start shots tomorrow and I'm bummed because of course DH works tomorrow so I'm all on my own. I have to take 2 gonal f & 1 mini hcg (I think) at night. I take it in my stomach so I think I can do it. I'm going to read the stuff tonight and make sure I understand fully. The one thing I'm most nervous of is mixing the meds (if I have to).

If all stays on schedule we will do egg retrieval on June 15 and transfer 3-5 days after that. They don't know which one they will do because they want to see how many eggs they get. Our IVF coordinator did say if it's a low number they would do a 3 day transfer. I sure hope the transfer is on a weekend so I don't have to take any more time off.

Thanks WndrGrl that link did help I guess there is no solid answer though, your Estrogen level varies depending on how many follies are growing, from what I understand anyway. Very exciting that you are starting everything, good luck tomorrow. I know what you mean by everything swirling around in your head!! Plus there are so many, what ifs?!?!?

So excited I went for b/w & u/s, everything is great. Lining went from 8.3 to 11.8 in 3 days. So RE said everything is great and pushed my FET up to Wednesday June 8th. I don't have to go back for b/w & u/s anymore. I get to start my prometrium and crinone tonight. Doxy and medrol tomorrow along with Estrace and prometrium and crinone. Time to get the bigger pocketbook out to lug meds with me daily LOL.

Rubine: I know 1st hand how the weight packed on with IVF. We are in the same boat. We can concentate on weight loss after the baby or babies are here LOL

Wdnrgrl: glad your meds situation got squared away. I know its all overwelming at 1st, but once you start you will see how easy it all is.

Alleykitty: so glad all went well today. 31 thats so great.

Alleykittie- Oh my goodness! 31 eggs! That's a lot!!! They retrieved 8 from my right ovary and I don't have a left one. This time around was a lot easier for me. Last time I was in extreme pain and was very nauseous from the anesthesia. I did get a littlle nauseous this time and am able to walk around at least in some pain. I could not even get out of bed last time and they only retrieved 14 eggs. I can't imagine how you feel with them getting 31 eggs???? I will hear back tom about thefert as well. I am so happy this part is over and we will be PUPO soon!!!!

jcbaby - I agree about the weight gain. Ugh.... I thought it was just me.

Hope all is going well. I am nervous to go on this adventure again...my DH has been thru every test under the son and they are saying theres nothing they can do for him. Its a testicular dysfunction....no drugs will help and his count is not getting better almost worst... he has been taking the Conception XR and lcaritine to help but nothing so far...I am taking my prenatal and also some low dose dhea...my RE doesnt recommend anything for me but my thought process is...what can it hurt? im desperate at this point.

First of all, welcome to our Forum! All my husband used was vitamin A and C to help improve swimmers and within 4 months we saw a huge difference w/ the sperm anaylsis report. He also ate healthier then before too with less bread and more veggies and jogged every night.

Vivian=Welcome!!!! Looks like your DH and my DH are in the same boat....same thing he has been thru a million tests and has been taking the conception xr and all. crazy huh? They dont know whats wrong with him either...testicular dysfuction?? i dont get it at all. crazy...im here for you

Gotta share this funny story with you. Dang these meds! Last I was looking at the meds and trying to figure out what it is I need to do. I wanted to get a good idea of what's going on because I start the shots tonight and the doctor's office is only open until noon on the weekend. I figured out the Gonal F super easy. That was in a box and easy to figure out. On my schedule I have to take 375 of Gonal F and 20 of mini hcg. Well I find the HCG in my med box and that's where panic sets in. I see 2 vials. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. 20 minutes later Jason sits down with me. He's trying to figure it out and having no luck. I tell him I'm going to call the doctor's office first thing this morning to figure it out. We don't want to screw this up because it's a lot of money.

FFWD to 8am this morning. I call and leave a message for the nurse. I go back to sleep for a little bit. All a sudden I sit up in bed. I remembered I had another med in the fridge. Jason & I both thought this was my trigger shot because the trigger shot for IUI we had to refrigerate. Well what do you know? I look at the med and it says "lo dose hcg!" I found the meds I need to take. The nurse called me back while I was getting a pedicure and I tell her I think I figured it out. We have a good laugh. She tells me the one with 2 vials is the trigger shot that I bring in to the office. Man I was so relieved. So now about 8 I'll sit down and try to get my 2 shots.
