Summer Board 2011

Hi there ladies! Geeze, it looks like so much is happening in such a short period of time... Which for us is not so bad . The board just keeps growing and growing and the attitudes are so positive. Just reading about everyone is exciting and inspiring.

AFM- I went yesterday for my first u/s after finishing my bcp's and RE said things look perfect. I start injections TOMORROW! I have a bad sinus infection that my RE told me to kick ASAP so I started antibiotics yesterday and am glued to my bed or couch. Problem is that DH is military and gone for training for a week and my RE added in a micro dose of HCG that the hurse forgot to give me, so I have to drive an hour back there just to get the meds . Then I have another appt on Wed to see how things are growing. I am so nervous and so excited at the same time... This is my first time and I know only you ladies can understand all of the emotions that I am feeling. So much to do, so many variables, so much invested both financially and emotionally... What a crazy ride this has been over the last few years. I pray every day that God will bless you all with the babies you so desperately want so that you can have your families, but honestly I feel a little selfish. I have had 3 children and DH has 1, they are 9, 10, 12, and 13. I had my tubes tied ar 21 and then when I remarried 7 yrs ago we spent a ton of money flying to the east coast from WA to have them untied. Got 3BFP's (the first we lost at 6 weeks 3 days as an ovarian ectopic and the other 2 were chemicals). After that, my tubes closed back up and that was the end of that road for us... We were devistated. This is our last effort to try to have the child together that we so desperately want as an addition to our existing family and if the first round and FET don't work we will be done. I have been blessed with a beautiful family, which is what makes me feel selfish when I hear how badly some of you amazing women are struggling for just one, but on the flip side I want nothing more than to raise a baby/babies that are ours together. To see his eyes and my smile, you all know what I mean. I guess we all have our own story in this journey, and it looks like we have been blessed to find each other to walk with through it as well.

Hi Kbanks! It is quite a hectic, crazy thing we are all doing. I feel much better now then I did a week ago when I really didn't know what the heck was going on. To me it seems normal to go to the doctor's every other day for blood work and an u/s. Give myself shots each night ha. The things we do.

AFM...More blood work and another u/s today. Looks like my left side is the dominant side for follicles. The tech measure 6 on the left with the biggest one being 11. They want to see the 2 biggest follicles at 18 before they do a retrieval. I forgot to ask where the other follicle went because on Weds the doctor measure 7 follicles. Our IVF coordinator is going to call me this afternoon with results from my blood work and to let me know when I begin the ganirelex shot. Right now she's thinking possibly beginning that on Saturday. I go in for another u/s and more bw on Sunday at 9 and then again on Tuesday. Too bad I can't claim parking fees on my FSA account. haha. Still looking at a tentative retrieval date of Thursday. That would work perfectly for our schedules. J is doesn't work and the earliest they'd do transfer would be Sunday. Which would be great because we have tickets to the baseball game Saturday night.

Last night's shots hurt a little bit. I think it was because I had a very full tummy when I gave them to me. I told the u/s tech that I have this full feeling in my tummy all day. She made me laugh because she said "Yup it's that feeling you get every Thanksgiving but this time it doesn't go away." That's EXACTLY how it feels! ha.

As for feeling selfish -- don't. Each lady here has a different path/journey that has brought them here. No one's "story" is any more important or better than another. We all have a story. We are all here to support each other.

Hi guys - i am going to migrate to this board from the april/may board. because i think i am the only one left on that board. i am currently in 2ww. i had a frozen transfer on 6/7 and my beta is on 6/20. so just hanging in there till the results come in. i am down with a cold, too. all three of us are actually - dh, ds and me. that plus the progesterone shots are making me very tired.

thanks Blissful! its funny you mention immune system. prednisone that most protocols have us take for several days around transfer actually suppresses the immune system - to avoid embryo rejection- i guess. maybe that's why my cold seems considerably worse than my DS's and DH's.

btw - how many embryos did you transfer? you got a pretty early HPT BFP - do you think it might be twins?

I am going to POAS Monday. I don't expect it to be accurate, but I am just curious. I bought a box of 3, so I'll try Mon, Tues, and Wed, and then Thurs I go in for my beta.

Thanks RMB! i see you also had an ectopic from IVF. me too. those suck! neither here nor there and takes so long to recover from them to be able to do the next cycle. i see you even had to have your tube and your ovary removed after that? wow!

looking forward to sharing this 2ww with you i've tried POASing before but found it too agonizing. More power to you though for doing it! i'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

i might POAS on sunday night right before my beta on monday. we'll see how it goes...

We only had one embryo left so that's what we transferred so nope no twins for me.

Anyone else struggling with migraine from the treatment? I am really struggling. I've taken two vicodin this evening and it has done nothing for it. It's really my only choice for dealing with it. They seem to be getting worse each day. I'm hopeful that once the injections are finished it will stop. I'm praying that this is not how my body will respond to pregnancy.

Hi everyone!

I am getting older ladies...Its my 37th Birthday today! I am having lunch with my brother and his son (my godson) and tonight dinner at my favourate chinese restaurant with my mom, sil and mil. Its going to be a night with the girls Tomorrow morning I am going to my friend's beach house and I am coming back on Monday. My DH is coming from his trip Monday afternoon so I'll pick him up from airport on my way home. I got an sms early morning from my DH wishing meHappy birthday and a while ago I had a delivery at the house of a beautiful flower bouquet and a card from my DH saying Happy birthday and that he is sorry not being here...That was SO sweet of him! cant wait to see him on Monday!...Got to go now! have some shopping to do I am going to buy my self a birthday present

And now the personals...I'll might leave someone behind girls b/c my bro is coming any minute now to pick me up with his son....
