Tryin for number two!

Hiya~
I have been on and off these boards for years now and gotten such wonderful support from you ladies. I have decided to try for number two! Its a long-shot at age 42 with high FSH--but I cannot help wanting another baby and a sibling for my dear girl. The longing is not going away, so we decided to give it a try even though I never wanted to get on the IVF rollar coaster again. I am hoping there might be some other ladies out there trying for number two also? I thought it might be good to start our own board as the issues and feelings can be different the second time. I hope you join me here!

I am on BCPs now and planning to start stims next week. It all feels a bit surreal after the 2-year break from IVF after getting pregnant with my daughter. It feels all too familiar also--the hope and stress and fear, moodiness! I am going to the Clinic of Oriental Medicine this afternoon to get some Chinese herbs. i also plan to do accupuncture.

Hey wanted to introduce myself....I am not currently trying but on a break for a few but we are thinking of trying again soon. We have a 2 1/2 yr old DD and wanted to add to our family. We have had two MC this year & 1 the year before so I need a break for a while. The two this year were both with DE since I have high FSH (11.4) they said my chances were very low with out DE now I am wondering if I was sent in the wrong direction....we shall see we are thinking of a August or September start. I want to run a 1/2 marathon in August so that may delay our start for a few months. I wish you the most luck with your journey and hope you have success the first time!!!!

i just had my fet transfer a few hours ago. cant type much but here is hoping this works!

Hey ladies! We will do an FET around the beginning of August. At least, that's what I'm shooting for! Just got my Mirena IUD taken out last week and already got my period. I go in for a saline sonogram to check everything out next Monday, then we will wait for my next period to start me on estrogen. We have two frozen embies from our first cycle two years ago.

I am also trying for #2. I had a miscarriage at 19wks in March after a natural pregnancy and now I am going to have a FET in July. I am hoping it works, I have 5 day 3 embryos. I just had my second hysteroscopy/D&C on Friday since the miscarriage. I am finding it isn't as stressful the second time around....maybe because I am only on lupron at the moment!

Thanks for starting this thread, we want to try for number two soon, but not sure exactly when it will be. We thoguht it would be this summer, but we are going on vacation and really don't have any money saved. I don't think we realized what taking a pay cut and adding a baby would do to our income! But it is all worth it! Our little guy is 14 months and is soo much fun. How old are your little ones? Good luck everyone!

Hi Sue! I think we cycled together in 2008 as well. DD is now 2 and we're ready for another. Going through all the preliminary testing again - so far I have a uterine polyp to be removed in 2 weeks, and tested for slightly low progesterone. FSH levels will be done next week, crossing my fingers! DH has been put on a vitamin cocktail for 8 weeks to try to improve counts and motility. I think we're looking at around August for a xfer.

We tried back in Feb (BFN) and again in May (BFP!) . . . 2nd baby is due sometime in February . . .

it's a crazy ride to get back on . . . but hopefully, worth it in the end!

I'm excited to see there are a lot of you in the same boat--going for number two! It is also so cool to hear from my old cycle buddies!

I picked up my drugs at the clinic yesterday. So strange to be back. And I also had to pay my deposit! eek. I felt kinda ill after that. Especially since they are only giving me a 11% chance this will succeed--given my age and high FSH. Then I start feeling full of doubt and get scared this will not work. Maybe I am foolish for even trying. But I can't imagine NOT trying either.

My girl is 19 months old now. We were so lucky to get pregnant with her on our 3rd IVF attempt. I love her so much!

Two years, how much fun, yet challenging! Our little guy is 14 months and we had hoped to be cycling soon, and they would end up about two years apart (if we were successful of course). But we are going on vacation for my little sisters wedding and I just don't think we will be able to do it financially. Good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone!

Count me in too! We were blessed with our miracle baby thanks to donor embryos after 2+ years of TTC and 6 failures with my own eggs. I never imagined that we could ever get so lucky again, but it seems that a certain angel around here was looking out for us and we've been given the gift of an opportunity to try for a sibling. I still cant believe it, but we're going to try again. Who could have ever thought that we'd be in this wonderful position after so many failures, tears, disappointments and of course lets not forget the costs! Whew! its kind of strange to be going back to my old clinic where I swear my heart rate goes up just by walking through the door! I just had another mock transfer and saline sono last week and both went great, so I've got a schedule (eeeeek!) FET on Aug. 7th and my box-o-meds will be here on Tues. It sure is weird to be back on BCPs isnt it? I'm glad that it looks like a few of us will be in Aug also. I've met the most wonderful friends on this site and I look forward to getting to know you all. I try to check in as often as I can but you all get how that goes sometimes while trying to keep up with the little ones, right? LOL! Wishing us all success!
