Hey Blue, they are actually going to mix my trigger for me tomorrow when I bring it in. I go in for more bw and u/s. Things are looking good and I have 3 that are ready but the doc wants to give the others 1 more day to catch up. She thinks with another day we'll have 9 that are ready to go. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

AFM - Retrieval went great this morning - The nurse said they got a total of 18 eggs which was a good number. I thought there would have been more considering I had 32 follicles, but she said it's not that uncommon to have a decent amount less than the number of follicles Just some R&R today and tomorrow and the nurse said they will call tomorrow with the fertilization report. Transfer will be Friday or Sunday!!

Glad to hear ER went well. 18 eggs is GREAT! Please keep us updated with the fert report.

This morning I took a HPT and it read "Not Pregnant". This afternoon I tried one that had the lines and I saw a really faint second line so I asked my husband if he saw what I saw and he says he sees the line too. So this evening I took another Clear Blue Easy digital test and it read "PREGNANT"!!!! I cannot explain how Happy i am!!!! I feel so lucky because this is our third time with IVF and each time I have had a positive test but, what scares me now is the ultrsound. I have yet to have a good ultrasound. I am praying that this one is good and we will have our little baby home with us in February! I checked a due date calculator and it says due date would be Feb 23. My Dh birthday is Feb 20. One hurdle passed and another one to come!!! I hope I can sleep tonight!

WOW! Congratulations, RMB! that is great news! and usch an early BFP as well! i think you transfered 4 right? you probably have more than one that took and producing HCG in order for it to register on the test so early!
i am keeping my fingers crossed for a positive for you.

AFM, i felt some good twinges in my uterus this weekend - which is right around the implantation timeframe. the twinge feelings were similar to the feelings i had with my succesful pregnancy with DS. so i am hoping that's a good sign. of course i havent felt anything on monday or today. but i keep hoping my uterus will send me some twinge signals soon

NancyB - Yes, my beta is on Thursday. I am going in early so I can get my results back the same day. I curious about the numbers.

MadameX- Our first time around I took an HPT for a piece of mind before beta but this time was because I was too impatient and curious. My husband was against it also, but I couldn't wait.

Dreams2009 - Glad to hear your retrieval went well!!!

LYD10 - Yes, we transferred 4! I will be anxiously waiting for our ultrasound!

Looks like we are a go for ER on Friday. I have a couple follicles that are mature but also have a few more that are just about ready. The doctor wants to do one more day of meds to get more follicles ready. I go in tomorrow for another u/s and bw. I'll trigger Wednesday night and then do the retrieval on Friday. Thankfully the doctor is going to mix my meds tomorrow so I don't need to do that with the HCG. The one thing I'm worried about is the shot. DH has to work tomorrow (of course) and I don't know if I'm flexible enough to give the shot to myself. Doesn't it have to go in the butt?

I'm starting to get nervous about all this. What if it doesn't work? What if they don't get enough eggs? What if stuff doesn't mature? I think my biggest fear is this not working. It's kind of like our 1 shot. If we have stuff to freeze, it will be awhile before we can do that cycle.

I know it is hard but try and not go down "what if" lane. Like I said, I know that is easier said than done. Try to keep the PMA up.

So your trigger is an IM shot? My trigger was sub q and just went in the tummy area like all my stims. The only IM shots I've done are PIO and estrogen. I know there are lots of different paths, plans etc.... so it could very well be that your trigger is an IM. Yes, that would go in the backside. I think it can also go in the thigh. Just make sure they show you where it is to go. For me they drew circles on my back side so hubby would know where to give them. Also for IM shots, I've found it very helpful to ice the area first. I ice for at least 30 min and then we do the shot then I apply heat with a heating pad.

AFM-------------BAD day! Went to RE had my baseline and all looked good until the dreadful phone call about how my estrogen was TOO HIGH to start. I am just really frustrated with this whole process. I try to be positive and then I feel like i gt kicked and punched So Im sure the IVF coordinator will be calling tomorrow or something and I will probably do the estrace protocol again. They said my body is acting like someone with low ovarian reserve...I had one high fsh of 11...once and my AMH test was fine. I dont know anymore. DH is home....so happy for all you ladies moving on in your cycles and BFP's!!!!

Lauren - Thanks! I got a lot of rest yesterday and plan to do the same again today! So sorry your baseline did not go as planned. Hopefully they can get your estrogen levels in order and you get back on your planned protocol.

Wndrgrl - My trigger was also IM - I agree that it may be difficult to do yourself; my DH did that shot and also has done my PIO shots for after retrieval.

AFM - Fertilization report is in...18 eggs were retrieved; 16 fertilized!! So they have frozen 6 right off the start and are allowing the remaining 10 to continue growing. They will plan to schedule me for a tenative transfer on Friday but she said they think with the number of embryos we can hopefully make it to a 5 day transfer on Sunday. If any should be remaining on Sunday they will freeze those as well!

Lauren, I'm so sorry the estrogen levels are so high and this cycle is not cooperating. Hopefully they will keep monitoring you and be able to adjust the meds a little to get everything where it needs to be.

NancyB, Thanks for asking, work was good. I tried to take it easy, the procedure made me cramp but I toughed it out. Been eatting strawberries and salads, lots of folic acid. How are you feeling?

RMB, GOOD LUCK with your Beta on Thursday! Wow you transferred 4 embibabies, I need to find your clinic!

WndrGrl, Good luck with today's sns! Ours was in the behind too, but there has to be a much better place where it can be self-administered.

adkelp, yes I blame it on those hormones...dh doesn't seem to mind too much.

AFM: Wow what an exciting week already... Yesterday at the clinic our doctor told us the sperm sample didn't look as strong as last time. I told her we had bd on Sunday just before ovulation. She said sperm can live up to 72 hours so we still have a chance, but she wants us to be cautiously optimistic- so we won't be crushed if this doesn't work. She asked us to have a backup plan so we can be thinking ahead, which I already have. Remember the IVF Attain Program I mentioned months back? Well I found a clinic at Gulf Breeze, Dothan, AL that offers that program with financing options. Our appointment is set for August 31st with them. So glad I changed jobs, this is going to be quite the journey.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts/suggestions with the trigger shot. DH is a firefighter so this is the difficult part of him giving me the shot. I think we've decided that I'll just go to his station and he'll pull himself off calls for the time I'm there so he can give me the shot really quick. Oh the joys we go through.

I have a question, projesterone shots are done after transfer or retrieval?

Lyd - I'll keep my fingers that your uterus "twinges" for ya.

Sunshine - That's great news about the attain program. I hope within the next few years IVF will be more affordable so people. Hopefully more insurances will start picking it up.

AFM....I'll have more of a personal update later. I'm getting ready to head into the RE for (hopefully) the final u/s and bw before they say "trigger!" My estrogen levels were great yesterday. Sunday they were in the 800 range and yetserday they were in the 1300 range. Our IVF coordinator said they are increasing just like they want.

Dreams2009 -- Great fert report! That is awesome. Why do they freeze some right away? I guess all clinics do things differently, huh?

Sunshine -- Glad that work went well for you. Good job on eating so wonderfully!!!! I'm still feeilng fine. No morning sickness yet. I do feel queasy here and there but nothing horrible. I'm so glad about your back up plan with the attain program. Here's hoping you don't need it though.

Wndrgrl -- great idea on going and letting your dh do the shot for you. It won't take long at all. So glad you are able to work that out with him. I can't imagine trying to give that to yourself. PIO shots I think start after retrieval. I know it's crazy that I can't remember. This time was an FET for me so it's different but I'm thinking that I started the PIO after retrieval and before transfer but I could have that all messed up. I'm a lot of help, huh? LOL

AFM -- waiting on results of 2nd beta. I'll have a 3rd beta on Friday and then I think they do u/s 2 weeks after that. We shall see. waiting...waiting...waiting.....
